61  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / New Patch Screws Up Female Sims' Scalps on: June 13, 2007, 06:57:25 pm
I just downloaded the Seasons patch #2 yesterday.  Most of my pre-made skins no longer have scalps for females, and when I export them into projects, instead of the normal "afhair~hair~stdMatBaseTextureName.bmp"  I'm getting actual "hair map" textures, mainly the default black one.  :smt120  Some of the skins linked to custom meshes, though, seem to be unaffected.

Should I re-install the game, or is there any other way that I can work around this issue?  I'd really like to find a way without the whole hassle of re-installing Seasons (since the disks are kinda iffy and will only work in Safe Mode), so any input is greatly appreciated!

(Why does EA like to screw around with their customers?  :bawl:  They were doing just fine for this EP until they "fixed" it...)

62  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Game corrupting my Custom Content? on: June 03, 2007, 05:09:00 pm
I'm not entirely sure what's going on with my game right now, but it seems like every other time I start it up, it loads half way then closes.  I haven't downloaded anything since yesterday afternoon, and the last time I've played the game was this morning, so I know something is fishy...

Even before I played this morning, I had the same problem with a download I had from two days ago that was working perfectly fine the first two times I loaded the game.  Is it possible that the game throws up random files after a certain time/randomly?  I can't seem to figure out why Seasons is doing it now when it hasn't done it before... :dontknow:
63  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Extracting in-game Sims from Riverblossom Hills? on: April 20, 2007, 03:01:21 am
Since SimPE has not been updated for Seasons, I was wondering if there was any alternate way of getting born in-game sims from Riverblossom Hills.  (SimPE doesn't read it as a neighborhood.)  I have this really nice looking sim that I want to tweak in Bodyshop and add to my other neighborhoods, but made the mistake of adding it in that particular 'hood.  Has anyone found a way around this obstacle yet?  I'd really appreciate the help!

It took me a while, but I'm finally finished!  :smt109

These are requested outfits for Mi-Chii.  I'm really proud of how they turned out in the end.  I even included the black recolor for the leggings.  I'll probably make a full outfit version for both age groups a little later.

This download includes the top and two different skirt versions for Adults and Teens:

With Converse shoes.

With heels.

Note:  The original shirt texture is by shockhorror.  I do NOT take any credit for the entire texture, other than just adding the red shirt underneath it.  If anyone has a problem with this, please let me know!

66  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / A few "advanced" problems that are bugging me at the moment... on: April 04, 2007, 05:38:19 pm
I know.  I'm just riddled with problems.  The first one is somewhat of a minor one, while the second one is a little more important...  I may need to see the Computer Gods about these.  Sad

Log Descriptions:

1.)  Before my game "died,"  I always had an issue where an error box would pop up after the lot would load, saying it had an object error with the Athletic's Career, or something to that effect.  I have an error log for it, but I can't seem to pin-point what mod I have that could be causing that.  (I'm error log illiterate.  )  Any ideas what it could be?  I'll list whatever mods I have once I boot up Sims2Pack Clean Installer once more, if needed.

2.)  Another issue... well, I'm lucky I'm able to see the Season's Auto Run Splash screen.  Then I get this lovely little blank box with a red X on the side, and after I close it, nothing else happens.  I could say the exact same for Bodyshop, only without the splash screen and "error" box popping up. I do have error logs for this, but as I said above, I don't quite understand what the problem is and if it's fixable without an un-install.  I plan on re-installing Seasons anyways, but since I don't have the second CD with me, I'm pretty much stuck.  Everything was fine this morning while I was searching for whatever was causing my snow to flash blue and black, so I may have done something wrong while I was doing so.  :dontknow:

Both error logs are attached.  Anyone willing to offer a bit of advice on these?  Definitely not expecting anyone to respond immediately, since I'm puzzled myself.  :smt120

I know that the answer to my second one will probably have to be a re-installation of Seasons, but if that's not the case, at least it's here for future reference.  :read2:

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!
67  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Blue Flashing Snow?! Augh!! on: March 30, 2007, 05:06:36 pm
Graphics Card:  ATI Mobility Radeon X1300
DirectX:  V 9.0c (2/2/07)

The driver has been updated, and it's one of the listed compatible cards for Seasons... so why, oh WHY the heck is this happening?!    Help is greatly appreciated right about now!

