Myself and and a friend of mine have found what we think is a problem with NewLTWEnabledEP5 when we have this Mod installed we both get an Unnamed Wantable appearing in the wants of our Fortune Sims. 

My Fortune Sims have a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10098> or a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096> or a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096>.

All Wants that are items that are from BV.

Could you please update the Want files so that they understand BV items for EP6, Mac users like me and my friend can't use your next update of this really excellent Mod.

I love the Mod and I would not want to do with out it.

However when I have the Mod installed, there is a somewhat annoying problem that occurs with some of my Fortune Sims. They have a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10098> or a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096> or a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096>. Only Fortune Sims get the wants it seems.

I gather that this is because the Want files don't know about BV and the items that were added with it.

Can something be done to get this Mod to be BV aware?  I am a Mac user so updating to FT is not an option. Please would you update it to EP6 for Mac users like me?

What is Object Category 10096 and what is Object Category 10098 and what is Object Category 10097? I ask because some of my Fortune Sims have a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10098> or a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096> or a want to buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096>. Only Fortune Sims get the want and not all Fortune Sims.

Besides being curious as to what these object categories are, I would also like to know how to get rid of them.

I posted my tutorial on the Downloads folder and downloading for Macs that includes The Sims 2: Super Collection. I hope that people find it helpful.

I hope that you all like it. 

Custom Content or CC is placed in The Sims 2/Downloads folder, but the Location is different depending on if you have the Disc version of The Sims 2 or The Sims 2:Super Collection.

Note: on Macs the  ~ means Users Home Folder. So in the directions you see the ~ character it means that the following Folder is contained in the User's Home Folder what ever it might be named.

For the Disc version it is easy to find and it is ~/Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads

If the Downloads folder is not there then create a folder with the Name "Downloads" with out the quotes and then see Step 2 below.

If you have The Sims 2:Super Collection like I do then the proper folder is not easy to find, it is Located here: ~/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2/Downloads

To get to the proper directory you press cmd+shift+G or go to the Finder->Go Menu->Go to Folder and then type this in to the box:

~/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2

Next when you are in The Sims folder make a new folder with the name Downloads

Step 2

Next make a subfolder inside the Downloads folder and name it Mods for the Mods that you download and make a subfolder named Clothes for the clothes and the same for Hair, Vehicles, etc.

Keeping things inside of subfolders is a very good idea it makes it a lot easier to find something when you need to find it or test it, I also organize by Creator so for example /Downloads/Mods/InSIMenator.

Step 3
Extract the downloaded files and place them in the proper Directory, most go into your Downloads folder, but look at the directions if there is one, i.e. Terrains would go into the SC4Terrains folder.

Downloaded files are usually compressed and in .RAR or .ZIP or .7z formats and the best solution for Mac users is The Unarchiver which is free found on this page http://unarchiver.c3.cx

However Sims2Packs require you to use The Sims™ 2: Package Installer, which you need to download from Aspyr if you haven't already.

Note: The Clean Installer is PC only.

Note: Lots and Sims are in .Sims2Pack format and if unfortunately the Lot or the Sim was created with anything newer than Bon Voyage like Free Time or Apartment Life it will not work and you will get an error message.

After you extract the file, you should have a folder with files or a file with a name ending with .package, like:

sometimes_not_descriptive_name.package

These .package files you move into one of the subfolders in the Downloads folder depending on what kind it is clothes go into the clothes subfolder etc., if it is a folder move the entire into one the proper sub folders. If you don't have a sub folder for that type of item then make one first.

You can delete the .RAR, .Zip or .7z file, but it is wise to save these files in a back-up folder in case something goes wrong.

Me I backup my entire The Sims 2 folder onto a different drive, in case something goes wrong. Word to the Wise Make Backups!

I am a Mac using player who knows Macs and The Sims 2 fairly well. I would like to Add a New Post to a locked topic in Mac-Users Only Peer Support -> Where do I place the files I just downloaded? The information in it is outdated and no longer correct and I would love to be able to add a new post that explains where the Downloads folder needs to be for the current The Sims 2 :Super Collection as well as the older disk based The Sims 2.

I am not asking to be a Mod, I am just asking for someone with Mod privileges to unlock the topic temporarily so I can post my updated information and then the topic can certainly be locked again.

Could one of the Mods contact me on this, please?

Well also late, but I still wanted to say Hi. I am also a new member.

I really keep the number of Downloads limited, currently I only have 2.97 GB. I like to keep the load time down for one thing. I do have All Downloads organized by Type and Creator in subfolders. Also I have an iMac, lol.

I found that when the Golden Anniversary LTW Servo Fix MOD was installed that I would also get the Golden Anniversary LTW for my Popularity Sims.

Yeah I am am around most days of the week. So if there is someone that wanted to find a Mac using Sims 2 guy that would be me.

consider checking Read and Write Permissions, the Neighborhood Pic not showing up is a sign of something wrong with the Folder or File Permissions.

Oh Thanks so very much for the links and the info you included.  I think I know how to fix it now.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of a Special "*Talk" Menu with its one entry: Cory's Group Talk? It is not that bad, but I find it kind of lame and I wish to get rid of it.

It happened after I was playing around with clicking the entries on Spawn Menu and trying to make note of what it does so that I include the info in a list for myself.

Since I discovered I had a similar crash when the NewLTWEnabledEP5 was not loaded, and I did not have the crash with out any CC at all. I decided to test all of my CC including the Mods in NewLTWEnabledEP5. Result was that I now haveNewLTWEnabledEP5  in my regular game, but I wish it didn't remove the possibility of the LTW of Earning 100 000 Simoleans.

Squinge  since you noted that you fixed the Earn Lots of Money which was set at 200 000 in NewLTWEnabledEP7, does that mean that NewLTWEnabledEP5 has earn lots of money at 200 000?

Edit: Never Mind I have found that the LTW of Earning 100 000 Simoleans is in NewLTWEnabledEP5 and also it seems to work quite well, thanks very much Squinge!
