Ok, found out it was something in my CC Object Meshes sub-folder that was making the apt. icons go bye-bye. What exact file or files in there was causing the problem I dunno, cause there was 143 files in there. My advice to anyone having the same problem as I had is to snag Delphy's Download Organizer, then scan & separate the files labeled "Mesh", then go from there.

I appreciate the advice,Trepie, but I'll keep that in mind for future problems, as I already took the time to sort,lol.

Anyways, Progress Report: Loaded game with CEP, vehicles, and object recolors, icons are good, so cars and recolors passed.

Kathy, or whoever is mod of this sub-forum, should I just append earlier posts of mine with progress reports for others who might run into the same problem, or just quick reply here?

Just started delving into my downloads using Delphy's organizer, separating them more precisely, and trying each group by itself in the game. At least maybe I can find the group of downloads that is the starting point of the icons going PFFT;it's after that,sifting thru each download in the suspect group thats gonna be a pain in the ass. Can we say load up Sims 2 umpteen times?

Ok, just loaded up AL on my windows account, with only the CEP from May in the game, and the icons are there, so that rules out the CEP;one down, ummm, 12000 to go,lol.

Ok, I have removed all my hacks, including the insimenator, and I still have no Apt. building icons hovering in the air in Neighborhood View. All I have now in my Downloads folder is CC stuff/Eaxis Stuff for clothes,etc. I ran the game on another Windows account, no downloads in place, and I get the icons where they should be. Anyone else having this problem, and perhaps figured out what is making the icons go PFFFT?

From Sim Wardrobe comes this tidbit from the Prima Games forums, that the FT EP may not be the last. Paladin even swiped a ss of the comment, which I saved an uploaded here. Hmmm, well, we do have the K/B SP coming out in what, April? And EA does have several more months to bleed Sims 2 before Sims 3 arrives.

WHAHAH-WHAHAHH-WHAAAAA (Peanuts adult speak). Now we just need to put in an mp3 of the peanuts theme into the game.

Guess something in my game had that nullified till FT. But what about just seeing another sim? I have one who goes AHHH everytime he sees his daughter, and she's a teen.

Seems like they do the "ahh!" reaction to everything: age transition, seeing another sim. Am I the only one seeing this bug?

Here ya go, to compliment my Simtec Temple residential lot I uploaded here awhile back, now your sims can go dine in a temple. With hidden flame/flash pots, lights, and a hidden flat roof, your sims can dine with the feeling that they're inside an ancient forboding temple. I've included SS with the download so you can view the pics better.BTW, I have Base thru Teen Style Stuff installed,so, if you have as far as Bon Voyage installed, you're good to go.

Ok, have been playing Sims 2 on my two XP machines for awhile, with one offering better gameplay as it has an AMD Athlon 64 3200+.Now, my latest desktop, an EMachine T3612 with Vista Home Premium, with a Celeron D 3.46 GHz, and onboard shared memory graphics courtesy of an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950,Up to 224MB Shared Video Memory.Now, should I wait till I get a PCIE16 video card before I go trying to install and play Sims 2, as yes, my 2 XP machines both have Radeon 9200 AGP cards in them, with 128 MB, and my EMachine only takes PCI Express 16 cards, or would the onboard graphics suffice for now?Remember, the Vista video requirements are "heavier" than Sims 2, so that kinda clues me in that it would suffice for now. Anyone have any suggestions..........beos.........kathy........?

I hear ya Jazz........right before BV came out, I made a list o'er at the main site's bbs about off the wall sim deaths we'd never see,some of them just happening in the real world recently:

BV themed-sim gets drunk, falls overboard on a cruise and drowns
BV themed-sim gets kidnapped, wakes up to find body parts missing
BV themed-sim gets deadly tropical "squirts" and dies on toilet
BV themed-Chance card/ Bigfoot kidnaps a sim;pregnant or dead
BV themed-sim sets self on fire twirling the fire baton
BV themed-sims falls off plank on pirate ship & drowns

Other themed-sim drives over another, sim gets killed when a servo gets too "frisky", sim dies when on pc during storm and lightning hits-blowing up pc,werewolf sim relieves themself on holiday pack reindeer and gets zapped, sim trips on child's toy at top of staircase and well......snap,servo vampire electrocutes a sim while trying to bite said sim,Mrs Crumblebottom swings her purse just a tad too hard and breaks your sims neck.....shall I go on?
