46  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Apartment Life Chat / Apartment Life- EP 8? on: April 26, 2008, 07:40:26 pm

Definitely not fake. Got a little leaflet thingy in my Kitchen and Bathroom SP ^.^

I think if they pull it off it'll be awesome. There have only a few been a few things I've wanted to see in the game and that's one of them - along with the option to go to work with your Sims and to be able to drive to another persons house as you would a Community lot Smiley

But I do agree with the bits about Superstar and Makin' Magic. People have been after those for ages so why not bring those out? Even if they're trying to stick to real life as best as possible Superstar wouldn't be too far stretched as people do get famous. Magic might be a little far but still if that's what's going to get them money why aren't they cashing in on it?

I don't so much want SS or MM as far as being a celebrity or a magician. I was more wanting the cool objects. But as far a SS I would like to see a home studio where one could make indepedent films/music and have it featured on that Sim's TV/Stereo (like novels do in Free Time) as well as make money off of the sales.

Either way I am looking forward to apartment life.

Does anyone know what specs your computer will have to have to run this game?  Any idea? Thanks in advance. Smiley

Right now I don't think that anyone knows anything!
48  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What families would you like to see in TS3? on: April 26, 2008, 05:55:25 pm
For my "reprimand" of dynasty, I apologize. This just came on the heels of negativity I've been seeing on these boards and I just snapped. dynasty, again, I apologize! And Tenshii~Akari thank you show gently showing me the error in my thinking!

none, as some previous posters already said! firstthing I do is delete maxis families off the lots! I just prefer my own families!

If you're not going to participate in this discussion in the spirit in which this discussion is intended then don't bother posting!

Any more thoughts? I know some of you want to see someone make a return in TS3! Yes some of you are sayiing, "I'm not going get TS3 anyway" or something similar but, as I said earlier, for the sake of argument let say you will get it. What families would you like to see? If your answer is "none" or anything similar then please don't rain on everyone else's parade.

For awhile, EAxis had plans for TS3 to be semi-online, meaning you could actually have your sims visit my neighborhood. I think this idea was scrapped, but I do not know for sure.

Considering the failure that The Sims Online was, I don't think the EAxis would wont to venture through that territory again. Speaking of EAxis I have decided to make a comparaison of EA/Maxis with Chrysler's buy out of The American Motors Corporation (AMC). Chrysler bought out AMC so that they could get thier hands on the Jeep brand (which was AMC's only money maker). However since that time the Jeep brand hasn't lived up to previous models' quality or consumer friendliness (is that even a word?). It looks like EA is doing the same thing with the Sim brand (Sim City & The Sims). I actually like Sim City Societies, by the way. I just had to get me head around not comparing it to the previous ones. TS3, however, concerns me but I have already gone through that ad nauseam. I just wanted to shre me comparison with others. I apologize to all non-Americans for my use of an American reference. I am not that well versed in other countries' cultures (except for the two years I spent in Japan)

Kevida, TS2 was made entirely without Will Wright too. Wright is credited for, but did not design much -- if any -- of The Sims 2. What content that may be by Wright most probably consists of recycled code stripped from The Sims and SimsVille. He was only used in advertising/promotional material and a member of the team in name only; during most of the life-arc of The Sims 2, he was/has been working on the first stages of Spore and doing the kudos-tour where he generally lived like a rock star and got a pile of honorary degrees and awards purely based on the success of The Sims and his huge cash roll.

Now that I did not know! Thanks for the clarification! Hmm no wonder TS2 started off good but, as Will became less involved, it become more of a money making scheme for EA in the end. I just have a bad feeling that TS3 will tank and that Spore will be to amibtious of a project.
53  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / My fear for TS3 on: April 17, 2008, 07:33:00 pm
I am afraid that since the originator of The Sims (Will Wright) will not be working on TS3 that it will tank without him. I am hoping that I am wrong! Yes I know that I've been going "back and forth" about whether or not I'll get TS3. If you really want my answer then here it is. I will definitely think about maybe getting it!:)

I need to be able to talk to people/a person here in Insim, as in instant messaging, so that I'll be less confused. I need to talk to someone knowledgeable, someone that can prove a point about this issue... Err... And... Did I spell this right (?): supercalifragilisticexpialidocious  <---? I've been making this as an acronym and put in a lot of words together to form the acronym...

Huh?Huh?Huh??
are you saying the your issue is wheter "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" is spelled right? I don't even think it's a word. Of course I could always be wrong.

