46  Retired Creators / Guest Recolors / Unisex infant outfits (and one onesie) - IMPORTANT NOTICE 7.dec on: November 21, 2008, 08:19:32 pm
I know I've not done many unisex outfits - but here's a small bunch of them Smiley
I've got some more - but they'll have to wait a little until I've tested them.

IMPORTANT: the version of the outfits without the hat and pacifier NEEDS one of the three meshes showed here, since this is NOT one of Bloom's outfit meshes.

Read this before downloading:
1. NO additional meshes needed (except for the nohat version of the outfit), since the meshes are "built in"
2. REMOVE all other infant outfits - both recolors and meshes - or they will conflict with these ones. Put only ONE of the outfits in your downloads folder
3. The graphic setting SIM/DETAIL must be on high for the outfits to work correctly.
4. Put this in you Downloads folder (or defaults folder if that's what you use)
5. The clothes override the maxis diaper - but works just like it. They go off when you ask a sim to bathe the baby or change its diaper.
6. ALL infants will wear the outfit you choose - both girls and boys

7. Thanks Bloom Cheesy

found a bunch of onesies in my outfit folder. Some of them are requests, I think.
4 versions, as usual.

They're not tested ingame - simply because I don't have the time to do it right now. I've got a huge bunch of outfits that really needs testing, But I'm sure they should work just as fine as the other onesies I've made Smiley (though if there are any problems, just tell me, and I'll fix it as soon as possible)

Read this before downloading (so I can avoid questions that this text answers in detail):
1. NO additional meshes needed, since the meshes are "built in"
2. REMOVE all other infant outfits - both recolors and meshes - or they will conflict with these ones. Put only ONE of the outfits (one .package file) in your downloads folder
3. The graphic setting SIM/DETAIL must be on high for the outfits to work correctly.

5. The clothes override the maxis diaper - but works just like it. They go off when you ask a sim to bathe the baby or change its diaper.

50  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / adding texture/uv-mapping "all-age" accessories on: October 24, 2008, 03:37:46 pm
hello Smiley

I'm very new to meshing and making objects to sims2 (I know how to mesh, but that's pretty much it) and now I'm wondering about a few things.

I'm trying to make an accessory for all ages  - but I'm totally new when it comes to using milkshape, and can't really figure out how to UVmap the texture - or how to put a texture on it at all (I'm new to UV mapping too - but I can do it with simple meshes, and the one I've got is quite simple).

I cloned an all-age accessory, and put my own mesh on top. I know I have to scale it for child and toddler - but I found a perfect cloning mesh for this, that tells me about how much I have to scale, and where I have to move the mesh for it to go to the correct place. But now I'm unsure whether the meshes needs different UV maps - or if I can use the same for all the ages - and how to do that at all.

I'm one of those people that usually have troubles putting together things in new ways (aka. reading a tutorial, and use it in a new way) - and all the different tutorials are really confusing me, since none of those I've found tells me anything sensible. (though, if there's a tutorial out there that explains this in a good way, then I might figure it out somehow - I've come so far without much use of a tutorial...)

oh, and does anyone know how to navigate in milkshape (moving around in the viewports)? whatever I do, the wireframe ones won't move, and the 3D one is not much better... I've only got the touchpad on a laptop, since there's something wrong with the USB ports on my laptop so I can't use a mouse if that's what I need.

and finally - do new (cloned) accessories need new guids?

Can anyone help me?
51  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / troubles with changelotzoning code on: October 19, 2008, 01:09:58 pm
I tried the "changelotzoning residential" code for the first time today, but now the lot is messing up. (If I managed to write the code wrong here, it's just because I'm tired - I'm 99% sure I wrote it correctly in the cheat window, and as far as I know, my game don't need any typing in caps, since all the codes up until now worked without)

I tried to change a community lot to a residential lot - but it was only halfway successful.
I went into the community lot, did a couple of furniture changes, typed the code, and saved the game. Then I went to the neighborhood view again. I moved in the family who are supposed to live there - but when the lot finally finished loading, the family wasn't there, and the lot behaved like an empty (aka. no one living there) residential lot. I tried going back to the neighborhood view, and by the looks of it, the family lived on the lot - so I tried going into the lot again. But the same thing happened. The mailbox and the garbage can weren't there either - but the community phone booth still was there.

Anyone got a clue about what's going on? I'm almost sure I've forgotten something important -but like I said, it's the first time I've tried the code.

thanks for any help Smiley

Here is a combination of Disney/Sesame street onesies, requested by Impishparody.

