This is done pretty easily in SimPE on the file of your recolor from your SavedSims bin.  You don't have to mess with the mesh at all.  You just have to change the gender in the Mesh Overlay XML like this:   gender (dtUInteger) from 0x00000002 to 0x00000001 which is for females

See:

As you can see by the small gap at the lobe, it doesn't provide a perfect fit like the male version, but I would think it would be close enough, right?  Matching one specifically to the skintone desired would make it barely noticeable.

Or, you can just download this one I did as a test to see if my theory would work, and just recolor this one so you won't have to mess with SimPE at all.

Sweeeeet!  I was hoping someone would do something like this because I hate recoloring!  They really look wonderful!

Thanks so much!

I replied back to the original posters PM with this:

Quote
I'm sorry ShadowGuardian, but I'm really opposed to TS3. I hate how limited that EA made the game for custom content creators, and I just really hate everything it stands for.

I'm really sorry, but I am strictly against anything I've made to be converted for Sims 3 usage. I really hope you understand, but I just can't support something like that. I've only given permission for one thing to be converted, and that's because it was a simple scaling of a TS2 object. The wings is something that I literally put weeks of my life into, and I just don't want that in TS3.

I really hope that this doesn't make me out to be some big huge douche or anything, but I just really dislike TS3.  And I hope that everyone respects my wishes on this topic.

6  Simmers' Paradise / Contests & Challenges / Re: Cool Finds for Contests! on: January 18, 2010, 09:58:30 pm
It's possible, I'll continue with it, just depends on the poses that this one includes.  Here's a preview pic of what a sim looks like on mine.

Unfortunately, I've had a set back on everything because my motherboard died on my PC.  I've gotten a new desktop since then, but I'm still working on getting all my stuff off the old hard drive.

At the very least, this will give me more options for poses on saddles.

OMG Joy!  Thanks so much for resurrecting this thread!  I've been in the process of making a pose object for horse riding, but I've only gotten two poses into it.  This is SOOOO much more indepth than I could have come close to making.  Love this!

Thanks!

Yes ArthaRose, they are fully recolorable.  Sorry I didn't respond sooner.

Very Awesome BlooM!  I'll be sure to link people over here to these.  I never thought that meshing would be easier than showerproof skins, but I've tried showerproofing, and it didn't agree with me, lol.  But people have been asking for this for a long time.  Thanks so much!

10  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Accessories / SynapticSim's Wings Accessory for Kids! on: March 12, 2009, 02:01:59 pm
Heya everyone!

I'm learning slowly but surely.  Today I have for you my wings mesh for Children sims.  They have been sized down appropriately so they don't look overwhelming on the little kids.  I have not yet figured out how to get them to work on toddler's yet, but I'm not giving up.  Although I am taking a break from it because it was driving me a little crazy.

Just as before, two meshes are available, one with the wings outstretched for flight and one with the wings folded down for rest.

They are available in the same colors as the other set:  White, Cream, Black, Red, and the base Parrot recolor.  They are fully recolorable.

They are wearable with other accessories and they also will stay on your sim no matter what category of clothing they are wearing.

Download the originals for Teenagers - Elders HERE.

MESH Info:

Faces: 1080
Vertices: 982

Policy:

You may include this mesh with your uploads, but please give credit to me, SynapticSim and provide a link either to this thread, or to my site, SynapticSim's Lair: http://s11.zetaboards.com/SynapticSims_Lair/index/ I would also love to see what you've done, so send me a PM or something

You may NOT include this mesh on any Paysite or The Exchange.

Enjoy!

Jelly what a beautiful and unique sim.  Thank you so much for sharing.

I find the domestic violence picture offensive and unacceptable.  Then you follow it with another picture of violence?  Why not just post your sim and keep your violent tendencies/fantasies to yourself.

Btw:  to no one in particular--if the pictures are acceptable because they were a part of a contest, why not show babies and children being beat up with a close up of their bloody faces? Child abuse happens too.  Would anyone be hurt by this?  Are children more taboo, or maybe it would be okay to show a dog or cat all bloody?  Is that okay because it's for a contest?  Where do you draw the line?  Just food for thought, nobody has to answer.

