16  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Mixed Clothing / World of Warcraft Paladin Judgment Armor on: February 17, 2014, 11:00:27 pm
So, this is the first time I've posted a file, so be nice...

This is the Judgement Armor from World of Warcraft. This armor, introduced in summer 2005, is exclusive to the paladin class and nearly nine years later remains one of the most popular armor sets in the game. Now your Sims can wear it too! This outfit is for adult males and females. The female model comes with fat and pregnant morphs. The male one is just standard (sorry). The hood should work for your YA and Elders as well.

IN THE WORKS is a male version with hooves for your Tauren or Draenei Sims. (Since you can't see the feet on the female version, I'm not going to bother.)

Here's a picture of the female version while pregnant:

Credits and Technical Info
Male mesh was created by combining the SBB mesh by Marvine (downloaded from The Dark Project as the knight) and the wizard robe from the Dark Project. Female mesh was created from the AF Long Dress mesh found in the Adult Female Default Meshes w/Pregnant Morphs (v1.1) by themysticalone. My meshes, however, are new meshes that include the shoulder armor. When using the hood, make sure you pick hair for individual outfits, and then choose a bald or close-cropped hairstyle for Everyday, Formal, and Outerwear.

Shoulders for both meshes and hood were extracted from WoWModelViewer and imported into the Sims as is. The shoulders are attached to the clavicle bone, so they should move will with most animations, but you'll see some clipping when your Sim raises his/her hands up in the air. I felt the restricted movement was overall more realistic than what you see in WoW (where the shoulder armor will turn upside down and stick out of your character's armpit when their hands are in the air).

Textures were also extracted from WoWModelViewer and were hand-tortured onto the models by me. I apologize if anything looks a bit off. I also apologize if they look pixelated or messy at all - I tried to clean them the best I could, but the truth of the matter is that Blizz uses teeny textures (ie, 64x128 pixels) to cover massive sections of the body, so stretching them out to Sims-size is going to mess with them. Sad

I do not represent Blizzard or have explicit permission to use their meshes and textures, but I'm banking on the idea that this is fan art being used in a game that's even older than theirs so they won't come after me. tongue That said, obviously you should not upload to pay sites, because that would definitely be in violation of copyright.

I confess, that I'm bumming around this website and obsessing over meshing because my mom just got diagnosed with 3 kinds of cancer and this is the only thing that is helping me cope.

I kinda posted in a couple random places before I realized there was a welcome board. Ooops. But HIIIII anyways!

I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3, twin girl kindergartners and a 2 year old boy. I played the Sims 1 with all the expansions, and now I have the Sims 2 with all the expansions. I refuse to touch the Sims 3, though - I'm one of those people who likes to god-mode and control an entire neighborhood, so people doing stuff on other lots while I'm not playing them would be pretty much the worst thing ever. Plus, I can't bear to part with all my custom content!  Grin

I'm a big nerd: I play World of Warcraft, roleplay in Dungeons & Dragons, watch Star Trek and read tarantula-killing fantasy novels. I love using the Sims to flesh out the stuff in my imagination - I have neighborhoods for both my World of Warcraft characters and my D&D characters.

I'm not very good at making my own custom content, but after a couple weeks of wrestling with Milkshape, I think I might have something I can upload soon, so stay tuned. Smiley

I don't know what else to say, sooooo... um, hi!

I've merged all your replies to yourself into one thread. Next time, can you please use the modify button to edit your post, instead of replying to yourself three times within a couple of hours? We generally like people to wait for 24 hours before replying instead of modifying (if they're the last person to post in a thread).

My apologies! Many other message boards I've been on have had limits to the number of pictures you could have in one post and I just assumed that it was the case here. I hope I didn't make a bad first impression!

I must say, now, I love your Sims 2 gnome. I think they're cute in WoW, but I just can't bring myself to play them. XD
Thanks! The bummer is, though, that since their skeletons are so squashed, it's hard to get good pictures. Lots of the animations look kind of funny.  Cheesy

Just like to make a request - could someone check over the "Affiliates" and "Other Great Sites" links to make sure they still work? I clicked one (Sim Oasis) to try to browse to more Sims content, and...  Escape if anyone knows a good supplier of brain bleach, let me know.  Lips Sealed
25  Simmers' Paradise / I Want My Own Thread / World of Warcraft Sims on: February 01, 2011, 12:44:15 pm
So, I've been playing World of Warcraft almost as long as I've been playing Sims 2. (Sims 2 came out Sept 2004, WoW came out in November). I play on a roleplaying server (Feathermoon), so each of my characters has a colored backstory and personality. Almost all roleplaying, though, is text-based, since the models are limited in what they can do unless they're fighting. There's a lot of time with the avatars just standing and staring at each other.  tongue

Enter Sims 2, where the models can do pretty much anything (well, the fighting pales to WoW, but that's to be expected)! I like to recreate my World of Warcraft characters as closely as I can. Sometimes I just like to take screenshots, but sometimes it's fun to set up their personalities and all and then see how they interact with everyone else. I use and abuse SimPE a lot to give them memories, hobbies, likes & dislikes, etc.

In this thread, i'll post my screenshots from WoW, followed by screenshots from the Sims, so you can judge how well or poorly I did. Wink

Corrienda and Galedorin
Corrienda is my night elf druid, and Galedorin is her warrior boyfriend. WoW screenshot:

I am very grateful to marvine & Beosboxboy for their huge bodybuilder mesh!! Sims screenshots:

Here are a couple random other ones. You can click the link to see a picture of their model as they look in game right now.
Zharia, human warrior:

She's changed her hair since I did this Sim, but she specifically requested the big old tattoo on her face, something that cannot be represented in WoW.

Moonfalora, night elf druid:

Kaetta, gnome mage. First the WoW screenshot, then the Sims one:

Tarquin, human rogue and Ceil, night elf rogue:

He's grown a beard in the mean time, and I can't remember why on earth I put her in a dress. Oh well.

Lightlance, dwarf warrior:

I'd kind of like to redo him, but I guess he's not bad.

Stormforged, night elf warrior:

DEFINITELY want to redo him. He deserves to be at least a LeanBB.

And here's a random draenei Sim, not based on anyone, but included because I'm so damn proud of the tail and horns:

(Still working on the chintacles though, as well as anything that's not a floor-length dress tongue)

Duerma & Pizmo
Duerma is my narcoleptic gnome warlock. Pizmo is her husband. Here's some WoW screenshots first:

And now the Sims! (My apologies for the poor quality of pictures - I realized I had my settings set to crappy AFTER I took them all. *facepalm*)

Here's a picture of Duerma playing with their daughter - something that can't be represented at all in WoW:

Sadly, when my computer crashed, I lost a lot of the custom content I used for these three, so they aren't displaying right. SO SAD.  Cry
26  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Re: Do you still play and enjoy Sims 2! on: January 28, 2011, 05:13:17 pm
I don't know if I've ever actually posted here, or just lurked to download stuff.

But yes, I play the Sims 2. And I rely heavily, if not exclusively, on custom content. I like recreating my World of Warcraft characters, my D&D characters, and other fantasy and medieval stuff. I've tried making my own meshes and recolors, but I'm really kind of artistically sucky.  Embarrassed So having a community of modders is a huge deal for me! You help me tell my stories!

I'm never going to buy the Sims 3. It has too many drawbacks for me.
