1  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF / Does it even exist? on: November 12, 2009, 02:42:47 pm
Not sure if this is even out there, although I hope so. What I'm after is a hack that allows you to choose the Surname of a child born to unmarried sims, as usually the game gives the child the mothers surname. Sometimes if the sims are living together then it would be better for the child to take the farther's surname.

So, is it out there? I've seen a similiar hack for marrying sims so hoping it's out there!

I had one last night that had me ROFLing for a while, My self sim and his family were just serving pork chops for dinner, as soon as they sat down his wife went into labour! Right by the side of the table and my self sim just kept eating! Never even looked up lol.

4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Cooks in Custom Dorm on: August 16, 2009, 09:46:12 pm
Ok, In uni I created a building, then used changelotzoning to make it into a Dorm. Now it works fine, Townies move in, everything is hunky dory apart from the cook. They turn up but just stand there. If I make one of my sims work in canteen the same happens. The sims can cook by themselves.

There's everything a sim needs, at least 5 free counters for preperation, but nothing.

Any ideas?

6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Residential to Community? on: July 30, 2009, 04:15:15 am
Hi,

I recently made a farm including outbuildings to sell off as a conversion to sims, now looking at it the Barn I made would make a brilliant community lot, perhaps a Night Club. Is their any way I can change it across without having to rebuild it in a community lot?

Thanks,
David.

If you have Seasons in that list, that will be the disk you play from because it will be your most recent expansion pack. The list is as follows for the game:

Sims 2 Base Game
University
Night Life
Open For Business

Pets
Seasons
Bon Voyage
Free Time
Apartment Life
Mansion and Gardens

Thank you Paden, the ones I have/ordered are in bold above, so it's a case of the last one will act to run all the others? If I was to stick the Uni disk in for example I'd only be able to use all the stuff from that pack and base game?

Just ordered Seasons and Open For Business for under £15 Delivered, really happy Cheesy

One question, Currently with Base, Uni and NL. Using the NL Disk still allows me to play Uni's extras as well. Which disk will I have to use to play all 4 EPs, or won't it make a difference?

10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Sims2 on Windows 7? on: July 19, 2009, 10:16:54 pm
Am looking at buying a new machine in the near future, now a lot are offering bundles including Windows 7, now I know it blows Vista out of the water (am on XP here and really dislike Vista). The question is will the game and expansion packs run ok on Windows 7?
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Laptop for Sims2 Gaming on: July 14, 2009, 05:14:34 am
I currently have Sims2, University and Nightlife, plus about 1.8gb of Custom content (mainly cars) and as a result my PC has slowed to 5-6 minutes to load a household. If I get a new machine I would prefer a laptop for portability and ease of use.

My question is weither the following machine would be able to play my current games, plus more expansion packs in the future (got my eye on a few more). Laptop Link. I ideally cannot spend much more than this.

Thanks.

The Radio thing won't stop angry angry angry The other day I had a Party DJ Sim drive home at 4am in her Escalade, and as soon as she got out she turned the bedroom radio on, where her husband was sleeping... Then he was too high energy to go back to bed, and by the time he was ready to go to work (as a surgeon) his motives were all low as I'd spent all night trying to keep them high!
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: What do you find irritating in the sims? on: July 03, 2009, 04:51:39 pm
What really gets me at times, is how sims always have to turn the radio on, in any room, at any time, and sometimes in several rooms at once.

I was playing a few minutes ago, my adult sim walked into the room where all 3 of her kids were sleeping, at 3am, and turned the radio on!!! Woke them all up, stupid...

Make them without marrying them, then move them into a lot and get them married there.

If you say you get the "Gift" option in Seasons, then I may just have to invest in a couple more EPs...