68  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Behold, the true evil of ATI Mobility Radeon X1300! on: February 12, 2007, 08:31:46 pm
:smt120   Okay.  Remember all those issues I've been having with the BSOD?  Whatever I think that the files ati3duag.dll or ati2dvag.dll causing it is probably doing this, too:

(...Sorry for the image size, I'll fix it if needed.  Sad )

And THAT's just one of the prettier shots.  I've seen this happen twice today, the first time looking similar to Rue's problem, only all of the white areas were black, and it happened inside my lots.  Unfortunately, the computer wasn't able to let me take that shot.  This happened only after I've had the game on for less than 1 hr, and for that to occur is extremely strange from my usual 3 hr playing sprees.  :?

I thought the possibility could have been that the laptop had gotten to hot, but the fan is working correctly, and it overheating would be weird since I have it right next to the air conditioner and properly ventilated...

I've already turned down my graphic settings as low as they can go in game, but it still ended up happening afterwards.  I've had it with this, and I haven't even had this laptop for a good six months yet.  Not to mention the fact that there is nothing on the AMD/ATI site that says the new upgrade is compatible with my laptop, so I'm playing it safe for now and sticking with the latest Omega Driver.  Any suggestions for video cards compatible with a Dell Inspiron E1505?  Of course, I'm going to have to do a heck of a lot of grovelling and pleading in order to get my mom to see it my way and order a new video chip.
69  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Another scare... BSOD appears once more... on: February 02, 2007, 01:01:35 am
Okay.  I thought for sure that I solved this problem five months ago, but just a little while ago, I was taking pictures in one of my lots.  I go to rotate the camera (while the game is paused) and all of a sudden, the Blue Screen of Death freezes my computer.  :chainsaw:   It says that the problem lies in that same deadly file, ati3duag.dll, but without the "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" dialogue...

I have EVERYTHING updated from DirectX to my current video driver,  Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.291 (Catalyst 6.9), so I really don't know for sure what the heck happened.  I still have the same EPs from before, which are EPs 1-3 sans stuff packs.

I have also been noticing a few semi-noticable changes in my graphic quality at random times, such as red flashing walkby sims or objects (rare) and neighborhood objects and buildings viewed while in a lot suddenly going black (occasional).  Not sure if it's all related, but that's one thing that puzzled me a bit.  As always, any input and assistance is greatly appreciated!  Thanks!
70  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Hmm... Bodyshop is Crashing... on: January 19, 2007, 08:50:04 am
I guess either I've reached my computer's limit, or Bodyshop no longer likes me.  Every time I open it up and wait for the long amount of time it takes to boot, somwhere in the middle of loading it crashes.  This started happening Wednesday night, because it was working perfectly Tuesday.  It's funny, because my actual game works fine, yet when I'm ready to recolor something, bodyshop doesn't want to open up for me.  :smt120

Any suggestions?
71  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Male Hair / Alpha Edit of melodie9's All-Ages Cornrows : A "Cleaner" Look... on: December 26, 2006, 07:15:05 pm
Okay,  since I finally worked up my nerve to post on MTS2,  I guess it would be just to share here since I spend most of my time here anyways.  I've worked on this for a little less than two months trying to edit the alpha map in the right places, and I FINALLY came up with a version that I was satisfied with.  We all know that the default cornrows were somewhat "fuzzy and overgrown" and a little less natural to many people's liking.  And, after months of looking to see if there were any alpha edits, I thought I'd try it for myself.  Nothing too fancy, but a little more pleasing to look at giving it a more "semi-freshly done" look.   :smile bi:

So here is my first submission to InSimenator.net, with all four default colors, binned, and de-petsed.  You will need the mesh by melodie9 for this to show up properly.  ( http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=83701 )

Hope you enjoy!
72  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Problem with Pets made content in non-Pets: The "Torso" Factor on: November 02, 2006, 01:43:54 am
This problem just occured as of late last week.  I downloaded some new hairs and clothes and for some odd reason, they show up in all the wrong places, like an outfit showing up in the hair bins, as a naked full body (see the word doc with pics).  It started right after I downloaded a new hair from the Sims Artist Union, which has since been fixed and redownloaded.  I've taken all of the packages out and started the game without them, then redownloaded them and I still have the same issue.  I have up to EP3 with no stuff packs, and all the downloads I have are ones said to be compatible.  If possible, PLEASE help me as soon as possible!
