1.2 – Detailed description

Who the hell said our starter sims have to live in horrible dumps?!

This little, but comfortable home in a classic style is developed on an open space floor and a fully enjoyable basement. And, yes, it costs only 17495 §!!!

The large and bright first floor is ideal for the living area, with all the room you need for a little but functional dinette kitchen, and sitting areas. Walls, adorned with elegant mouldings and corona in light wood, were recently repainted in beige and Sienna ground shades. These, with the precious and solid wood floor, create a warm and comfortable room.

The basement was recently renewed, and it features a spare area, floored in teak wood; a large and cosy bedroom, featuring precious wallpaper and soft carpet floor; a further room, again with wallpaper and carpet floor, usable as study or bedroom. Both rooms are equipped with an in-wall cabinet. Small and elegant windows give and an adequate brightness to the rooms.

Furthermore, this home is equipped, in the basement, with a bathroom featuring tub and shower. While, on the first floor, there is a useful WC.

At the side of the building there's enough space to place a car diveway, in the future. Furthermore, on the backyard, in the little garden, you  will be able to place your greenhouse, fruit trees and a little pond, if you want.

This lot is the ideal solution for those good taste singles or young couples, who are searching an economic home.

To see how nice this home could be when is furnished, take a look at this slideshow at Photobucket.com.

2.2 - Credits

Thanks to plasticbox of ModTheSims2.com, for his useful tutorial Observations on basements, about how to build a naturally brightened and fully enjoyable basement.

3 – USAGE AND REDISTRIBUTION POLICY

3.1 – What you can do with this lot

- You can make your sims live in it (included vampires, aliens, vegesims, werewolves… and… yes, Mrs. Crumplebottom and the Useless Charlatan, too)

- You can use it in your legacies and/or sim-stories. In that case a credit would be appreciated, but not obligatory

- You can modify it inside your game, for game reasons and because of your personal taste

- You can make it a pile of smoking rubble, and let a fire destroy it. Even if the fire is caused by the burnt dinner right the day the private school principal came to your sims home

3.2 – The one thing you CAN'T do with this lot

- You CAN'T redistribute it, in anyway, on any web site or web space, claiming it as yours. You can't do it even if you modify this lot. At least you modify it so much to make it a totally different house from the original one made by me. I spend a lot of time creating my houses. Even a small one like this. So, please, DON'T STEAL MY CREATIONS!

:chainsaw:

4 - FINAL DISCLAIMER

4.1 - Is this lot safe?

All of my lots are scanned and cleaned using Sims2Pack Clean Installer, they are game tested and 100% hack free  .

4.2 - Is this lot furnished?

All the lots I upload are UNFURNISHED, and so that’s the way they get in your computer. :stop: So all of the screenshots included in the zip, where you can see the home furnished, are for demonstrative purposes only.

I will never upload furnished lots, and that’s not because I’m a lazy person (who ever tried to build a home with TS2 should know that’s not the kind of thing a lazy person could do Cheesy ).

First, because I have a lot of not redistributable and/or pay stuff in my Downloads folder.

Then, this is my own choice. Because I think the way you furnish a home, that’s the way you are and there’s nothing more personal than furnishing in homes we and our sims live. So, I give you the shell. How you stuff it, it’s up to you and your personal taste.

If you'd like too see how could be this home when is furnished, or simply want furnishing suggestions, take a look at this slideshow at Photobucket.com.

4.3 - Is this the first lot you ever built?

Last, but not least. if you're wondering why the hell I used "1003" in the lot name, or you already understood there are the 1001 and 1002, give a look at my space at ModTheSims2.com.

I hope you and your sims will really enjoy it...

3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Has anyone had problems starting the game after the second seasons patch. on: July 16, 2007, 04:19:30 pm
Definitively, my .cache files seem they can not last more than a couple of starts... After that they get inexorably corrupted and make my game to not start.

