1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Custom objects don't show (with custom enabled) on: November 24, 2008, 03:08:45 am
Thanks guys. You were right. I just needed to restart the game after choosing "Enable Custom Content." Wink

SQUEEE!

These are absolutely amazing! I can't believe how accurate some of these are. They are great. Keep it up! Grin

I tried, but I'm still having trouble with it. For some reason, it kept saying I was using the wrong format, even though I saved them all as .bmp's. I sort of dropped the project, but if I figure it out, I'll let you know.

I have downloaded a lot of custom content and had very few problems until I tried installing Seasons. I uninstalled it because my sister uses that disc to run Sims and I didn't want to wait for her to finish playing so I could play (we use different computers).

Anyway... long-story-short, after uninstalling Seasons, I noticed that all my custom content in the buy category was missing. They're all still in my downloads folder for Sims 2, but they don't show up in-game. The only content that will show up are recolors of original maxis items. All my clothes, hair and genetics and most build mode items are still intact (as far as I can tell). Also, the "enable custom content" dialog box doesn't appear when I run my game, either. I don't remember disabling custom content, and even if I did, I would assume that the custom genetics and whatnot would be disabled too. Am I right?

I really have no idea whats going on here. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Okay, so since I was bored (and I, guess, a little impatient) I tried making my own custom tattoo skin from someone else's pinup base skins. I have the skin I created in photoshop saved as a jpeg and I tried loading it into the bodyshop with the skins for males and toddlers untouched, only the female skin being altered. But it didn't work. I'm not sure exactly how to make this work and I haven't been able to find a tutorial to explain it either. Could someone either explain to me what I'm doing wrong or point me to the right tutorial please?

Thanks. I'm still working on a furnished version. Will post soon.

My first upload! :tongue8:

Lot requires: NL
Lot type: Residential
Price in game: about $60,000
Floors: 3
Rooms: 3 bed, 4 bath, kitchen, office, living/dining area, patio

It's a pretty symmetrical design (I'm kinda OCD about that stuff sometimes), but I like it all the same.

All flooring and walls are from the base game and Nightlife, but in order for the windows and doors that I've used to work, you'll need to download the Fairytale Romance collection by Kate at Parsimonious here.

I would also suggest downloading some of the wallpapers and flooring from that site. They have a few really nice sets that go with the decor of the house, as well as some furniture. Since the door/window sets have a dark stone option as well, you could easily turn this into the "Nightmare" Manor if you wanted.

I'm working on a furnished version (maybe even the Nightmare version, as well), which I'll upload soon. I just wanted to upload this one for the people who would rather furnish it themselves. Enjoy!

I don't know if anyone has already done some of these (I may have missed them somewhere) but I've been looking desperately for some pinup skins with tattoos.

I have a ton of tattoo skins for the default maxis bodyshape, but I've recently become addicted to the CPU shape since it's much closer to my actual shape. I'm torn! Tattoos or curvyness? I'd love to have both.

If anyone could make one up for me, I'd be eternally grateful. :worship: Classic, newschool, or otherwise, any style tattoo would be great. Thanks!

P.S.: Alternately, I also love the Curvy K skins on FrannySims, so a skin for that shape/size would be awesome if anyone's interested in doing those instead. (Maybe even a whole set of different sizes if someone's ready to go really crazy with the tattoo theme :happy8:).
