16  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: Clean Jokes on: March 08, 2011, 06:03:07 pm
This is one that's been in my head for quite a while:

If Bella Chose Jacob...

So, the other day, I was talking with my friend, a Twilight fan, and she says that Bella should've chosen Jacob instead. That way, she'd have a husband and a pet at the same time. A few days later, and much consideration, I sent her an email with the following questions:

If Bella chose Jacob,...

1. Would Bella feed him dog food or human food?

2. If they went out, would Jacob be OK by himself or would he have to be on a leash?

3. Would he have to be fixed?

4. Does he need obiedence training?

5. If he got sick or was hurt, would Bella take him to the vet or the emergency room?

6. Would it be murder if Jacob was "put to sleep"?

7. Should he have yearly rabies shots?

8. Would he be allowed to use the toilet or would he have to go outside to do his business?

9. If he does have to go outside, would he have to pick up his own leavings?

10. If the family went on vacation, would Jacob be allowed to go with the family, or does he have to stay with the pet sitter?

11. If he died, would Jacob be buried in the backyard, the pet cemetery, or a normal cemetery?

12. Would the dog park Jacob's idea of a family vacation?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Slept in since it's standardized testing day, and seniors get late arrival! Evil

I'm rooting for the Packers, because my old physics teacher is a huge Packers fan. Plus, I hear that if the Packers win, he's giving everyone in all of his classes a free 100 test grade! Cheesy

This is for you, joy.

The Unemployed Who

Do you have any jobs for this unemployed Who?
I've wandered around this town a few
I will work for money
I will work for honey
I will work for food
I will work for you
As you can see, I'm quite good at waiting tables
I will surely entertain your customers with my fables
Thank you for your time
'Twas certainly worth a dime
I now shall be on my way
But I will be gone a day
With a twist and a flip
I will be on my trip
But I would like to refrain
Thank you again

And yes, I did just make that up. Top that, Dr. Seuss! Evil

For some odd reason, I always liked spinach, canned or fresh. Yeah, I wasn't really like other kids growing up, who wouldn't even touch the stuff. Tongue

Poor Louger. Sad I'm not sure if I even want to know what happens when the count goes up to 450.

Lol Joy. I probably would've done the same thing, too, considering how I have a tendency to mishear some things.

EDIT: OK, so I want to tell you folks just how smart I am.

My dad and I have been in this little silly-string war since my graduation party. Just a few minutes ago, he surprise-attacked me, and proceeded to hide both his and my can of silly string. I searched around the house, and finally found it in the laundry bin full of clean clothes. He grabs his can, and I grab mine, but here's the best part.

I grab my can, and I aimed for my dad. However, I didn't look at where the can was aimed at, so I ended up shooting myself with silly string!!

Yeah, and he told my mom immediately afterwards, and I know she's gonna tell everyone. So much for graduating with honors! rolleyes
26  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: Share what you got for Christmas on: December 26, 2010, 06:03:46 pm
Didn't really get much this year. The three big presents I got were an SFA flag to put in my room, a double reed 16-hole harmonica, and the James Bond Ultimate DVD Collection. The real big present I got was going to Disney World for Christmas. Who knows, maybe I'll get more gifts when I go see relatives in Dallas for my aunt's wedding in a few days.

I know. I have to go see relatives just a few days after I come home from a week in Florida. Boy, I certainly get around this holiday season!
27  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Re: What's the last movie you watched? on: December 14, 2010, 02:55:26 pm
"Lorenzo's oil", for the third time on TV. It touched me to tears when I first saw it.

We just finished that movie in AP Biology. But hey, at least the movie had a happy ending! Unfortunately, the actual Lorenzo Odone died two years ago; just one day after his thirtieth, I repeat, thirtieth birthday. He's the longest survivor of ALD.

Wait wait.. What's leet speak? I never understood that.

You that phrase in my previous post that I put in italics, bold letters, and underlined? That's an example of leet speak. Or, as they prefer to type it, l33t sp3@k.

OK, admins, I'll stop with it now. Wink

Totally agreed, raven. Another thing you could add to the list is when people use leet speak on a forum with ESL. I mean, it's hard enough for a non-English speaker to understand the language itself, but w43n u TyP3 l1K3 tHi5, it makes it even more difficult for the non-English speaker to understand the language. Hell, English is my native language, and even I have a hard time understanding what people mean when they use leet speak on a forum! You can use leet speak when you text, only if your friends understand what you're saying, but a lot of us don't. Personally, when someone types or texts like that, in "an effort to be cute and/or sexy", I don't find it cute or sexy at all. When I see something like that, all I see is an ignorant person with poor grammar skills trying to make a difficult language even more difficult. It's like my friend Keith always says, "Good grammar is sexy, and makes you look like you have some thought behind your words."