Waiting and hoping for Bon Voyage to solve this irritating problem...
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Has anyone had problems starting the game after the second seasons patch. on: July 12, 2007, 09:00:41 am
It's me, It's ME!

I had "starting game" problems since I installed the second Seasons patch. The only way to start the game was deleting .cache files in my The Sims 2 folder.

And still I have to delete them almost any time I start the game. Otherwise it doesn't start.

I've read about similar problems in many TS2 forums around the net, and many of them are very recent topics. I can not help thinking that latest Seasons patch is somehow related.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / game not loading on: July 09, 2007, 05:10:18 am
I wonder if this happened to you after installing the new Season patch. I ask because I had the same problem just after that: I double-clicked on the game icon, but nothing happened.

It appeared the very first screen (the one showing game title "The Sims 2 Seasons"), but then the game didn't show anymore, although it appeared among Task Manager processes (with Seasons .exe file and ~e5.0001 process), but not under "applications".

First I tried removing Downloads folder, but it was useless. Then I tried removing EA Games folder completely, and the game started.

I restored the old EA Games folder, the one I had removed before, without Downloads, and deleting groups.cache and accessories.cache files. Then the games started normally. Even after reputting Downloads folder.

Everything seemed to work right, but after a couple of game restarts, at the next one, I always get an odd blank Windows error message window. And the only way to get rid of it and starting up the game, it's deleting groups.cache and accessories.cache files again.

I can't even know if it's something I downloaded lately, because my Downloads folder it's entirely new (I remade it completely, and got rid of the old one). So everything was downloaded "lately".

But I don't think the problem it's in the Downloads folder. The very first problem (the game not loading at all, even without getting an error message) happened when I had just installed Seasons patch and just put the "new" Downloads folder. So that was the first time I started the game with the "new" Downloads folder. And even after I removed it, the game did not start.

Problems like that occurred often in these late days to sims users (check out other sims forum). So I'm wondering if the new Seasons patch is someway involved in this.

8  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Dogs / In memory of Syra: my own German Shepherd on: April 10, 2007, 04:24:42 pm
Thank you, guys. Your words moved me to tears.

Several days passed, but still I walk around home searching her where she used to squat and from where she looked at you with her deep dark eyes, that were fading to blindness because of her old age. And still we preserve steak bones for her: "That's for Syra... oh, damn, Syra isn't here anymore".

It won't be easy to realize that she'll be no more there, on the top of the stairs, raising her ears every now and then, and coming to me when I come back home, welcoming me with her cries and whinies.

But it's not the first time I lose a dog. And it's losing more than a friend. It's losing a family member, as someone said. A family member who loves you unconditionally, who gives you everything, without asking nothing back.

It will pass. I know time will heal, leaving a big scar inside. But time will heal. And nice memories is what will be left, while she rests forever in our garden, where she loved to run.

Take care of her.

10  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Dogs / In memory of Syra: my own German Shepherd on: April 08, 2007, 05:00:34 pm
Hi.

This is the first time ever I upload a dog breed. Well, actually this is the first time ever I upload something on Insimenator.net Cheesy .

This dog is inspired by my beloved 4-legs-friend Syra, who passed away few days ago (may she rest in peace). The spreading of colors on the coat tries to reproduce Syra's hair colors.

Well, as many German Shepherds lovers, I was not satisfied with the Maxis German Shepherd.

In my humble opinion, the wrong thing was not much in the shape of the dog body, that needed only few adjustments (a little less wolf, and a bit more dog). The wrong thing was in the mix of colors.

Maxis German Shepherd has a base of cream coloured hair, with some spreads of black.

The real German Shepherd has a base of white hair (that is evident especially on the dog belly), that turns to cream, and shades into a sort of red brown, with huge spreads of black hair, especially upon the dog back and on its muzzle.

So it was not easy to reproduce this particular and unique mix of colors with Maxis tools. I think I got a good result, but I'm not completely satisfied.

I hope you'll enjoy this, and could this dog be a good life companion for your sims, as Syra was for me.
