31  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: Eskimo, Buckskin, Warrior, Amazon type Clothes? on: June 22, 2009, 01:01:04 pm
Well, it's not pants and definitely not amazonian, but it's buckskin and long sleeved...maybe this?

That creater actually has several quite nice buckskin sets, and all free.

Or, if you have seasons, turn off winter?

I took a look at the gangstersims link rwills provided, and I think the hair she's looking for is found at #8 on that creator list, CocokissesNYC at TSR.

Here is the page they are on. http://www.thesimsresource.com/members/oldmember_CocoKissesNYC/downloads/browse/category/sims2-body-hair/

All of her creations are free.

I can't see the picture at all. It is a lot of braids, just like the bantu knots but longer, or when you say parted, is it in a couple of plaits like the styles here?

34  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: Denim Shorts!! on: June 19, 2009, 04:08:52 pm
Here are some at TSR (this creator's items are free) http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims2-clothing-female-teen-everyday/title/denim%20shorts/id/560377/

There are a lot of cute outfits with tops attached, but it sounded like you wanted bottoms only, so I didn't include any of those.

That seems to be one of the promo sims for Sims 3. Kim Kent.

It didn't work.  Sad

I think I'm just gonna have to live with these stupid wants. Thanks for the suggestions though!

Another want that just clogs up the want slots. Is this possible? I've searched through all of the hacks here, and haven't found where it has been requested yet. Sorry if I've missed it...

I have all expansion packs, and I think the only stuff pack I'm missing is Celebration stuff.
40  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: 1950s Stuff on: June 05, 2009, 04:45:49 pm
Look at shakeshaft's 50sretrokitchen files here at booty

grizzelda's swing dresses (free) http://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/Grizzelda/downloads/browse/category/sims2-clothing/search/swing/

Also, look through Shannanigan's sets (free) http://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/Shannanigan/
She has clothes, furniture, hairstyles, shops, everything.

Also, go to MTS2 and use search terms like "vintage", "retro" and "50s" or "1950s".

(My sims worlds are all 1930s-1950s, so if it's retro and it's free, I've plundered it.)
41  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: 1980's on: June 04, 2009, 11:17:54 pm
These aren't exactly in the pictures you gave, but I definitely remember these clothes from the 80's.

Radio Star by Xandher. Here it is free: download Radio Star @ booty

And this set by pretty_baby is free http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/details/category/sims2-sets-clothing/title/Flash%20Back%20part%202/id/771078/

As a matter of fact, most of her stuff has an 80's feel to it, and it's all free.

(I know. TSR. But when it's fabulous, it's fabulous. And if it's free...)

It's not a ton, but maybe it'll get you started.
42  Simmers' Paradise / Clothing & Body Mesh's / Re: REQUEST::A few Mexican things would be nice!!! on: June 02, 2009, 12:38:30 pm
Here is an 1800's dress from MTS2 http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=203467
as well as mariachi outfits (although you might be looking for something a little bit more ornate) http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=327684.

I don't know if you've checked there already, but the Prarie theme at All About Style has some really beautiful stuff, including some indian clothing. http://www.all-about-style.com/themes_prairie.html Definitely old west.

What color do you want?

Here's a black one http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=288686.

There are also a bunch by tabbylou at TSR. All of her items are free. http://www.thesimsresource.com/artists/TabbyLou/downloads/browse/category/sims2-objects/search/massage/

The whole set is here.
45  Simmers' Paradise / Objects & Recolors / carnival/fair games on: May 31, 2009, 10:59:05 pm
I'm building a boardwalk, and I remember playing games like foosball and airhockey on the boardwalk in my city when I was younger. I can't think of any animations that would allow those games, but I do think it would be possible to create a balloon darts game like you see in boardwalks/carnivals/fairs, etc. The dart board is there, the balloons from water balloon fights are there, both as full and popped (if they can be extracted), I just have no idea how to combine the two. If anyone thinks they can create something like this, it would be fantastic.

ETA: I realized it might also be possible to create a basketball hoop, backboard only, that could attach to a wall (like a picture) to play like the basketball games at the fairs. if that's not possible, maybe shortening the current basketball pole so it could fit inside of a room, like a carnie booth would have it.

Or ski-ball from the bowling alley? Just smaller? (I know I keep adding things - they're just occuring to me as I write. Sorry.)

On another note, if anyone CAN think of how to create foosball or air hockey, that would be wonderful, too!

Anyone up for the challenge? Creations for any one of these suggestions would be appreciated.
