1  Simmers' Paradise / Anecdote Assistance / Is it really worth it? on: October 21, 2008, 02:51:06 am
Ok, so I get my ideas for buildings from google. I found this fairly cool looking apartment and decided to try and replicate it. I've been working for a few hours a day for the last few days now and I quite like what is turning out from it. However, it is a really laggy lot. I have a beafy gaming computer and honestly, this lot is the only game thus far that I have seen become jumpy at all....so I was wondering whether it is worth me continuing on with this. I am intending for it to be released if I do finish it but as a lot of the people that play TS2 seem to have average PCs, I don't think many people will be able to play it. I've attached a photo of where I am up to so far, comments appreciated.

Oh, also, if I do decide to continue and finish it then I've got 1 more day before I can scrap it for a minimum of 2 weeks, Fable 2 is finally coming out and I am expecting to switch my computer on for only a few minutes each day Cheesy

EDIT: Wow am I tired, just realized which section this is -.- If it could be moved to correct section it would be great Cheesy
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Move whole buildings? on: October 20, 2008, 11:08:22 pm
I've spent over 2 days on my current project, and as I was making the surrounding wall I realized that I've made it too close to one side, and that I can't make the wall because of the stupid thing where I can't place things on that last grid square around the lot. Is there any way I can make it so I can foundation (My wall) around this last grid square? Or if I can move my building over a couple of squares somehow, it would take way too long to recreate the whole building Sad
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims wont use phone on: October 14, 2008, 10:54:12 pm
Alright, so I spent 3 hours building my house, moved the sims in. Started playing around with a few of the things in it, and accidentally started my own home business. So I went onto the phone and clicked shut down business. I went and did something else then went back to the sim and she was out at the driveway, still with the action of shutting down the business, so I cancelled it (as I've never shut down a home business before, I didn't know what was happening). Now whenever I tell a sim to use the phone they simply pick it up and place it back down, no matter what option I select. i went into a different house in the neightbourhood and they were able to use a phone fine. If there any way I can fix this? It's really annoying because I haven't called a nanny or maid yet Sad and I can't throw parties or anything at all. I have all EPs and SPs.
I've tried deleting all phones, exiting, deleting my cache and then going back and putting a phone in again however it still hasn't fixed it. I really don't want to have to go through and delete the house though, is there any way I can fix this?
