1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Something to get rid of those horrible Body Shop Sims? on: March 01, 2009, 03:14:18 pm
Hi guys. I was wondering if there was something out there to "hide" the premade sims in body shop, a la Jordi's Maxis-hide hacks for the game. Does anyone know if something like this exists? Thanks a lot!

2  Simmers' Paradise / Apartment Life Help / Let us out!!! (Trapped on lots/hack glitch) on: November 28, 2008, 02:08:26 pm
No, and I have nothing showing as conflicting... but with 15000 downloads I'd rather not have to sort through them all to find the conflicting package.

M'kay. So I've got... all the expansions and almost all the stuff packs. And I (usually) work very hard to make sure I don't have conflicting hacks. However, I'm having a problem where I am completely unable to go to any community lot whatsoever, be it in my neighbourhood, in connected downtown lots, uni lots, vacation lots... you get the idea. No travel options available other than to go to work. I do have options to call transportation, call taxi, drive to community lot, walk to community lot, invite, etc., but all menu options fall out of queue before they can be acted upon. Does anyone know of any specific hack/object/other that causes this? Much thanks to any comments. Smiley
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / SecuROM and cd/dvd drives on: October 04, 2008, 02:49:48 pm
Yeah, I've gotten rid of securom since, and no longer have the games on my system, but the drive still doesn't work. Is the only option to reboot the entire system?

I'm not sure whether or not this should be here or not.

At one point I was one of the naive who played their games with the original cds instead of making no-cd cracks, blithely unaware of the fact that I'd allowed SecuROM to attack my precious computer.

Recently I noticed that my dvd rom drive does not read dvds, both store-bought and dvds of home videos. Is it at all possible that SecuROM is the problem for this, or could it be something else?

I'm extremely grateful for any opinions.
6  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / ...Explicative on: August 12, 2008, 01:15:20 pm
So I have every expansion/stuff pack installed through Freetime on my external hard drive.Everything was working perfectly twenty minutes ago while I tested a custom neighborhood I made in SC4. After checking the neighborhood I quit S2 so I could put my custom content back in the game (I moved my Downloads folder so I'd have better load times.) Went to start the game back up. Nothing. Checked my Task Manager just to make sure it wasn't being slow. Nothing. Tried again, watching the Task Manager. It shows it loading but then the game disappears.
I am 99.99% positive it has nothing to do with my Downloads folder, because I was playing yesterday with the almost the same custom content without problems. However, I did download several houses from MTS2 that I hadn't loaded into the game.

Could it be that content in those houses are keeping the game from loading?
If so, how can I remove the content, since (as far as I know) the game has to load for it to show up in the Downloads folder?
If not, what else could be causing this, since all of the custom content has been removed?

Reinstalling is an absolute LAST RESORT. Anyone who knows how much of a pain it is installing the base game PLUS eleven expansion packs should be able to understand why. I don't want to have to do that again, so please help. Sad
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Update fails? on: January 12, 2008, 10:48:04 pm
I got it to work! For anyone who might see this, when installing the sims on an external hardrive, you have to change the target of My Documents to the drive of the external. Otherwise it won't work. I forgot. *hits head*

I won't slap you; you're trying to help. ^^ But yes, I'm reinstalling everything from the beginning. The only difference is that I'm installing to my external hardrive instead of my main hardrive. I've done this before and it's been a nonissue; I don't understand why it chose now to not work. Sad

Hiii... << I'm reinstalling all my games. But University keeps telling me that the update (you know "sims will now check to see if your version is up to date) failed, and then it uninstalls everything that it was supposed to be installing. In a word: wtf? In a phrase, how do I get this to stop, or override it, or fix it?

Help. Sad

Edit: PS- Yes, I checked MTS2, and yes, the disc is clean, and no, I didn't patch, and yes, the game's worked before.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Stupid question? Need some help. on: December 28, 2007, 10:19:04 pm
Hi. I got BV for Christmas and actually had the balls to install it today.  Well, I have beef with it already, as I knew I would.  What in the WORLD is up with you not being able to control the sims you take with you on vacation?  Is there a cheat to override this? I've looked, but haven't had luck with it yet.  Input is appreciated!

12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / External questions/compatibility? on: December 24, 2007, 02:19:14 am
Good morning, and Merry Christmas! ^^ I'm sorry, firstly, if this is in the wrong area.  I wasn't sure where else to put my question.  I got an external hardrive for Christmas and I was curious to know if it's possible to use it to hold the downloads folder.  I mean, I know it's possible to put my downloads on the external, I just don't know how to set the game so that it reads that the downloads are on the other hardrive, instead of the computer hardrive.  Does that make sense?  Instead of C:/Documents and Settings/Downloads, I want it to be E:/The Sims 2/Downloads.  How do I do it?

Thank you!  And Merry Christmas, again! Cheesy
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Load error on: October 16, 2007, 10:09:26 am
Hi, I'm sure it's been complained about before, and I'm going through old threads to try and find it, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

When I load Seasons, I can get through everything up to opening my lots inside a neighbourhood. When I try to play in a lot with people, the game pops up with an error message and tells me it will now terminate. It happens every time on the seventh load bar at the top. I think it has something to do with a incompatible hack, but I can't figure out which one. Also, I can enter community lots just fine. Any suggestions are most welcome. Thank you!
