211  Retired Creators / Custom Body Meshes / Please post Bug Reports and Help Requests Here on: March 11, 2006, 05:57:56 pm
Please post Bug Reports and Help Requests Here

This way people might see a solution without having to ask about
previously solved issues.

DO NOT POST PHOTOS OR HELP REQUESTS OF ADULT-ORIENTED NATURE HERE!

------------------------------------------------------------------------
For general game and Windows help not related to the bodybuilder meshes,
see my thread: General Help for Windows and Games
http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=6400
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please do not request ZIP files, there are free RAR file extractors available;
the reason Marvine & I use RAR files is based of the reality of hosting costs
for bandwidth, although we don't have to pay for this bandwidth, someone
does.  And that 12 KB difference x 1000 downloads adds up.

Make sure you unpack the RAR-files with:

PC-users:
WinRAR ($ PC: http://www.rarlabs.com/)
7zip (free PC: http://www.7-zip.org/)
AlZip (free PC: http://www.altools.net/)
TUGZip (free PC: http://www.tugzip.com/)
Filzip (free PC: http://www.filzip.com/)
IZArc (free PC: http://www.izarc.org/)
UnzipThemAll (free PC: http://www.herve-thouzard.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=6)
ICEOWS  (free PC: http://www.iceows.com/)

Mac-users:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
**If you are using Safari, to download a .RAR file you will have to hold down
**the control button (the one on the end, not the apple button) and then click
**the link and a menu will pop up. Select Download Linked File.
**Another option is to download and use Camino
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stuffit ($ Mac & PC: http://www.stuffit.com/)
**Some Mac Users report corrupt packages from using Stuffit
**check for an upgrade or use UnRarX
UnRarX (free Mac: http://unrarx.sourceforge.net/)

or some similar software, place the extracted files in your Downloads folder
(one of the following):

Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\*your-windows-username*\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

Windows 98, 98 SE, & Millennium Edition
[/B][/U]

C:\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads

other possible locations are:

C:\The Sims 2\Downloads

C:\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\UserData\Downloads

Although NightLife adds the ability for subfolders there seems to be
various problems with custom clothing/genetic meshes and their
recolours being in sub-folders, so I have to recommend you do not
place Marvine and my things in a subfolder.

here is a visual step by step guide for the process that should help make every thing clear to you.

If you see a Maxis default clothing instead of a bodybuilder, then the
game is not recognising the mesh or the mesh is missing.  Please make
sure to install the meshes before asking for help, I make these meshes
and EVEN I forget to install them sometimes.  An archive of the meshes
is here, here and here for you to download missing meshes - most of
the meshes are in the mesh archive, but those with adult-oriented
content ARE NOT.

In some instances, the mesh is being over-ridden by a Maxis built-in mesh.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is a Mesh? see this excellent explanation by Jase439 in this thread
http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=6567
------------------------------------------------------------------------

In layman's terms, a Sim's clothing consists of two parts: the texture (commonly
"skin" or "recolour") and a mesh.  Meshes are always required in some form or
another - some are already in the game as they were made by Maxis, these are
named "default" skins/meshes.  Those made by people not employed by Maxis are
"custom" skins/meshes.

This is not to be confused with a genetic skintone.  The same classification of
"default" and "custom" still applies here as well.

The custom clothing will show up in categories with a * on the corner of the
thumbnail preview.

To use the genetic skintones - in sections 1 of the Create-a-Sim,
create-a-student, or create-a-family (called different names in the various
versions of the game) you will see the skintone colours -- to get to Marvine's
and my skintones you need to click the * you will find there by the darkest
skintone colour visible without the *.

The genetic skintones by Marvine & myself usually require meshes; these are
generally included in my RARs with the skintones.

So if you want to use the clothing you see in my posts, you need to have the
Skin part and the Mesh part; the colour of the flesh is not important.  These
clothes will work on any colour of flesh default or custom.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keep in mind some language versions do not allow a true nude state to occur,
see the following note.

SPECIAL NOTICE TO NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGE VERSION USERS:
Some localised language versions of The Sims 2 do not use the true
nude state at any point in the game because of the national laws of
various states and nations (e.g., Thailand); these skins will not work
correctly on all versions of the game.  They have been tested and
shown to work on US English, UK English, and French language versions
of the game.  If you cannot get them to work on your native language
version of The Sims 2, there is NOTHING I can do to make them work
for you.

