18  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: Sims wont practice Martial Arts on: February 17, 2010, 06:29:35 pm
I had the same game not loading problem after installing patch 2.4. etc.  I now have h.e.l.s. and it loads without connecting to E.A. for a patch. (so far) I've also had a sim play with a martial arts trainer and that works fine. So getting my game to load for about $20 was worth it. However I have found one very minor issue with h.e.l.s. (unless it's some mod I have) my sims LOVE to prepare food with whipped cream from a can huh
19  Welcome to insimenator.org / The Welcome Wagon / Re: hi I am back to playing sims 2 yippee! on: February 07, 2010, 09:50:06 pm
I think I'm gonna follow you back to playing sims 2. I've become increasingly frustrated with having to (unless I'm just stupid and can't figure out another way) re-install my game everytime an expantion pak or patch comes out. E A really dosen't want people to enjoy this game!

Trying to play it after you get a new computer that runs faster probably won't help this game at all it's just glitchy and not well planned in the first place.
I hope E A follows the microsoft plan of action and abandons this game for another version soon!!!

Just one's opinion.

Big thank you to all of you creators that have tried to make this game playable.

21  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: FT/AL Gypsy Fix... on: August 18, 2009, 07:05:39 pm
Summerbear, I played around all week-end, removed my'downlodas' folder, and other files elsewhere in the sims 2 folder that pertain to CC (no warning screen for possible CC conflicts poped up). I also deleted groupes.casche and the other .casche files and went into a non used 'hood, but to no avail. Sorry. Sad I suspect that the problem has to be in the game code itself. I have no experience in modifying game codes (if that would even solve the problem) to begin tampering with them.

So, to refresh, this is NOT a problem with the twojeffs mod, as I said I don't have this installed, this only pertains to the gypsy that arrives on comunity lots in 'downtown' not the one that gives the lamp. Does anyone else have or have had the same problem? If so, how did you fix it or are there any suggestions that I didn't think of? huh
22  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: FT/AL Gypsy Fix... on: August 12, 2009, 05:54:38 pm
Sumerbear, I've done a plain windows search of my 'downloads' folder and as i suspected I didn't have the twojeffs mod that everyone is talking about, and to confirm in gameplay i just had a genie lamp toting gypsy appear at my door last night (on her own, not called or forced).

I still can't find the problem as to why we canot interact with the gypsy that appears on downtown comercial lots. I too have the updates/"fixes" that eaxis doles out. My next step will be to remove any interaction modds that I have installed and see what happens. (time to open up my test 'hood)
23  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: FT/AL Gypsy Fix... on: August 09, 2009, 09:54:17 pm
Summerbear, I've got the exact same problem as you do and I've been trying to figure it out for quite a while.

It dosen't have anything to do with the gypsy hack as I don't have it installed, it has pretty much been there from the begining for me as I  had apartment life installed before freetime. You've taken everything out of your downloads folder so that's not it then, I'm going to try a few different things (now that I know someone else is having the same problem) never bothered before as it wasen't that big of an issue for me. I'll post with any updates.

You Should Drive a Corvette

You don't just like to drive on the road, you like to own it. You live to intimidate other drivers with your car's muscle power!

...and here I am driving an e350 cube van all day at work!
26  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: Ghosts on: July 13, 2009, 06:17:41 pm
I'm so untuned to these powers that nothing has ever bothered me, however I was told by 3 separate people that my last house has 2 entities. One travelled between the main and 2nd floor and was more or less playfull, pulling purse straps, tapping shoulders etc. The other stayed in the basement in the old coal chute room and was more on the violent side. (probably had a bad death down there) There wasen't anything in the basement so contact with it was very limited.

30  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: Ghosts on: July 10, 2009, 05:14:14 pm
There are way too many situations that can't be explained by normal means, so yes I believe there are supernatural powers at work.

Here's food for thought, as we get older we become less attuned to these powers, what do you think children's imaginary friends are??