Glad I could give you a laugh, beosboxboy. By the way, is your avatar a picture of you? If not then it look an awful like actor Charles Nelson Reily! I've been meaning to ask you that for the longest time!

Anyone familiar with Wizards of the Coast (aka WotC) knows that even if something that's been said is "official", the next thing that happens is the opposite of the official news. For those of you who don't know who WotC is, they're the makers of the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Role-Playing Game. For the longest time WotC said that there would be no fourth edition of D&D. The very next month after the "official announcement" the WotC website announces "Fourth Edition Coming Soon". What's that got to do with the Sims franchise? It's just clarification that "official announcements" don't mean a thing!
58  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Apartment Life Chat / Apartment Life- EP 8? on: April 14, 2008, 08:45:56 pm
As many have said, there is so much that can still be done in TS2 that Apartment Life should not be the last EP. Here is a question. If they are so close together, why are they called "apart-ments"? Sorry old joke but I'm an old man!
59  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Bumping the thread! on: April 13, 2008, 08:06:48 pm
Okay now that we know some of what is o going on with TS3 I am going to bump thus thread and talk more about what I would like to see. Most of this is an update from my first post on this thread.

-As far as the ability to change or go without shoes for the outfits, I think that is great but I'd like to see something more. How about a sensible relationship between underwear and regular clothes. TS2 has so many strapless dresses/tops but the women still wear bras with straps. Would it make more sense that if a sim wore a dress/top that's strapless and a bra that's not, then the strap would show? Call me crazy but that makes sense that it would happen. Of course I realy would not want to see a sim wearing a dress/top that's strapless and a bra that's not!:puke: I would, however, like to see that if a sim's undies feature some sort of hosiery (pantyhose, stocking, thigh highs, knee highs, for women and socks for men or women) and that if that sim's legs are exposed or the sim goes shoeless, then the hosiery (whatever type is applicable) would be seen. Sorry, it's just little details like that would make the clothing thing more enjoyable for me.

-Different types of degress for going to college/university. if a sim goes two years then he/she gets an Associates Degree; four years get them a Bachelor's Degree; Six years gets them a Master's; and Eight years gets the a Doctorate. With each level of degree the sims automatically get two levels in thier jobs (Associate's starts them a level two, Bachelor's starts them at level four, et cetera). That is, of course, IF "higher education" will be included in TS3

-I am told that there are more ages besides "Toddler", "Child", "Teen", "Young adult", "Adult" and "Elder". Included are "Pre-Teen"" and "Middle Age" stages as well. I hope that is true!

-Banking/Investing. A sim who "puts a little aside for a rainy day" ends up with a bigger pension upon retirement. Sims can also apply for loans but their bills are greater to reflect the expesne of loans.

-Have pets, hobbies (and all that goes with them), running businesses and weather included "from the get-go"!

-I see that growing veggies is already included and I am hoping that fishing is included too. However, I would like to see the growing of other crops and the raising of livestock happen as well. By the way, if you are offended by the raising of livestock for food then you can not include it in your game and have your sim be a vegatarian/vegan. That is, if raising livestock is included. I also hope that growing fruit is included. I would like to see that expanded to include having a vineyard to bottle..."nectar" (to coin a TS1 Makin' Magic phrase). Raising bees for honey would be cool too! Oh why not include herbs and spices! Have all this rasing of animals/plants be a cheaper alternative to buying food (albeit harder work).

- Have hunting trips as well as fishing trips. I don't mean show the killing of the animals but have the animal show up  in the sim's inventory the way fish do in TS2 Seasons. The sim can either prepare it for a meal or "mount it" (again like the fish in TS2 Seasons). Perhaps the type of weapon option can open up for a sim as his/her as the badge increases (once more the way TS2 Seasons does it).

- If sim does one type of workout then that particular body part is toned/pumped. Example, just doing armcurls will give a sim impressive arms but the gut might still be on the big side. If the workout is nothing but cardio the the sim is just slimmed down but not made muscular.

That's all that I can think of right now! Thoughts, opinions, refinments, or addendums?
60  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / The Sims 3 buzz/gossip/rumours on: April 12, 2008, 09:39:43 pm
Hmm sounds interesting! Of course I have said before that maybe we're getting ladders in our tights over nothing! I guess I am one of those rare people that see both sides of an argument so I am holding my judgement until TS3 comes out. I would, however, like to see another EP, after Apartment Life, come out. An April Fools joke from EA mentioned a "Country Life" EP. Yes it was a joke but it would be a good idea! A remake of Superstar and/or Makin' Magic would be good too! Oh well, I am just  a lunatic so what do I know?