4 versions, as usual.
They're not tested ingame - simply because I don't have the time to do it right now. But I'm fairly sure they should work just as fine as the other onesies I've made Smiley

53  Simmers' Paradise / Content Creation & Recoloring Help / Meshing and 3D programmes on: September 19, 2008, 06:46:23 am
I'm quite new to meshing, and I've never tried making meshes for sims before - but I want to learn how to.

so I'm wondering if anyone here knows the answer to a few questions:

* is it possible to import meshes from one 3D programme to another when they use different formats (like 3dsmax or *.max files into milkshape or Blender)?

* And can I use 3Dstudio max for making meshes instead of Milkshape or Blender? If not - which 3D programme is the best one to use (of the free ones - or others)? And do I need any extra plugins for SimPe with any of them?

Thanks for any help Smiley
54  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Mixed Clothing / 11 Infant blankets on: August 13, 2008, 04:09:24 am
hey you all Smiley

I simply adore Tenshii's blanket meshes, and I've made a bunch of recolors for them. Here is the second upload, a set of 11 blankets in different colours and patterns.

There are two versions - hat and without hat.

I hope you like them Smiley

Read this before downloading:
1. NO additional meshes needed, since the meshes are "built in"
2. REMOVE all other infant outfits - both recolors and meshes - or they will conflict with these ones. Put only ONE of them in your downloads folder
3. The graphic setting SIM/DETAIL must be on high for the outfits to work correctly.
4. Put this in you Downloads folder (I put mine in a sub-folder named baby clothing, so it's easier to find it)
5. The clothes override the maxis diaper - but works just like it. They go off when you ask a sim to bathe the baby or change its diaper.
6. ALL infants will wear the outfit you choose - both girls and boys[/B]
7. Thanks Tenshii, for the mesh Cheesy

hey you all Smiley

I simply adore Tenshii's blanket meshes (well, I did request them, after all...), and I've made a bunch of recolors for them. Here is the first upload, a set of nine quilted blankets in different colours (I think I have a few more colors, but they have to wait for the next upload)

There are two versions - hat and without hat. the colors on those without hats are quite similar to each other, but It was a lot easier to just make NOHAT versions of them too.

I hope you like them Smiley

hey you all Smiley

these were requested here, by Dunceling.

hope you like them Smiley
I've made some dresses too, but they're not tested yet. Have to work a bit with my story before my computer goes into hibernation again...

update 3.oct: added version with pacifier - but without hat

IMPORTANT: the version without the hat and pacifier NEEDS one of the three meshes showed here, since this is NOT one of Bloom's outfit meshes.

Read this before downloading:
1. NO additional meshes needed (except for the nohat version of the outfit), since the meshes are "built in"

58  Retired Creators / Guest Recolors / 2 infant dresses and 6 outfits. (No, I'm not done yet...) on: July 27, 2008, 04:15:23 pm
hey you all!

yet another post with infant outfits... And I do have more!
just posting these now that my computer has a good day. Yesterday I couldn't even get the computer started...

the dresses (normal/pacifier) are in a separate zip file, while all versions of the outfits are in one file (hat, hat + pacifier, without hat/pacifier)

With the exception of the dresses and the pink one, the outfits are more or less unisex.

3. The graphic setting SIM/DETAIL must be on high for the outfits to work correctly - the dresses will not work correctly otherwise.
4. Put this in you Downloads folder (or defaults folder if that's what you use)
5. The clothes override the maxis diaper - but works just like it. They go off when you ask a sim to bathe the baby or change its diaper.

59  Retired Creators / Guest Recolors / hospital outfits for infants on: July 22, 2008, 03:18:16 pm
hey again!

this time I've got a few infant hospital outfits, something alike the ones I used in "Little Fire Burning".

I only did a blueish version - because I really think it can be used as unisex.

there are three versions:
hat
hat and pacifier
neither hat nor pacifier

and here are oxygen tubes that goes with them, if you want.

Read this before downloading:
1. NO additional meshes needed, since the mesh is "built in" (the one in the middle uses the maxis diaper mesh)
6. Both infant boys and girls will use the outfits - the game doesn't make a difference between infant girls and boys.

6. Thanks Bloom Cheesy
60  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Make Up / oxygen tubes (all ages - including infant!) on: July 22, 2008, 03:17:48 pm
Hi!

here are oxygen tubes for toddler through elder (facemask).

(here portrayed by Aidan - from "Little Fire Burning")

I also added texture files for people that wants to make infant skintones with oxygen tubes for the babies. These files are ONLY texture files, and will not add anything to your game. for using them, just make a new skintone project in bodyshop, drag the top layer over to the infant face file (in photoshop or any other picture editing programme that can work with layers and transparent backgrounds) while holding the SHIFT button in (in photoshop this will make the layer snap to the correct place at once - if this don't work, you must move the layer manually to where you want it to be), flatten the layers, and save.

it will look like this ingame. (The one pictured is the LEFT one - I included a right-side one too)
