1  Simmers' Paradise / Hair / Can someone please convert TheRaven's baby hair to Sims 3? on: July 08, 2017, 01:13:34 pm
I've hoped for a long time that someone would do as good a job with Sims 3 baby (infant, not toddler) hairs as TheRaven did for Sims 2, but there really hasn't been a lot of interest in baby hair from content creators out there. That I know of there are only a handful of hairs for Sims 3 babies at all, and half cause weird issues with the graphics of the game so basically QuizicalGin's and Quianna's are the only safe ones.

Would any content creator be willing to convert some or all of TheRaven's hairs (found in this thread http://www.insimenator.org/index.php?topic=100298.15) so our poor babies can finally have nice hair on their bald little heads?

Thanks so much!!
2  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF no autonomous TV channel changing for AL? on: May 27, 2011, 04:37:04 pm
I've tried squinge's mod for EP7 on the off chance it might work (some mods do work for later EPs) but this one doesn't Sad

So does anyone know of a mod for Apartment Life that will keep sims from changing tv channels?

FTR, I have all EPs and Stuff packs.
3  Retired Creators / Guest Recolors / Christmas Recolor of a Bloom baby outfit mesh on: December 22, 2009, 08:35:47 pm
Hi
I've done a red and green recolor of one of bloom's infant meshes for Christmas. It has stripes and a white reindeer on the chest.

This is what it looks like typically

But if you'd prefer the hat not to show up like this (perhaps so you could have a hair also found here at IS as shown)

you need to download the mesh (but not the recolors) in this thread http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=278731 too and keep it in the same folder as the one in this thread. I have no idea why doing this removes the hat, just that it does. Nor do I know why having the two files in seperate subfolders results in the hat appearing anyway. Just go with it. Smiley

The fine print:
1. as with all baby outfits, you can only have one recolor in your download folder at any given time. All babies born in your game will get this outfit.
2. because of #1 do not upload this outfit to the exchange. If you upload a house with this outfit in your downloads folder, everyone who downloads the lot will get the outfit, and many will have no idea what happened or how to get rid of it. So let's avoid that, shall we?

p.s. if you'd like the nursery in the pictures, go here http://sims2artists.sublimesims.net/smf/index.php?topic=1898.msg37450#msg37450
4  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF Floor tiles that match Maxis Roofs? on: November 28, 2009, 09:49:25 pm
I'm hoping this exists... I'd like to find some floor tiles that are the same pattern as the roofs that maxis made. That way I can use these floors to cover the part of the flat topped roof that they leave un-tiled for no good reason.

Thanks
5  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF a hack to keep sims from changing tv channels? on: September 29, 2009, 06:39:34 pm
I'm pretty sure such a hack did exist...at one time. Is there a hack that will keep sims from changing TV channels on their own? So far the only AL/M&G compatable hacks I've found just keep them from turning the TV on themselves.

I have all expansions and stuff packs.
6  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF Big houses *Without* basements? on: September 19, 2009, 02:07:23 pm
I usually end up making my own houses because I hate houses with basements. But maybe I'm not alone... can anyone recommend houses - your own creations or other people's - that they like that have a lot of bedrooms (I usually play family sims) and no basements? Any style is fine as long as the house can accomodate a large family.

Thank you Smiley

Edit: Sorry, I have all eps and all stuff packs
7  Simmers' Paradise / Where Can I Find...? / WCIF a hack for setting business hours? on: August 18, 2009, 12:12:04 pm
Is there an Open For Business hack that allows you to set the hours your home business is open? Like setting the business to close at 9pm and open again at 8am automatically?

Edit: to avoid confusion - I'm not looking for a mod that calls employees in for a set shift. I thought I'd note that before someone suggested the hack at Sims Wardrobe that does that, since it doesn't seem to adjust the hours of business, just the hours employees work.
8  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Would you be willing to update monique's hacked bookcase? on: August 18, 2009, 12:08:27 pm
I know that her computer has been updated, but would you be willing to update another of her mods? The Hacked Bookcase mod, that allows sims to study all skills from any non-custom bookcase. It does not work with Freetime or Apartment Life, and she's not around to ask for an update.

Thanks =)
9  Simmers' Paradise / Contests & Challenges / Has there ever been a contest like this? Houses on: February 25, 2009, 07:26:05 pm
I don't participate in the various contests here, but I've looked at the threads more than a few times. It seems like people really enjoy them. However, I can't recall there ever being a contest like this:

Suppose instead of a contest about sims, it was a contest about homes. The point would be to design beautiful rooms, kind of like a sims version of all those home design shows.

Let's say that someone designs a house from house plans*, and puts it here for all would-be contestants to download as the basis of the contest. This would be the house that every contestant uses. The house would have a basic layout, but no furniture, no wallpaper, no floors and no plants or decor outside of any kind. All you would get besides a completely undecorated house is photos of the rooms labeled as what they're intended to be - bedroom, kitchen etc.

The first contest would be for everyone who enters to design a specific room (you'd know which room from the labeled photos above), probably a master bedroom. Everyone could submit photos of their designs, and have them be voted upon, like the people-based contests.

The next contest would be another room, maybe a child's room or a nursery - these would be two different assignments - and so on, until the last contest was to design the yard. Each contestant would be requested to work on only one house, so their master bedroom entry would be in the same house as their nursery entry etc. And at the very end, it would be nice if people uploaded their decorated lots.

What do you think? Would something like this work as a series of contests? If you like the idea, feel free to start such a contest because I'm more interested in how it would turn out than coordinating contests.

* house plans sites - if you click on a plan, you can get photos of what the area of the rooms in each house should be. I, and a lot of other folks, use these plans to create homes.

10  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Adopt two kids at once? on: February 16, 2009, 06:24:33 pm
Though I'm about 75% sure this isn't do-able simply because no one has already done it, I guess I'll ask anyway: is it possible to create a mod so families could adopt 2 (or more) kids at once?

In my mind, which is completely unhampered by knowing how creating mods works, I imagine it being something like a cross between the mod that allows one to pick the gender of adoptees and the hack that allows one you pick if your sim gives birth to 1, 2, 3, or 4 babies. The only reason I think this might be possible is because of that screen telling you that there's a new baby on the way appears during both births and adoptions. But like I've said, I know nothing about hacking; my only attempt at creating a hack resulted in non-autonomous computers...that were also invisible! Cheesy

Thanks for thinking about it.
11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Things you've only recently discovered about the game on: November 08, 2008, 08:44:18 pm
I've had the game since the week it came out, but sometimes I'm surprised when something unexpected happens. How about you?

I just discovered today that sims can use the mirror to practice romance - while holding a baby. My self-sim has six boys, and the younger set of twins are still babies. I had her check on Henry and then practice romance at the mirror because a want for gaining a charisma skill point appeared. When I checked to see what she was doing, she was holding Henry and talking to the mirror =)

What cool things have you recently discovered?
12  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Put your clothes back on! mod request on: October 11, 2008, 02:47:09 pm
Squinge, thanks again for the move away from the dresser mod, it works wonderfully. If you have time, I have another request.

Is it possible to make sims get dressed in their everyday outfits after whoohoo'ing/trying for baby? They love to wander around in their underwear until you force them to get dressed, and I can't imagine what their neighbors think! I know there's a mod that makes them get dressed after sleeping, but it doesn't work on non-sleeping getting out of bed...activities.

my specs:
I have all eps except BV and AL installed (I also don't have teen stuff, h&m stuff, or kitchen & bathroom stuff, if that matters), and the FT version of inteen & the autonomous lovebed, inteen version, which allows you to say what sims should be wearing when they get INTO bed, so I'm not sure if it complicates things. I'm about to install your FT version of Pregnant Sims Wear Any Outfit too.
13  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Move away from dresser? on: September 09, 2008, 04:50:02 pm
Picture this:
Your sims' young twins have just aged from toddler to child, and they're both wearing ugly maxis-picked outfits. You send the first twin to pick a new outfit, and all goes well. But when you try to send twin to to get changed, he throws a hissy fit because his twin is still aimlessly standing in front of the dresser blocking his access. Sound familiar?

I know there is/was a mod to get sims to move away from some kitchen appliance (honestly, I forget if it was for the fridges or stoves) so it seems possible to direct a sim to move away from things after completing an action. Can we have a mod that directs them to move away from the dresser once they're dressed?
14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / A question about rug (recoloring) on: February 28, 2008, 05:20:56 pm
Does anyone know if any of the rugs in the game *don't* mirror image a texture to create the missing other half? If so, which? All the ones I've recolored seem to do this, and I'm hoping that one of the rugs will just take an image as is since there are so many designs that do not benefit from being mirrored and duplicated.
15  Retired Creators / Guest Recolors / Infant Lamb Outfit on: January 27, 2008, 09:40:52 pm
Here's a recolor of Bloom's infant mesh. It features fluffy little lambs on a sky blue background. I've been using it for both boys and girls since it seems pretty unisex to me. Hope you like it Smiley

Please DO NOT upload to this recolor to the exchange. While I usually have no issues with uploading my stuff in your lots, it's not fair to set folks up to unknowingly download a mesh that'll effect their entire game.

If you like the nursery in the picture, you can find it here: http://www.modthesims2.com/member/showthread.php?t=86851
