1  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Custom Objects & Recolors / Milkable, Rideable Cow with some poses on: July 11, 2008, 05:35:02 am
Thanks Rebecah - I thought the rideable cow was amazing but now my medieval sims can benefit from fresh milk.  Any chance of developing a butter churner and cheesemaker?

It's supposed to make you feel better about using Securom. .... It is for EA's benefit and profit.

Actually it is for Sony's benefit and profit but I agree with you and there is no way I am getting Sims3

Simdude = it does say you can play offline - although you will need internet access to patch - but that also applies to Sims2

For all of those who are thinking of buying Sims 3, there is a new problem that has become public just recently:
It has been announced that Spore and Mass Effect will have a new version of Securom on them that will require repeated validation via the Internet for all users. If not re-validated in a certain time period, the game you purchased will no longer work on your computer. This validation will be required every 10 days in order for you to use the game.
Read more about this from this site:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/83689-Mass-Effect-Spore-To-Use-Recurring-Validation

Please note that one paragraph states that this software will be on all future releases of any game that is released by EA..and that means the Sims3 will have it.

It appears EA have backed down on the 10 day revalidation issue and authentication will only occur when a patch or other content is downloaded Kotaku.com

There is a survey about Sims2.com here and I would urge you all to complete it - don't worry you don't have to go to the official site to do it

There is also a *suggest how we can improve the site* box so tell them - I gave most of the questions a 1 or 2 response but then the bbs makes my eyes bleed so I tend to avoid the official site as much as possible.

And if you believe that you will believe anything

If you read the 2 part interview with Mr Humble on RPS (linked by Snooty Sims) and read the post on the BBS in full it tells a different story.

If the droids at EAxis are really taking note of what the community is saying, wtf are they still releasing crappy, buggy EPs?  This does not inspire confidence in Sims3 if they still can't get Sims2 right.

As for the panacea about the other EPs from Sims1 they haven't (yet) reproduced in Sims2 - it might keep the sheeple happy to think that EAxis are going to continue producing EPs for Sims2 after the release of Sims3 but unless the proposed date is going to be pushed back for some reason then there won't be any MM or Superstar (and why would we want it?)

As long as Sims is profitable EAxis will do as they like - regardless of what the community wants

Ok I have been playing GTA4 for the past few days and all I can say is EA had better come up with some serious graphics for Sims3.  The detail in GTA4 is incredible - oh and Rockstar have been using open neighbourhoods like forever but in this game there is no screen delay when entering/leaving a building!!
IGN gave it 10/10 - unheard of in recent years.  Ok GTA4 is on the console (I am playing it on Xbox360 which is supposed to be the least favourable platform but I am still blown away) and Sims3 will be on the pc - but I play GTA San Andreas and Vice City on the pc - and the attention to minutiae is second to none.
I don't want to hi-jack the thread by writing a review here lol - there are plenty about - all I wanted to say is that I can't see Sims3 coming anywhere near a lot of games that are already out there for the look, feel and playability.

EA must be quaking as they have made a hostile takeover bid for TakeTwo - the publishers of GTA Wink

Wouldn't it be great if they have an option to migrate The sims2 into the sims3?
and all downloads works in sims3, of course the hacks will have to be removed till the community makes some hacks for the sims3, I really think they should make this option, cause I'll will buy it and install it and play it, ...I just hope they add season to the sims3 orignal game not in an expansion pack.

It wouldn't be possible to transfer Sims2 to Sims3 because they will use different coding.

The only way I would get Sims3 was if they used what we already have in Sims2 as a building block = that is there will be pets and weather in the base game so we don't have to start over but as the EPs are such a money-spinner (and EA is only about the $$$$) I doubt it

When the sims 2 came out most of the sims 1 sites shut down or were abandoned, will this happen with the sims 2 aswell? I certainly hope not!

Probably.  Although there are still a lot of us that aren't getting Sims3 so maybe not for a while.

And there are still sims1 sites out there

When the sims 2 were anounced... What was it like? I guess you thought the sims were better, but when did you decide that you wanted to buy them and that they were better? Did you like the new information being released or did you keep ranting the way we do now?

My daughter and I have played sims since the start - we played a little simcity but the appeal of controlling and playing individuals and families was exciting.  We loved Sims although the game was a little buggy at times and the sims were totally stupid so when Sims2 was first talked about the anticipation was tremendous.
There were teasers and screenshots, interviews with the people working on Sims2 and every update was greeted with squeals and trepidation.  We got to *know* the Maxoids and looked forward to the webchats.
What we didn't know was that we were being fed lies and propaganda.  The videos and screenshots they showed were photoshopped: they promised us weather - we didn't get it till EP5 although it was blamed as the reason for the 9 month delay of Sims2.  We didn't mind the wait - we had regular updates and the anticipation was increased.
Worst of all the *Maxis* brand was axed after OFB (and was only on that as an afterthought) - a brand we had loved and trusted but with the release of each EP and SP the bugs got worse, there was no testing before shipping - apart from with the basegame - and the modders were relied on to fix things until EAxis could patch it (or not as is the case with FT)

Most people were excited about the release of Sims2 but the coding was sloppy and each EP showed it up so by the time Sims3 was announced we are wary (and weary) that it will be more of the same.

As the legendary Who said *We Won't get Fooled Again*

I was told by a guy I know at EA UK that the custom meshes -- if they decide to allow them -- will be made entirely with EA provided software (like 2nd Life) and be hosted only on the Exchange (like 2nd Life) - with EA's hall-monitors of American morality deciding what is and is not acceptable -

I don't like the people who make decisions at EA, and frankly, I can see their hands all over TS3.  I have the utmost confidence in my friend at EA UK, and he said without a moment's hesitation, most of us will hate TS3. In their effort to make the game "fresh" they are moving farther from the core of play most of us long-time players like.  TS3 promises to be a game that some people will enjoy, but my mate said us long-time players will be sorely disappointed.

This is precisely why I won't be getting Sims3.  From what I have seen so far it looks like a sims2/2nd Life hybrid with the *appeal* of simstories
I made the mistake of getting simcity societies as we loved the SC series (and where would our custom 'hoods be without SC4?) and couldn't believe how *dumbed down* it was.  Sims3 seems to be in the same vein.

With the frequency the EPs and SPs have been issued, I don't feel I have got my money's worth of Sims2 yet - and there are certainly a lot of the last 4 or 5 that I haven't explored properly.

btw, beosboxboy, you say that

Thanks Maniac! I was pretty certain everyone knew that Free Time was the last EP, so I didn't mention that; but this seals it.

so what is AL?

Someone commented offline that my model (second picture) looks fat...lol. I had a good laugh about it. I downloaded her (some Japanese model) from Glance Models (Jinkra's site) because I thought she is so pretty....

In one of the close-ups she does look on the plump side but as a larger lady irl no way is she fat lol - and she is very pretty
  Love the colours E2B :happy8:
