1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Denied access to simpacks!! on: June 16, 2011, 08:31:32 am
I already had M&G but had to get a new disk because the old one was so scratched.  I bought a combo pack that included Pets, FF and M&G.  I only installed FF and M&G.  I've never used clean installer and don't know how to use it.  I just tried to download the net thing from microsoft and it said it conflicted with a version I already had.  Clean installer says I need the net thing in order for it to run.  Do you know of a good tutorial for clean installer?
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Denied access to simpacks!! on: June 16, 2011, 08:07:02 am
I've just re-installed M&G and have restored from back up all my CC.  When I tried to re-install things like lots, floors and walls that are in simpack files I get a denied access box.  I've been re-installing from back up for years and have never had this problem.  I am using a new M&G disk that includes Pets and Family Fun.  I only installed FF and M&G.  I even tried a fresh download of one of the lots to see what would happen and I'm still denied access.  In all the years that I've been Simming, I've never had this problem.
3  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF: A wallpaper/carpet set *Found* on: October 11, 2010, 11:37:09 am
I used to have a beautiful wallpaper/carpet set that came in three colors; ecru, crimson and cerulean.  Each color had several variations for the paper and carpet.  The word "damask" was also in the name.  I could have sworn I got them at TSR but I have searched and searched and cannot find them there.

Thank you Gitte.  Those are exactly the ones I was looking for.
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Re: Is there a way to load the game so that the disc is not required everytime? on: October 07, 2010, 12:31:21 pm
I didn't mean to do anything wrong or ask for anything illegal.  I'm not looking for a hack or crack or whatever the heck you're talking about.  I guess my question should have been: Would doing a custom installation instead of the standard one, enable me to play without the disk or not?  I have never tried the custom installation so I don't know what it would or would not enable me to do.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Is there a way to load the game so that the disc is not required everytime? on: October 06, 2010, 10:39:20 am
Suddenly my M&G disc doesn't want to load.  I'm not sure if it's the disc or the cd drive.  It doesn't really matter which because I can't afford to fix either one.  So, is there a way to custom load the game so that the disc is not required and is so do I have to reload all of the ep's and stuff packs or just the one that I usually use as the game play disc (M&G)?

Thanks for the response.  I didn't mean to break any rules.
6  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Sim Hunks / Re: Christopher on: September 05, 2010, 07:40:35 pm
I absolutely love Christopher!  Can you tell me exactly what hair you used from yagisims?  I would really like to have it in other colors.

Edited to add:  I ended up finding the hair purely by accident from somewhere.

9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Beach lot sunbathing towel shadow. on: August 25, 2010, 08:22:00 pm
I love playing beach lots but everytime a sim sunbathes it leaves a black shadow behind which can be seen in the neighborhood view.  It wouldn't bother me that much except that each of these spots that a sim has sunbathed in now acts like an object is still there sometimes blocking access to something else.  My sims are always sneaking off to sunbathe and I never realize how much they've done it until I return to the neighborhood view and see all those black shadows.  Does anyone know anything about these black shadows and how to get rid of them?
10  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / Re: WCIF: a mod or hack for raising the level of a posed sim onto the bed etc.? on: August 25, 2010, 11:22:57 am
I don't know if these http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=317716&c=1are the shelves you are talking about but they sound like they'll do the trick.  Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the info.  These are the mods I already have: JB1-OMSP-Bed, (and other heights), LdDarcy_MaxisMoreDecoSlot_Armoire-SlotOverlap, (and other heights), and OMSP-cofeetableariffrazalin, (and other heights). All of these came from MTS2.   My problem is I can't get the sim posed on the floor to snap up to the top of the position post.  I've tried to raise the video game set too and can't get that to raise either.  I have BG, NL, Uni, BV, with stuff packs: GL, H&M, Ikea and M&G.  I feel like I'm missing something or maybe what I want to do isn't possible because of ep's I don't have.

I've been looking at all the wonderful images that people are posting and I'm learning a lot of stuff.  I've downloaded mods that can place objects just about anywhere.  Now I need one that can take a posed sim and set them on another surface of a different height.  I've seen the OFB one but I don't have OFB.  In a post I read somewhere (too many posts, too many sites to remember) the creatore of the image said they used "ostmp hack."  Does this ring a bell with anyone?  Thanks a bunch.

14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Unlearning tai chi on: August 16, 2010, 09:26:34 am
I have a nice young couple who are making their way in simland.  During college they learned how to perform tai chi.  Now THEY DO IT ALL THE TIME!  Is there anyway to have them unlearn it?
