Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Help on patching the games needed
|

Thanks for your reply, Ekozski, however I don't know as you really understood what I was asking. I have gotten all the patches for the games I currently have, I just wasn't sure if the fixes were included in the EPs as well or not. It's the most recent patches that I am skeptical about.
This is my main query:
Since, as I understand it, all EPs/SPs after and including H&M Fashion and Bon Voyage have SecuROM I am looking into alternative versions in order to avoid SecuROM. I also wish to avoid the official patches for those EPs since they also include SecuROM. So what I am wondering is, how do I have the fixes for my games without the official patches? Has anyone released the official patches free of SecuROM? Or am I going to need to get numerous hacks to fix bugs instead of 1 patch?

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Help on patching the games needed

I have been wondering about this myself lately since having to uninstall/reinstall my game a few times and have a few questions that were not covered here on the topic.
1. Is it a fact that the next EP does not include the fixes released with the previous expansion's patch(es)? I previously assumed that the EPs would include the fixes.
2. What about when the official site has released more than 1 patch for a specific expansion? Does the latest one include all the fixes or do you need to install each one?
3. I read somewhere that you should play the game a bit first instead of just directly installing the patches right after installation. Is this true? The poster didn't specifically say, but I figured the reason would be so that the bugs would occur and then the patch could fix the problem.
Currently, I have Sims 2 Base Game - Seasons and Family Fun - Happy Holiday Stuff installed. I am hoping to avoid SecuROM, and haven't installed any of the latest EPs because I am sorting some things out first. If I don't plan on getting the official patches for the EPs which include SecuROM and if the EPs themselves do not include the fixes, how do I be sure my game will be fine?

Sims 2 Community Downloads / Female Hair / Mod Kitty's Ponytail | 10 Colors

Lovely! But when I go to the mesh page, there are three to choose from. Which one is it? Thanks To get the mesh, you just need to download the file named "(MESH)ModHairF001.zip." It works for any of the three styles because the differences are in the alpha file not the mesh. Leia.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, glad you like them! yeah, uhh where's the mesh? ltlshrt1, I'm assuming you neglected to read the original post since the link is listed there (maybe I'll put a little emphasis on it so it stands out), but anyway the mesh is by Mod Kitty here.

At long last (for me anyway), my retextures of Mod Kitty's Ponytail are finally finished. I wanted to have more color variety for this wonderful mesh, so I set to work. There are 10 colors in total for toddler to elder females (your elder sims can chose whether to color their hair or keep it a distinguished silver). .:Color binned using Theo's SimPe color binning tool plugin. .:You will need the free MESH by Mod Kitty here for these colors to show up in your game.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / The Insimenator and Unpatched EPs
|
on: October 03, 2007, 07:13:13 pm
|
Just a quick question, sorry if it is irrelevant.
I'm still having some trouble with Seasons EP/mod incompatibilities and I was wondering if it makes a difference using "InSIMenator (UV) v2.6b DEST Edition" with Seasons unpatched. I haven't installed the patches again yet since I uninstalled/reinstalled Seasons and was wondering if that was why putting the Insimenator in my game caused it to no longer load (an unspecified error popped up and then nothing each time). The only other hacks I had in the game at the time were Decorgal's talk and pose hacks.
Any ideas?
(Should I switch to Insimenator v2.7b even though I don't have Bon Voyage installed yet?)

I know the skintone isn't anatomically correct. I would like to know if anyone knows how to make it that way? Well, really, the only way would be to add the textures to make it anatomically correct. There's no magic or mod to it. BUT you would have to check Jirks'a policy on modifying his skintones (and I'm afraid I can't be too helpful in directing you as far a link, as Glance is down. Although he is at TSR, his stuff there is pay, so in other words, not allowed to be modified). Otherwise, find a different skintone that is anatomically correct. There's lots out there. *Shrug* Leia.

Sims 2 Community Downloads / Make Up / Jaded Collection | Cosmetics
|
on: May 03, 2007, 03:09:35 pm
|
The Jaded Collection is my first attempt at creating cosmetics for sims. It consists of an elegant design entailing three color variations - Ebony, Gold and Pearl. While I am, at present, not completely satisfied with the results, I decided to release the collection anyway. Future projects can be the victims of my overly perfectionist mind; I'm too tired of working on this one for now. Enjoy! Note: Just thought I would mention that I have created only the tattoo-like design (which is a face mask and can be worn with other cosmetics), the eyeshadows and separate liner are the properties of their respective owners and are not included.
