46  Retired Creators / Casual : Vêtements décontractés / Winter coats, casual version on: January 03, 2007, 05:36:56 pm
Back to work after my long break/strike/holiday/whatever! Cheesy

Much needed at this time of the year, casual yet elegant warm outfits for your bodybuilders, inspired by a pic found on the net.

To my beta-testers: please replace your files with these, i fixed a clipping issue and the shoes noise.

A big thank you to Beosboxboy for beta-testing, making the canal side lot, and for the pics he took :love7:

47  Retired Creators / Merfolk Project:Le Peuple de la Mer / Merbabies and linked skintones - finally!! on: December 30, 2006, 07:45:25 pm
Genetic merfolk skintones for both genders and all ages including babies.

And now we can agree that this project is complete? Smiley

Ok - explanations, PLEASE READ:

- these mesh-linked skintones will allow your merfolk to keep their tail on when nude.
- all the nude meshes (merfolk-nudemeshes.rar)are in one folder for convenience, you can just drop the folder in your dowloads after extracting.  YOU MUST HAVE NIGHTLIFE OR A LATER EP TO USE SUB-FOLDERS IN THE DOWNLOADS FOLDER.  IF YOU HAVE ONLY THE BASE GAME OR UNIVERSITY EP YOU MUST COPY THE FILES IN THE FOLDER INTO YOUR DOWNLOADS FOLDER.
- the baby will grow a tail only when naked; it seems that the legend is that merbabies have a tail only in the water, so it should be fine - the mesh was uv-mapped in such a way that the scales won't appear on the legs.
- if you really want your merbaby to keep its tail all the time, you'll have to install the replacement package (MESH_ju-beos_merbaby-replacement.rar); but then all babies in the game will have a tail instead of the diaper...

- Ooopsie, forgot to say that the morphs are enabled; but like the clothing meshes, only the females have a pregnant morph; and the males grow muscle only when fit Smiley[/COLOR]

I'm aware that the choice is limited but I don't intend to make more, there's no way I can provide every combination - that's why I settled on neutral colours for the scales. Of course, you're welcome to clone these and make your own!

48  Retired Creators / Female Projects / Athletic girl : alpha editable shirt for SixStringSlim :) on: November 24, 2006, 04:48:04 pm
Still on strike or something, but I agreed to (read: jumped on) this request before the Pets fiasco.

These recolours aren't really spectacular, I'll just rely on SixStringSlim and our other brilliant skinners to make the best of this mesh Cheesy

The alpha part includes the torso (same length as the alpha nightie) and the flared part of the sleeves; I didn't make a full alpha in order to avoid clipping problems around the shoulders.
- The blue texture is for solid alphas (no blend), so no transparency - and no layering issues.
- The black recolour is for see-through textures (blend), but the sleeves cause unavoidable layering issues as shown in the pic below so they shouldn't be textured.

   C:\Documents and Settings\NomUtilisateur\Mes Documents\EA Games\Les Sims 2\Thumbnails - *Windows 2000 & Windows XP

ou

C:\Mes Documents\EA Games\Les Sims 2\Thumbnails - *Windows 98 & Windows ME

ou

Home/EA Games/Les Sims 2/Thumbnails - MacOS X

Smiley

EDIT 5 November 2006 22:36 (GMT -5:00):  Ceci a été signalé par MaryLou at MTS2
Quote from: MaryLou

Edit 4 December 2006: In reviewing Sims created with Body Shop from The Sims 2: Pets Expansion Pack it has been demonstrated that the customised face mesh of the character file (i.e., ########_########.package) suffers the same error as clothing and other items made with Body Shop. In those instances as this error has occured the Maxis default (un-customised) face is used. To restore the customised face mesh use the method described in the first post of this thread to restore the customised face to the downloaded Sim.

WHAT THIS PROCESS FIXES:

Some people among whom Numenor, Dr Pixel, Beosboxboy and myself have spent the last two days trying to figure out a fix for the thumbnails issue with Pets made clothing for people not having the EP installed.
After fruitless attempts on my own and testing different workable but not so easy fixes by Dr Pixel and Numenor, it finally clicked in when sharing thoughts with Yakov and I found a quick and easy method, even if you don't have much experience of SimPE (a huge thank you to Beosboxboy for the thorough testing and the pretty pics Cheesy):

- Open your recolour in SimPE
- select the property set line in the top right panel

- select the "parts = ........" line in the bottom left panel

- click "add" in the bottom right panel, this will duplicate the line to the bottom of the list

- this last line being selected

- type "outfit" instead of "parts" in the right panel - no other edit needed, the number is the right one

- click "commit" and save.

You'll have to delete your thumbnails before starting the game so the changes can properly apply to the items that were already installed.

Note: The thumbnails are the files located in one of the following directories   C:\Documents and Settings\YourWindowsScreenNameHere\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails - *Windows 2000 & Windows XP

   or

   C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Thumbnails - *Windows 98 & Windows ME

   or

   Home/EA Games/The Sims 2/Thumbnails - MacOS X

   * or what ever hard drive is your main Windows driveThis fixed all the files I tested, tops and full body outfits by Innocent, JayAngel, Engelchen and Cocosims (yay!!)
Now I didn't get to test this with the EP, there shouldn't be any issue but better safe than sorry... So it would be great if anybody with the EP installed gave it a try Smiley

EDIT: This fix has been shown to work with clothing, hair, and skin tones in installs of The Sims 2 with Nightlife EP, Open for Business EP, and Glamour Life Stuff installed.

This fix is useful for already made content, but Numenor added a "Legacy Bodyshop" option to his BaseGameStarter here , that allows to use the base game Bodyshop to create fully compatible clothing no matter which EPs are installed. Smiley

EDIT 5 November 2006 22:36 (GMT -5:00): This was mentioned by MaryLou at MTS2
Quote from: MaryLou
These problems there are partially when you creat a COMPLETE SIM too.

When you create a sim with Bodyshop and then you export him to share, in the Sims2Pack created by Bodyshop there are all the files the sim needs to work, this files are extract from BS so more of them have the new format code too.

So it bears reminding us all that using the Pets EP Body Shop will likely package the Sim in the Sim2Pack with misbehaving files; so please make especial effort to warn your downloaders that the Pets EP will be required for those Sims! There is a banner that I made available here for this purpose.

For those of your guys who aren't afraid of showing off!

4 recolours : The Rolex Explorer II in silver and gold, and the GMT Master II with a brushed steel band with a black or "pepsi dial" bezel.

Stackable with other accessories.

EDIT : works fine also with the athletic guy mesh

A different look for your bodybuilders, though it's nicely versatile in my opinion.Smiley

WARNING: this mesh requires NL or higher, the fourth assignments of the base maxis mesh were too convenient and I didn't want to spend ages finding a workaround using only three.

Bumpmap enabled.

VERY low rise, and it won't look good with just any skintone (Amun-Ra's Raphael uses Enayla's "deep earth" skintone).

This being said, enjoy!

Only one texture because I'm not that much inspired, and I must admit that it's a bitch to recolour when using transparency...

will no longer appear as both male and female - only female items.  You need to
download and install these edited versions of the files to correct the unisex
