1  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: A Bounty Hunter Career or Pirate Clothes for elders? on: May 13, 2009, 09:35:30 am
i've seen all of those already.  none of the pirate clothes are for elders, and the Star Wars bounty hunter career is for Sims 1, the post about making a bounty hunter career is about a Cowboy Beebop bounty hunter, which is very different.
2  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF: A Bounty Hunter Career or Pirate Clothes for elders? on: May 10, 2009, 08:15:42 pm
I have two ideas rattling around in my head right now.

The first idea is a Star Wars neighborhood which would not be complete without Boba Fett.  I've been trying to find a Bounty Hunter career for two days now with no success.  I have googled every variation of "Sims 2 Bounty Hunter career" that I can think of.

The Second idea is for Castaway Stories.  There's this one family on Wanmami Island who are dressed as pirates and I would like to keep them that way.  In order to do this, I need to find Pirate clothing for elders complete with full outfit mesh.  Preferably, the adult pirate clothes adapted to elders.

this is actually an extra limit as the game allows up to 8 sims+6 pets unhacked.  i prefer the lot full of sims hack which allows any number of sims and pets you want on the lot.

OK, now that I've actually seen a picture of the thing causing all this hoopla, I've got some thing to say.  that is a well toned stomach after having 2 kids--her midsection looks better than mine and i haven't got any kids.  now the top is a little small and she's spilling out of it so i'll give you that, but over all she looks good.  don't buy into all that pro-ana crap--THAT is how a healthy young woman is supposed to look.

i've never been one to support Britney, but the negative press over this isn't fair to her.

you were right about the red dress, I've got it now.  can you remember where you got the other yet?

i really wish that hair wasn't a donation item at that site.  i can't afford to donate and it would be just about perfect for my self Sim's formal hairdo

She’s beautiful, but, unfortunately, I don't have a place for her in my game and I really need to stop downloading Sims just for the sake of downloading Sims--my custom content folders are packed and it takes 15m to load body shop.

I do have a place for both of the outfits you've shown her in, though.  Where did you get them?

ok, i have a two huge problems with this as a reenactor.

1.) Victorian corsets don't stop at the waist.  they continue down to the hip--nearly to the joints of the hip not just to the fullest point.

2.) Victorian corsets prevented the expansion of the waist line during pregnancy.  this is why miscarriages and still births were so common during the Victorian era--the baby didn't have the room to grow that it needed.

i prefer my historical Sims to be accurate, this is why i won't do a Victorian neighborhood.

not that your skins aren't beautiful or anything, just saying, you know?

these do not have to measure up to human measurements.

the sims are human and if you're going to apply human sizing terms to them they should be applied correctly.

the maxis default is a C-cup.  bra sizes are obtained by taking two simple measurements.  first you measure around the ribcage directly under the bust, add 5 inches to get your band size.  then you measure around the fullest potion of the bust and subtract your band size.  a difference of 1 inch is an A, 2 inches a B, and so on until you get to DDD (or F) which is a difference of 6 inches.  this mesh has much more then a 6 inch difference between these two measurements, so unless she's wearing a molded cup bra, she's not a DDD--and even then she's probably wearing a size too big and got it stuffed with tissue paper.

Actually clothing size is pretty standard across most brands.  It upsets me when I see these meshes that are labeled two sizes smaller then they actually are and I am perfectly within my rights to offer constructive criticism and point out what I see as a flaw—especially since I myself wear a DDD.  I'm not saying the meshes themselves are disgusting, merely the label.  If it were labeled "32I" instead of "36DDD" I would not be commenting at all, but when I see a mesh with a smaller under-bust measurement and larger bust measurement then me listed as MY size I am upset.  The work is not the issue, merely what it's being called.

I don't see how pointing out a mislabel and discussing a real world situation that upsets me and has nothing to do with this creator can be considered rude to him.  I was as polite as I could be.

yes, she's a goddess--the goddess of spring.  each thing only has one god/goddess and hades is it for the underworld.  in addition to being the god of the underworld, hades is also the king of the underworld.  therefore his wife, persephone, is the queen of the underworld in addition to being the goddess of spring.

henna was the only form of hair dye that existed back then and that would only enhance her hair's redness.

Persephone--goddess of SPRING, QUEEN of the underworld, daughter of Demeter goddess of the harvest--is a red-head.  when i was 12 years old i found an ilustration of her and was shocked to find that she looked just like me--except thin and with green eyes instead of blue.