Oh goodness.  Then please don't look into any of the contests.  You would be mortified at what you saw.  Like some of my entries of'course, my loveable and cuddly Caitlin for example:

Or even my delightful Tristan:

I for one believe that keeping violent tendencies to ones self is probably a bad idea.  I find artful expression is a much better way to express those.  Wouldn't want them building up inside until one day you *snap*.  Nope nope.

You also might want to steer clear of this lovely upload at MTS2 {link}.  It's a baby BBQ.  You might pop a stitch in the skull if you go see that.  Hmmm, now that I think about it, there's probably a lot of places you shouldn't visit on the internet.  Any of the news sites, CNN, Fox, MSN, Yahoo, Google, .... wow, methinks that I would run out of space to list everything.  Maybe you should just unplug your ethernet cable all together.  And be sure not to turn on that television.  Can you imagine the horrors you would see on those shows, CSI, Law and Order, Ghost Whisperer, All My Children, Dr. Phil, OPRAH, goodness, there are just so many!  Oh, and don't even THINK about opening a newspaper.  Or even magazines.  Think of all the horrible things in US Weekly.

Hey, I'm just trying to look out for your best interest here.  It's probably best you keep your head stuck in that hole in the ground.  Oh crap, what am I saying.  You'd probably see worms and other insects with their cannibal instincts.  Oh my goodness.  I just don't know where you'll be safe.  I'm so sorry.  I hope you find a way to deal with all the horrible real life atrocities in the world.  If a pictures of a pixelated character sent you off on a tangent like this, I'd hate to run into you after the 10 o'clock news.  Good Luck!  Honestly.

I would say that yes, it was normal for the mesh to convert back to a sim when pregnant.  A mesh is just clothing after all, so it's just like them changing clothes.  I know absolutely nothing about creating preg morphs and past attempts have resulted in failure.

Sorry.

Thinner Werewolves are in the works.  I've got to complete testing and everything, but you can expect several new werewolf meshes.  However, they will probably be uploaded to my site, SynapticSim's Lair.  Stay Tuned.

Hi People!

I loved winged Sims as much as the next guy, but something always bothered me about them.  Most of the ones available are either flat as paper or move to artificially.  So for a while now I've longed for some wings that would make me happy.  Then one day a few weeks ago I had a brain storm!  (Dangerous, I know!)  I decided to go into the game files, steal the Parrot that came with the Pets EP, hack it's wings off and somehow attach them to a sim.

You can imagine my shock when it actually worked!?!?!

So without further ado, I bring you, SynapticSim's Wings Accessory!

As you can see they come in 5 wonderful colors, including the base Parrot color that can open the door for many types of recolors.  And you guessed it, they are fully recolorable.

Something else always bothered me about the wings.  Based on the ones available, you could either have some that were outstretched at all times, OR, you could have some that were folded down at all times.  However, neither of these looked the same, so if you changed from one to the other, it looked like you Sim had suddenly mutated their own wings.  So I decided once I could get the Outstretched Wings working, I'd also create some that were folded down.  Let's face it, if you had wings, wouldn't you get tired holding them out straight at all times?  Therefore, I bring you, SynapticSim's Folded Wings Accessory!

Now, you might still be asking yourself what's so special about these wings?  Well, that's my favorite part!  Some of the wings out there are attached to the sim via a central point on the back, or even assigned to the sims body via the head.  My wings however are assigned seperately to the shoulderblade on each respective side.  What does this mean for you?  When your Sim moves their left arm, the left wing will go in a similar direction, and visa versa.  When in action, it almost looks as if the wings act independently of themselves.  This also means no more wings suddenly shooting through the abdomen of the sim wearing them.  It really must be seen to understand, lol.

Obviously, there isn't a way around the fact that the wings will move through walls, furniture, and even sims.  Sorry, but there's just no way to prevent that.

Mesh Specifics:

Faces:  1080
Vertices:  982

You may NOT include this mesh on any Paysite or The Exchange.

Please Enjoy!

Edit:  I now have included the right files, the wings are now wearable with all categories of clothing.  Sorry!
