16  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Apartment Life Chat / Re: Hidden Witch Neighborhood? on: June 28, 2010, 05:24:19 am
actually any witch could go click on the sim and select "fly to... community lot" and there'll be an option to go to Magic Town (it may be called something else, I can't remember) to either the Palace of Neverending Light or the Fortress of Eternal Darkness

I fulfilled her LTW, which was to top the medical career, so she died perma-plat.  If a sim dies of old age and their in platinum aspiration, they get that tombstone.

22  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What was your latest inspriration!? on: June 15, 2010, 05:37:38 pm
My latest inspiration is a neighborhood with victorian style buildings, along with a shopping district full of maxis buildings I plan on prettying-up.  After that I'll add some families, of course, but I'm still working on the details of them, I'll get to that when the lots are done.  I started this last December I think, and I've finished the victorian community lots and some residential maxis lots, but I still have a lot left to do, and after that I want to go back and try to make everything perfect.  It's going to take forever to finish just the buildings alone, but it's fun!

Your asian neighborhood sounds great, HappyThoughts, and your houses and sims look beautiful!

thanks!  Yeah, I agree, Brandi's story is the most interesting in Pleasantview.  Hope you enjoy the other two chapters I have up, too- I'm trying to get another one up, but slideshare isn't cooperating Sad

EDIT: it's working now! Plotty Pleasantview

25  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What was Your First Sims 2 Experience Like? on: May 31, 2010, 08:42:45 am
I'd played it twice before, both times at a friend's place and let's just say we weren't good... in those two families I played there was a fire, a death, aspirational failure...

And yet I decided to get it for myself.  I made several houses, including an underwater one, till I settled with an ugly house with no flooring, just foundation (and wondering why all the sims had red environment...) and I made about 20 versions of this one family (I couldn't decide what age the kids should be, and if there should be 2, 3, or 4, lol) before I finally started playing.  I learned about cheats quickly, and was a over the top about using them.  I had no expansion packs and motherloded when needed, so I never sent them to work, and I never bothered to make them have friends or anything- when I wanted them to have spouses, I made them in CAS and moved them in (I had uni by the time the third kid's wedding came around, which made this process easier) and cheated the relationship up so they could instantly be married and have babies.  That family went several generations before I deleted the neighborhood when I was bored...  And no wonder why.  The only interesting family was one that I gave a shop selling fish, boots, and veggies they caught/grew themselves (I had nearly all the EPs by then thanks to an old friend, but I've since had to get a new computer and only have the EPs I got myself).

Though this won't change their genetics, so they'll still pass on the face the game gave them to any kids they have, you can change their appearance using SimPE.  You might want to make back-ups of the neighborhood, but you don't have to.

First, make the teen version get them to grow into an adult.  Enter CAS and create a family with the adult version.  Using SimPE, open the file of the neighborhood the sims are in (Neighborhoods/N00#/N00#.package, or in SimPE select the Neighborhood Browser (Tools-Neighborhoods-Neighborhood Browser) and when the screen pops up select the neighborhood.  Then select Sim Surgery (Tools-Neighborhood-Sim Surgery).  Find the teen-grown-into-adult in the Sim Pool section and select them, and then press "Use" in the patient area.  Find the adult version and select them, and press "Use" in the archetype area.  Then press the Surgery button at the bottom, and if a warning comes up press continue.  SimPE will take you to the sim you changed's file.  On the upper right corner of the bottom box there should be a "commit" button.  Press that, save, and quit.

Hope that helped!
29  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: engaged sim couple won't get married on: April 19, 2010, 06:58:30 am
I think it's a problem with Antonio and the Montys in general, as Bianca couldn't get married, either, getting the same error code as Antonio.  Of course the only way I'll know for sure if it's a Monty problem is if Mercutio and Romeo get the error code, too.

As for the testingcheats, boolprop doesn't create errors, it just gives yous the error code when normally it'd just reset.  So without boolprop no error code comes up, but Antonio and Brandi get reset before they can finish the wedding.

yeah, I've tried it both ways, with an arch, without an arch, with the marriage of convenience arch (which i downloaded in the hopes it'd help with this problem)... nothing.
