I promise I am working on it. I need to do a re-install (moving my games to my external), which will take some time. Work+kids=lack of time... I apologize for the lag. I have off tonight and tomorrow and have a couple other things that need dealing with. If all else fails and I don't get him done when I am planning to (which would be tomorrow at some point) I swear up and down that he will be done by next weekend. If something drastic happens (like my husband needing to go in for more surgery) I will let you know ^^

Granted, however you discover after spending it all that you forgot that cash prizes over $500 require a minimum tax payment of 10%. That's 100 million you now have to repay to your government :-)

I wish i could have more than 3 days off >.>

9  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: Italian/Tuscan/Venetian Build/Buy objects? on: May 12, 2011, 05:11:08 am
Wong, yes, I went there and was able to get pretty much everything they had that suited my needs.

Ancient, other than just saying build and buy objects I have no idea really on how to narrow it down. I need everything from fences to doors and windows, to beds and toilets. As far as downloading lots, I really try to make a point not to do that simply because I have had some very bad experiences with downloading lots in the past, either they crash my game or gum up my hard drive (which is very small, only 22 gigs). If I knew a way to narrow it down other than listing off everything I already have, I would.

Edit: Almost forgot to say anything about period vs. Italian pieces. As far as build objects go I would like them to be period, buy objects it doesn't matter either way because the idea is that it is a 500-year-old villa that has been remodeled. Of course, any piece that looks authentic would work.

Pictures.

I have been looking around several sites for quite a few days now. I have even checked the Sims CC wiki and googled... unfortunately there is not much out there outside of lots that I can find and I don't want pre-built lots since this is for a specific project... Can anyone lend a hand?

Actually, hubby called on his lunch and walked me through it. I got the system restore to work (it wouldn't work when I tried, I got a bunch of pop-ups saying a critical file was infected and the system restore wouldn't go). It just involved a lot of fast clicking before anything would happen.

Thanks to everyone who helped, I greatly appreciate it!

Well, I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I recently got a new desktop, so I tossed all my sims 2 stuff on Mediafire for redownload. Well, when I went on to get some more of my stuff, one of the pop-up ads so happened to be one of those virus/spyware thingies. As soon as I noticed it, I closed it out, like any smart person and went to scan my computer with my antivirus, and lo and behold, it detected something but when i tried to block it, it came up with an error saying that the file needed to block the virus was infected.

I need someone who knows how to clear out a hard drive without system restore or autorun (I can't do anything on it). If anyone can help before 5pm CST it would be greatly appreciated. If, not, I'll just have hubby do it when he gets home.

If your father is an interior designer, that might give you an edge, since he could help recommending you.

Actually, he's in construction, he would be a contractor if he had the schooling for it  Sad I'll see what he has to say. I hardly do anything without his OK anyhow.

theraven, interior design. Like matching the paint on the walls to the flooring, the matching drapes to highlight/accent the contrasts. I'm pretty good at it, I worked alongside my dad when I was a kid and my dad, he is usually very critical, said i had talent in it. Of course, I was 15-16, and then wanted to be a nurse....

theraven, thank you for your suggestion, but I don't even know where to BEGIN putting a portfolio together. The only interior design I have done is on the sims. My income is severly restricted, I cannot afford to renovate even my small apartment.
OBretterBO, As for community college, the one in my area is way beyond my expenses, I know $340.00/class including books is cheap, but I can't even afford that.  And with two young children and a hubby working 2 jobs, I am worried I will not even find the time to take online courses. Also, I don't have a bank account nor enough money to begin one, so that certainly rules out online.

My father and stepmother have offered to help out, but he is currently laid off on his job and they are struggling as it is, on top of sending my 18-year-old brother to Ashland College, a private school where one semester costs upwards of $240,000, not including books. I don't feel that it would be proper to ask him, especially with our relationship not being the greatest.

As for my mother and stepfather, they always say they would help if they could. There are rumors of divorce there, and they are always giving excuses not to help me when I really need them.

I don't qualify for any grants or scholarships (sadly).
