Yes, I have checked without any CC and it is still doing the same thing. All games were installed in order and each patch for every expansion were added after install of each game. I still could swear there was a patch fix somewhere for this problem seperate from the main expansions ones. Maybe I am just Coo Coo...lol I was worried about the game running in windows 7 but it runs great. Only other annoying thing is that the game minimizes back to windows every so often...Not sure why.

Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Having combine households issue

I just got a new computer and am running widows 7. I have all expansions and a few stuff packs. Since I have installed everything on this new system I am having an issue with my sims showing back up in the sim bin after combining a household. If they die on the lot, they show up in the sim bin but, no picture is there. All my games are patched. The stuff packs I have are M&G, K&B, Holiday, Glamour & H&M. I didn't see any patches for these particular stuff packs on EA's website. Am I missing a patch for one of these stuff packs from somewhere else? I could swear there was one for M&G somewhere. I'm not sure why this is happening.

Thanks for the help. I figured it out before I read all your posts. For anyone else having this problem, Here is what I did. Open your modular stairs script file, then right click on properties. Under security, to change permissions click edit. Click Add. In object types click user, then in the little window type your user name for your computer, in my case it's ldyvamp. then click ok. Back in the security section you should now see your user name. Highlight it and in the permissions for system you should be able to click on full control. This will check all the boxes to allow. Now you can change the script file and save/overwrite. It was quite easy to figure it out. I just had to know where to look. Hope I helped too.

O.k. guys I got sick of being tired and just went out and bought a new computer. My other one was on it's last legs anyway. Installed everything and it looks amazing. I got a dell 8100 with an ati video card installed. I can't believe what a difference! This system has 8 gigs. Everything looks so crisp and the playability is awesome! I had 11 sims at one house lastnight and this new computer didn't even break a sweat. Before it would take my game an hour to load with 30,000 downloads. This system takes 9 minutes! Wow! I am feeling sublimely happy now. Thanks to all who try to help me. This was just better as I was sick of beating my head against the wall. Consider this solved and thanks again!

I assume I am the administrator, If I am not how do I change it to be. I do have to type in my password at the start up screen. I just got windows 7 and don't know where anything is yet. I should have bought a windows 7 manual...lol

They showed up after I booted the game twice. Thank Goodness. I am having a different problem now though. I am trying to update my modular stairs script file and when I go to add the stairs in that file for the sims2 and then try to save it, it says access denied. Why isn't it letting me save?

I just got a new computer and installed all my games which went great. I am now running windows 7 and I can't seem to find my neighborhood, collection, saved sims, projects...etc. All these files that usually show up under ea games/thesims 2/mydocuments are not there. Only the downloads folder is listed under my documents. Is it setup differently for windows 7? I'd like to put in my neighborhoods I backed up.

How do I check the settings in BIOS to see if they need to be changed? It is still only registering 1 gig. I'd like to check this before I get a motherboard upgrade. I went and had the Intel update utility scan my computer and and it gives me this: Graphics driver is up to date. But the audio driver, Wireless networking and Wired networking drivers are not. All it says is: This device is unknown or unsupported. Please contact the manufacturer for possible updates. It does not give me a link or update the drivers I need. So I still need this updated: Intel (R) 82801DB PCI Bridge - 244E

Bloom you have been a godsend. I installed the new version of direct x you gave me and and updated the driver at the link I posted that you confirmed. With those updates I was finally able to get the game to run. It booted and I was able to play a little while and that darn blasted blue screen with the rotating hourglass came up again, even with this new video card so the problem as to be something else. I am pretty sure it my be this...
I found out that a driver for one of my system devices is out of date. It's this: Intel (R) 82801DB PCI Bridge - 244E Where can I find an update for this driver? I contacted Dell support and they won't even answer this question for me because my computer is no longer under warranty. If you could help me with this last thing, I would be so very grateful. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all your help!
