16  Simmers' Paradise / Modding Database / Community Effort on: August 21, 2005, 10:30:48 am
Hello,

There are a few things to keep in mind...

1. If you have no desire to teach or learn in this forum then please do not post here.
2. I invite anyone who is interested in teaching the who, what, when, where, how and why of simantics and/or the Sims 2 file structure, to join in and offer your input.
3. I am not much of a teacher so bear with me if I am as clear as mud at any given point in any thread.
4. The information posted in individual threads will become more extensive as knowledge and time permits.
5. Much of the information that will be found here can also be found in the Objects.package (Group: 0x7FE59FD0) file located in the Sims 2 Directory (not in the University EP Directory).
6. If information seems slow in coming, it is because I have little time to devote to the Sims 2 and I am involved in several projects that seem to eat up most of the time that I do have.

18  Simmers' Paradise / Modding Database / Play/Stop Sound Event [Simantics Primitive] on: August 21, 2005, 09:44:27 am
These are my notes on how the Play/Stop Sound Event primitive is used.    This is by no means a complete set of instructions for this primitive, but a work in progress.

Primitive: Play/Stop Sound Event (0x0017)
Text List: 0x00004132 - Sounds

ex. #1

• Operand 0 is the sound event string ID to be called in Text List 4132.
• Operand 5 starts or stops the sound event - setting this operand to 2 starts the sound event and 42 stops the sound event. I think that stopping the sound event is only necessary for looping sound events.

Feel free to offer your input and/or correct errors on my part.
19  Simmers' Paradise / Modding Database / Effect Stop/Start [Simantics Primitive] on: August 21, 2005, 09:42:16 am
These are my notes on how the Effect Stop/Start primitive is used.    This is by no means a set of complete instructions for this primitive, but a work in progress.

Primitive: Effects Stop/Start (0x0070)
Text List: 0x0000008F - Effect names
Text List: 0x00000090 - Model Bones

ex. #1

• Operand 0 starts or stops the effect - setting this operand to 0 starts the effect, 2 runs a looping effect through a single loop and stops, and 3 stops the effect immediately.
• Operand 1 and Operand 2 are used for the target sim/object that the effect is assigned to.
• Operand 5 is the Effect string ID to be called in Text List 8F.
• Operand 7 is the Model Bone string ID in Text List 90 that the effect is attached to.

Note: An object has to have Model Bones or you can't attach an effect to it.

Feel free to offer your input and/or correct errors on my part.
20  Simmers' Paradise / Modding Database / Animate Object [Simantics Primitive] on: August 21, 2005, 09:38:20 am
These are my notes on how the Animate Object primitive is used.  This is by no means a set of complete instructions for this primitive, but a work in progress.

Primitive: Animate Object (0x0069)
Text List: 0x00000086 - Object and Object to Adult animations (others?)

ex. #1

• Operand 1 is the animation string ID that is called in Text List 86.
• Operand 5 and Operand 6 are (in reverse order) the BHAV instance  (in the above case 0x101A) that is called during this particular animation. These operands are only used if you want an event to take place during a looping (?) animation.
• Operand 7 and Operand 8 are used for the target object that is being animated (?)

Feel free to offer your input and/or correct errors on my part.

2.) If you are a woman and you say "my meshes are getting bigger it's time to download some new bra's"

3.) If you say "I need to change into more comfortable recolors" during a date

feel free to add your input but please keep it appropriate for general audiences...  Smiley
