1  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Sims 3 Death on: June 14, 2009, 10:34:20 am
I had no idea a child can die in Sims 3!  One of my sim's kids was swimming in the pool when I noticed he started waving his arms back and forth as if he was struggling to stay afloat.  I clicked on him to try to tell him to get out of the pool and it was too late  Sad  I exited without saving because I was too distraught to keep playing!  Just a warning to protect your sim kiddos with everything you've got!  Also, swimming after exercising may not be the best idea  tongue
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / So excited about genetics! on: April 20, 2009, 05:16:38 pm
I've read many different posts about people having double digit generations and I envy their ability to stick with one family for that long!  I'm generally very lazy and unfocused when it comes to expanding my sim families and sadly, the most generations I've had is 3.  I decided when I started fresh that I was going to make one family and stick with them as long as I could.  I am happy to say that I am now on my third generation, as two of the main family's kids now have kids of their own!  I was playing earlier and the third grandchild (and the first boy!) was born with his grandmother's eyes!  Is this common?  I fully expected him to come out with his mother's very blue eyes or his father's more subtle green/gray eyes instead he was born with piercing black eyes like his grandmother and two aunts!  I was so surprised!  I can't wait for him to grow out of infancy to see who he resembles!  Also, I'm pretty sure his two cousins have the black eyes too.  I guess they are dominant!

Thanks to anyone who reads my ramblings!   Cheesy
3  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Community Lot to Residential on: April 07, 2009, 03:17:07 pm
Is it possible to change a community lot to a residential lot?  I built a new dorm, but accidently made it a community lot without even thinking!  I'd hate to lose all the hard work.  Thanks for the help!
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Just a quick question! on: March 28, 2009, 05:24:16 pm
I've always been hesitant to install of all my games at once because I'm afraid that the game would be too laggy or not work at all.  I've noticed that a lot of people in the community seem to use many expansions (if not all) of them without any issues.  I was considering installing all of them (I have all expansions and most SP's) however, I'm still unsure if my computer can support it.  I'm pretty sure it can, but nothing is more annoying than a super laggy game!
Here are my specs:

HP
AMD Phenom 8400 Triple-Core Processor 2.10 GHz
3.00 GB
32 Bit Operation System

What do y'all think?
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Problems with .rar files! on: March 22, 2009, 04:39:05 pm
I have run into a new problem when trying to install .rar files.  Instead of a box opening up and asking me if I want to open or save the file, a box pops up and automatically begins downloading my file into a temporary folder (which I cannot find to install my content properly).  The .zip files are installing without any issues.  I've always been able to install .rar files without any problems.  I'm not sure why this is happening, as nothing has changed!  It's just a bit annoying!  Any help would be appreciated.  I have become all too familiar with the help thread recently lol Thanks!
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Help! White X surrounded by a red circle...FIXED! on: March 13, 2009, 04:29:48 pm
When I try to open my game, I get a message box with the Sims 2 listed at the top and a white X surrounded by a red circle.  I've never had this happen before!  I have been downloading custom content and decided to start my game to play around with the new hairs I've downloaded when I got that error.  I have The Sims 2, University, Nightlife, and Seasons installed.  I opened my game yesterday without any issues.  Has anyone else come across this?  Any help would be much appreciated =)

I decided to just unintall everything and reinstall it thinking this would be easier than combing through my list of downloads.  Boy was I wrong.  I reinstalled The Sims 2 and tried opening it and got an error saying it is not compatible with Windows.  I have Windows Vista and I have never gotten this error.  I've had this computer for just less than a year.  I updated with the patch and I can now get to the Sims 2 loading screen and then it all goes blue, like it gets stuck when loading.  I have no idea what's going on, but I'm thisclose to throwing in the towel.  Thanks for letting me vent.  If anyone has experienced anything like this and could offer any insight, I would appreciate it. Thank you!
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Putting Old CC in a newly installed game! on: March 03, 2009, 07:26:05 pm
I've gotten bored with my game and want to start all over by uninstalling everything and reinstalling other expansions as well as the ones I've been playing with.  I would like to keep all of my CC and pick and choose what to put back into my game.  Is there an easy way to do this?  I understand that I may have to download different versions of some things as they may not be appropriate for the expansions I have installed.  I have a ton of CC and it would take me forever to browse for it all over again!  Any help would be appreciated =)
Also, while I am on the subject of CC... what is a good way to organize it?  I know this will be different for everyone who answers, but I would like to organize it to make it easier to locate.  Perhaps by Website or Creator?  Can I make subfolders in my downloads folder?  Any advice on organization and what works for all of you would be awesome!

Thank you so much!  Cheesy
8  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Okay, Bad luck must be on my side... on: February 06, 2009, 01:49:08 pm
I am having problems installing custom sims in my game.  I have had these sims in my game before, but have since uninstalled and reinstalled everything.  I just downloaded them and attempted to put them back into my game and I'm getting error message, after error message, after error message! huh  I am using Q-Xpress and it's telling me that the files are already open, subscript out of range, or permission denied.  I haven't done anything differently, so I don't know why this is happening!  Any help would be much appreciated!  Hopefully, this is my last post of issues!!  Haha, I can only dream! =)

Thanks in advance!
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Help! I can't install my games! on: February 05, 2009, 10:11:07 pm
First off, my apologies if this topic has been covered in depth elsewhere!  If that is the case, a simple link to that thread would be much appreciated! I've been playing The Sims 2, Seasons, and Apartment Life pretty frequently the past week or so.  I've installed a lot of custom content with no issues at all... I decided earlier today I would like to refresh one of my neighborhoods back to default.  After researching how to do this, I did it successfully, but could not get the CC to work.  Instead of perusing thread after thread after thread on how to fix my CC, I decided it would just be easier to uninstall all of my games and then reinstall them.  Well!  I did this and now I cannot get some of my downloads to work at all!  I installed custom sims (from the Sims Hunks area of this site) and none of them showed up! I've never had any problems with any CC showing up before.  Sooo, I uninstalled and reinstalled again... Or at least I tried to.  I can't even install The Sims 2 without getting an error message that reads: "A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file F:\TSData/Res/UserData/Neighborhoods/N002/Characters/N002_User002009.package from the media. If anyone can provide any insight as to what this means, I will be so grateful!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this and for any help you may offer =)  I really appreciate your time!
