1  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: How do lesbians have babies in TS3? on: June 11, 2009, 05:25:31 pm
I had my sim divorce her husband.  A few weeks later I went to his house and he had 3 kids + a baby.  All in a 1 bedroom house.  The baby was just lying on the floor =/.

It's the games way to keep sims in the town so that when the original sims get old and die there will still be sims in the town for you to interact with.
2  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / Re: InSiminator Mod for Sims3 on: June 10, 2009, 05:44:09 pm
There's a few good mods that have been made already.  Nothing like the InSiminator, but the game hasn't been out for long.  I'm not sure if the mods created will have to be kept secret.  There's a lot of sites that have links to the mods, and EA could probably find them all within 5-10 minutes.  Even if EA isn't supporting mods being created it doesn't look like they're doing anything to stop it.

4  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Help / Re: The Sims 3: What should I DO??? on: June 07, 2009, 05:26:01 pm
Okay. But according to Wednesday17, there isnt even a need to uninstall anything. The sims 3 will work fine with or without the sims 2 installed on the same drive? See, I have a plugin- a personal media drive for my computer in which I store MY things. Its memory isnt really shared with the computer itself. It has about 300 GB of space. And it currently still has about 240 GB of space meaning everything should be working fine right?

You have lots of space on your hard drive.  There's no need to delete / uninstall anything on your computer, and doing that wont make it work better.

I believe that EA lied about the minimum requirements to get more people to buy the game.  You might need to upgrade some things on your computer to make it work better.

You can move around with your mouse, you just have to click while doing it.  I've also read in a topic someone said you could change back to the old controls in the options.  But I haven't tried doing that yet, I'm getting used to the new controls so it isn't a problem for me.

Most of the old cheats are still there, but a few have had their names changed.

make happy = Makes everyone in household's mood perfect and removes negative moodlets.
freerealestate = This cheat ignores the cost for houses while buying.
kaching = While on the lot, entering this will give you $1,000.
motherlode = While on the lot, entering this will give you $50,000.
6  Resident Creators / EP8 Mods / Re: More Family Members & Pets 12 - AL (UPDATED) on: January 10, 2009, 05:48:13 pm
I have a family of 8 teenagers who already live on a residential lot and I'm trying to make another family of 4 other teenagers move in and combine households with them.

Edit:  I downloaded the userstartup file Squinge posted and it's working now =)

You can try this in combination with the mod by following the steps and then direct your Sims to try for a baby or adopt a child:

1. Use Windows Explorer and go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\**Your User Name**\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Config

2. If you don't have a userStartup file in that location, you can create one with Notepad. **Don't use WordPad, Microsoft Works or any other word processor program since these programs use special formatting rules. Notepad doesn't and is ideal for editing the userStartup file.**

3. Open a new document in Notepad and type the following three lines:

uintProp maxTotalSims 50 <<press Enter>>
uintProp maxTotalHumans 35 <<press Enter>>
uintProp maxTotalPets 15 <<press Enter>>

<<press Enter>> is what you should do after typing the line.
**Total Sims MUST equal the number of Humans and Pets.**

4. Save the file as userStartup.cfg in the same location:

C:\Documents and Settings\** Your User Name**\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Config

The above lines will enable you to have more Sims on a given residential lot, whether it be a normal residential lot or an apartment lot. The mod is to let you have up to 12 but not more.

I did this but I still haven't been able to get it to work =(.  My household has 8 people in it and I'm trying to get 4 other sims to move in and combine households.  Could someone give me some more advice on how to make this work?  Thanks