212  Retired Creators / Teen Titans - Bodybuilder Teens / UPDATE 22-Mar-2006: TEEN/ELDER Suits for the Bodybuilder on: January 28, 2006, 03:15:24 pm
This mesh was made by Marvine and me, and the textures by me

The file contains the mesh and the four recolors.

As usual, you can recolor as you want as long as you link to the mesh here and give credit to its creators; the MESHES MUST NOT BE REDISTRIBUTED.

UPDATE 22-Mar-2006: corrected version of the suit mesh to the improved neck

UPDATE 26-Mar-2006: corrected and issue with the clothing textures showing black on the neck - the new files WILL NOT over-write existing files, you will have to delete them yourself from CAS or BodyShop CAS.
213  Retired Creators / Not-so-Average Joes / Requested by mimst: Axel Rose's Jacket on: January 24, 2006, 10:59:35 am
As per request through the unbounded beneficence of Wirelessguy (All praise his name!) for Mimst

Texture, Work, and Files by Wirelessguy

The bodybuilder version uses the short jacket mesh here: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=2181

The Maxis version requires no special mesh.

Done as a request - AFAIK no EPs required, if you get an error use Sims2Pack Clean Installer to install

UPDATE 23 Jan 2006:  Repacked WITHOUT S2PCI - tested - no empty packages this time, please re-download.

Skintone by Louis(SimCribbling) http://louis.new21.net/ - Not Included
Eyebrows by Kavar
Eyes by Helaene helaene.com
Eye Shadow by Hairfish(Mermaid Cove) www.mercosims.com
Blush by Sarhra simsbysarhra.com
Beard by Huh?

The Skintone by Louis is not included in this file, you will need to get it from SimCribbling.

It appears that there is no need for the addition of AllenABQ's face templates to add this Sim, however I do strongly encourage their use.  (quo vide AllenABQ's Replacement Face Templates for CAS/BodyShop (MTS2))

This is my friend Phil (AP) simmified. I will avoid going off into a panegyric monologue on the many fine qualities of Phil and allow him some privacy.

With the help of Kavar I present thse romantic additions to your Sims' accessories. The gold, white, and silver version were textured by Kavar!

Works for Adult & Teen males and females.

Especial thanks to Kavar (All praise his name... and send him big cash while you're at it - lol), besides being a very talented creator, I am happy to call him friend!  I can't thank him enough for taking the time and putting forth the effort to help me get this mesh beat into shape.

Be advised, this item has a fairly high polycount, so it may not be for every system.

Please read: Change of policy - please give credit to Kavar & Beosboxboy (in that order)

Now on with the Simming!

217  Retired Creators / Fantasy : Fantastique - Mythologie / Bodybuilder Sexy Devil or AntiCupid on: January 15, 2006, 04:22:18 am
This mesh was made easier by following the work of a great and very talented Sims 1 mesher, Corry of Corry's Factory.  Without Corry's work to inspire and guide me this mesh would have been 10k polys! lol

Update 15 Jan 2006: added more variations on this theme.

The rose crown in the photos is available here: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=3791

218  Retired Creators / Fantasy : Fantastique - Mythologie / Bodybuilder Fullbody with Dragon-fly Wings on: January 13, 2006, 01:05:35 pm
As with all Marvine & my work, please do not re-post this mesh.

It isn't exactly a fly as was requested, but is winged LOL

The arms cross into the wings in some animations, later versions of the tools may allow this to be corrected.

Please read: Change of policy

219  Retired Creators / Sleepwear : Vêtements de nuit / Bodybuilder Shirtless Pyjamas with Nipples on: January 12, 2006, 11:26:22 am

There's no bulge on this mesh

As with all Marvine & my work, please do not redistribute the mesh.
Please feel free to re-colour this item, but link back to this thread for the
mesh. Do not re-post, host, or otherwise re-distribute this mesh without
written permission.

222  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Residential / Trio of Classic American Duplexes on: December 02, 2005, 08:24:40 am
University & Nightlife required

§178928 - Three Duplexes on a single lot, suitable for College rentals...

Based on three of the many duplexes in this college town I call home, all built between 1890 and 1920.

Starting at the Street intersection on my lot placement moving right:

A three storey wood frame with Georgian neo-classical appointments. The street level storey is one residence, the first and second storeys above the street are the other.

A two storey brick with classic Americana appointments, a typical side-by-side affair.

A two storey in red sandstone, with a fore-and-aft arrangement.

These buildings take up the whole lot, so there is no room a garage unless one of the structures is razed.

Only the barest amount of furnishings, so have at it kiddos.

Non-Maxis recolours by myself and unlabled.
