Actually it depends on the neighborhood.  It seems to be the Sim with lowest "character number" who isn't an NPC who does the slapping.

I recently discovered that film and literature Sims will walk around reading a book when they're bored.

And the modular staircases are much better to use in the house, since more than one Sim can go up or down them at a time, so Sims aren't constantly getting blocked from going upstairs.  I hardly ever use the regular staircases any more.

TSR's defense (and the Feisty person) both made me think of this quote I used to use for a sig on email:

Steve Eley wrote:

Invisible Pink Unicorns are beings of great spiritual power. We know this because they are capable of being invisible and pink at the same time. Like all religions, the faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorn is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them

Yep.  The stupid thing comes in about 10 different colors, which doesn't help in finding it.  tongue
9  Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Re: AL Mailbox on: February 05, 2009, 01:23:17 pm
What if the AL mailbox doesn't show up? For the first week after I had installed the game, it worked fine. Weekly rent got taken out and the mailbox was there, but now its the residential mailbox (even on the Maxis made apartments.) Rent no longer gets taken out either. I went through all my downloads and disabled anything that I had downloaded after that first week, but to no avail. Does any one know what I should do? huh

I know I'm late getting in on this, but a lot of people have been reporting the mailbox thing.  Apparently it's caused by a old version of a hacked mailbox you may not even realize you have in your downloads folder.  I got it in a couple of lots I downloaded somewhere and it took forever to track it down.

I can't tell you the name of the file because it's one of those EAXIS generated hexadecimal things, so it's different for everyone.  I was finally able to track it down with Clean Installer--the file is just called "mailbox" under the Name field.  You  may have multiple versions of it.  Also, if you use Clean Installer to install houses the hexadecimal name of the file will be the same as the hexadecimal name in the original .Sims2Pack file.  I looked at the .sims2pack files for all the houses I'd downloaded recently and found the name of the file and did a folder search and found them.

If you don't know how to use Clean Installer, or don't want to, a binary search will get them too.

And if anyone knows who made the apartment houses Park Avenue 26 and Dorset Street 23, let them know they should remove those mailbox files right away. Grin

Unfortunately the eye thing is one of the things that can't be changed in the game.   Kate mentions it in her review at Parsimonious, which really depresses me.  No elf ears, either.  Cry

I had a Hydrobot break down, which caused a Cleanbot to break down cleaning up puddles.  IN the middle of the night, so the yard was completely filled with stinky trash by the time the family woke up.

Both the exterminator and the repairman were killed by swarms of flies.  :lol
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What action or Animation you hate the most in sims2? on: January 19, 2009, 01:24:50 pm
I've got hacks that stop almost all the really annoying stuff listed here, but the one I can't seem to find is one that stops them from going to a computer that is use, behind a locked door, or doesn't have a chair at the desk and throwing a snit fit.

I hate it when I have 10 people at parties and all they do is whine because I've locked the door to the computer room.
