on: October 14, 2009, 05:55:34 am
Where can I find something to make my sims have more realistic hands?
Why do my sims have paddles for hands? Have they always been that way and I wasn't paying attention?
Thanks for any help. Hope I've posted this in the proper forum. And I have been searching off and on for serveral weeks and even Googled Sims Hands.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sleuthing: Custom Content with long alpha/numeric chains
on: September 28, 2009, 05:38:47 pm
How can I locate source or link for custom content when the Name is only a long chain of numbers and letters? What is the MD5 number also listed in the Clean Pack installer discription after Name and Type?
Long before I thought about contributing, I downloaded many, many beautiful and fun custom Sims for my Sims 2 game. I was totally ignorant that I would need that info to share the Sims I made.
I know ignorance is not an acceptable excuse. But can anyone give me a clue how to find this information?
If so, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / WCIF my Sims thumbnail
on: September 22, 2009, 04:18:20 pm
I have found snapshots, screenshots, CAS thumbnails and a preview from clean pack installer and there is a pic in SimPE but I don't know where the thumbnail is or how to get it in post.
Dasi has tried working with me on CC requirements for days to get my Sparkle upload into InSim.org site, but time differences and health issues make it difficult for her (plus I'm just dense, I guess).
Caffeinated Joy has also tried to help me locate creators and artists and their TOSs.
I have put poses, candid shots, and some shots with humor into my Photobucket album. All my album photos came from inside the game.

A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Do you know what a Sarlacc is?
on: September 09, 2009, 10:33:47 pm
Google it if you don't. I was discussing with my son my woes & trials after installing a new EP for Sims 2. I told him I had tried to get help from the vendor/creator to correct the problems that ensued after the installation. My son told me he had an experience with the 'support' division of that company once (it shall remain nameless, however, you will find its abbreviation in the two middle letters of the word 'lead'). He says this company support/website is the offspring of a Sarlacc. My son is the most generous and patient person I know but he will not endure callous indiffence or uncaring incompetence. But, but, but - that company gave us Sims! How could you talk mean about them? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Shame, shame, go to your room, Nonni. Bad Nonni-

A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Venturing into new territory/My two cents
on: August 26, 2009, 03:00:36 pm
The Inseminator.Org was the first forum in which I had ever participated. Recently I have been searching other website forums and found that it is rough out there. Most of these other sites were found when searching this site for information and being directed to them for modifications.
This section (A Safe Haven) really is just that. Even so, I am almost afraid to post without checking and re-checking grammar and spelling. Evidently it is a hugh thing with some admin and moderators at other sites. The people at this site (InSim) show more patience and tolerance with those of us that fumble.
However, the "rulers" at other sites do say that, as they do the work of administrating and moderating, it is their site and they make the rules. I can now see that proper form and netiquette (new-to-me word I found) are essential so that our admins and moderators can help us. That is the whole deal in a nutshell:
They are trying to help us.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / No desire/aspiration to be werewolf
on: August 05, 2009, 12:33:39 pm
Sorry if this is repeated question but I did search, honest. I am sick and tired of my sims wanting to be werewolfs. It seems like a constant thing with them. It cuts down on the aspiration points I can build for them. I used to try to distract them with other things they like but they go back to wanting to be a werewolf. I have even made Lycantophy (sorry spelling) one of their turnoffs. Have I missed the no werewolf aspiration fix, if there is one?

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims won't cook and can't dance
on: July 23, 2009, 12:08:23 am
I have a couple of Sims on vacation and they were cooking meals just fine in their vacation home at Three Lakes. But they got back from meeting that hairy guy (forgot what he is called, senior moment) in his burrow and now they won't cook. We were having a good time, did all the tours, got souvenirs, played games, entertained new friends and even have a garden going great guns. They won't check food levels in fridge so I asked for food delivery and they could only order a tiny amount so I figure fridge is full; beside if there were no food I would have gotten a message.
About the dancing: they went to Tikki and would start to join in the hula and everyone else just stopped so my Sims didn't learn the dance. Same with the slapdance at Three Lakes. The dancing I can live without but the no cooking is going to make things a little challenging. One of the Sims in the couple is employed as a celebrity chef. Maybe all this will go away when the get back from vacation.

A Safe Haven / General Discussion / Clutter on the site

It is good to know that we have such an alert and conscientious team of Admin and Moderators. You Guys are amazing. I don’t know how you keep up with everything. It is good to know that old or unused topics can be cleaned out. I sometimes worried that our site would get to big. Sorting through all the posts, helping with problems, just in general directing traffic – that is a big job. Wish I know how to say more than just “Thanks”.

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Sims on vacation - won't move/get out of bed/unresponsive
on: June 29, 2009, 08:40:13 am
I have a couple on vacation in Takemizu staying at a hotel. They had a great time but comes the morning and they won't move, won't get up, no snoring z's. I cannot use moveobjects cheat because buy and build mode are greyed out. I've had couples unresponsive to waking up but I could always use moveobjects and get them out of bed. Funny thing, back in the neighborhood, this couple will come to parties and answer phone calls but their house shows them still on vacation. I've put a lot of work into this couple and they are expecting their first child. Also, I did not use CAS, they came with the game. (Sanjay and Priya Ramaswani)

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Selectable Infants
on: June 14, 2009, 05:27:20 pm
After reading 2000 or so post (I may be exaggerating) searching for a way to utilize baby clothes, hair, accesories, etc. I saw a small comment about "infant has to be selectable".
Now that is something that I have really wanted to do since I started playing Sims. If this is covered, I'm sorry to ask you guys to cover it again. Please tell me how or direct me to the directions I need to make an infant selectable.
Thanks much.

A Safe Haven / General Discussion / "do Not pm" Blues or Abject Apologies
on: June 09, 2009, 01:46:33 am
I would like to apologize to all the great and amazing people, like Ali, Squinge, J. M. Pescado, etc, to whom I have sent pm's. My bad - I just realized my faux pas as a terrible lack of proper InSim site ettiquette. I just didn't read all the message, you know the "fine print" about "do not pm me". PS. I like pm's but I'm a complusive chatterer, just ask DaSpecial1.
