1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What Kind of Computer you run sims2 on? on: November 15, 2007, 12:34:11 am
Hi. I build computers for a living, both office and gaming types. I have two computers that run Sims 2, my son's and mine.

My son's is essentially my old computer in a new case:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0Ghz
1Gb ram
ATI 9800 XT w/128mb
WD Raptor 74Gb 10,00rpm SATA drive
Maxtor 80Gb SATA drive
Kingwin Aluminium Case (Looks Mac G5-ish)

Mine:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (overclocked from 2.4 to 2.8Ghz)
4Gb Ram
EVGA Nvidia 8800 GT
WD Raptor 150Gb 10,00rpm SATA drive
WD Raptor 74Gb 10,00rpm SATA drive
WD Caviar 500Gb SATA Drive
Lian Li PC6895 custom aluminum case

My son's system works fine on his 19" LCD screen (1280x1024) as long as we set the view distances to something less than max, and we don't put too many trees or other detailed objects around.

I turn everything all the way up on a 24" LCD @ 1920x1200 resolution. I have had no lag or stuttering, but it also runs Bioshock flawlessly.

Unfortunately I don't get to play too often, and then have to divide my time between FPS games and Sims 2.

Thanks, Bloom!

That's really nice! Any chance of a Powergirl Version?

Thanks!

One of these days I'm going to unleash the heroine outfits I've been working on for the classic Pinup and Powergirl. It's just a matter of time.

Tongue

Here's a couple things I'm tossing around:
Finishing up the Alpha Tshirt & Skirt for the sizes
HEELS!  Either Marvine's or Bsett's, not sure yet, probably in a miniskirt/dress and nude version again
ComicBook/SuperAthlete Bodyshape (BadLuckBlackie's idea, think She-Hulk, LadyDeath, Vampirella and fitness models)
Voluptuous/Classical Bodyshape - that 50's pinup/Playmate look, all natural and all woman, with a custom Fat morph something along the lines of classic Renaissance paintings figures
French Maid outfit for Persephone

That's just off the top of my head... thoughts?

Yes, yes and YES!!! All of the above! It's so very apparent that you have excellent taste! I am stoked at the ideas you bring forth: ComicBook/SuperAthlete Bodyshape, Voluptuous/Classical, and the Fat morph like the Renaissance women (Like Greek Statue Girls?) Heck, yeah!!

Please oh please oh please !!!!

Mixing it up with Marvine would be great! I'm still dreaming of a She Hulk with 34dd's and 38 or 40" hips, but with the muscles and shoulders of Marvine's Female Body builder (with maybe bigger arms of the Male Slim BB.

Do whatever give you the most fun. We will love it!!

Have you seen this post?

http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=18302

Comes closer to want you want, just have patient Smiley she will come eventually
Like Stella said, the Female bb is perfect for it, adding bigger breast to that mesh aint the problem, but you probably want it to be showerproof too?

I saw the post before it had pictures. That is a good shape, not quite what I'm looking for, but on the right track. I will be using for other characters. Thanks!

Yes, I'm thinking Marvine's BB is the way to go for She Hulk. But I'm no mesher (yet anyways). I'm thinking of Marvine's BB with slightly larger arm muscles upper torso, slightly larger leg muscles (thighs primarily), hips  like Warlokk's 38 or 40 inch bottoms, and either 34d or 34dd breasts. Ideally there's be one natural (high res)top for nude/swimsuit/lingerie and one enhanced top for a dress.

I know this is beyond the games' abilities, but I wish I could alter her height on a permanent basis. She Hulk really needs to be 6'5. Of course, the Hulk needs to be 7', 1000lbs. I don't think the Sims skeleton would like that very much. Wink

Thanks, I'd already found those and like them quite a bit. But what I'm thinking of is the half to three-quarters unzipped look, showing a little (ok - a LOT!) of cleavage. Like that in the pictures. this would definitely require a mesh, since it involves altering the breast shape to be flattened a bit by the ultra-tight catsuit.

Amazing how many people do not know how to play with others.

Of course there's always one. Because that kind of nonsence is just annoying and people get sick of seeing it - usualy keeping their mouth shut up until the point they come across the, I don't know, 300th set of breast implants that look tacky, cheap and painful?

You may be sick of it. We aren't. That's why we come here. That's like going to a bar, and saying you're sick of seeing beer in bars. WTF is up with that logic? (BTW, you lose credibility points when you attempt an insult with spelling errors. There's even a spell check within the box you typed your comments).

Playboy isn't what I'd call a good source for the natural look. Or something that won't give a woman perminent health issues.

What you'd call a good source for the natural look is irrelevant, as Warlokk wasn't doing this for you, but for people who would LIKE it. If you don't like it,  it's not for you. Isn't that simple???

If you don't like comments along the lines of "That looks terrible"... don't make it possible to say anything.

What on earth does that mean? Turn the forum off? Not create things? Not show pictures? That would have to be the most inane statement I've read on any forum ever. If you must say stupid things, please be coherent so we may mock you most effectively.

If it looks terrible... it looks terrible.

Forest Gump? Is that you? No? Oh, ok.
What you fail to realize is that A) This is your OPINION. B) Just because you have issues with large sized breasts, doesn't make them wrong. Do you find all the real D's and DD's in the world equally offensive? Seek psychiatric help, quickly.

Quote from: Erynn
How's this for constructive? Why don't you add an elder set to this, for when they've all aged a little and ended up with perminent lower back pain....

This is where you inform us that you are not a flamer, but are simply jealous of computer animated images. No doubt you exude equally snappy comments whenever  a more endowed woman is in view. Quite sad really.

For some of us, Warlokk is like the DaVinci of meshing, creating works of art worthy of a lofty price tag, which he gives to us free of charge. The D and DD meshes that Warlokk's created might not be typical, but rather his (and my) ideal of each type. He didn't just approximate, he nailed it (pun intended). Yes, the Enhanced meshes look like fakes. (That's what Enhanced means! Doh!) The Naturals have the right shape. Trust me I'm an expert. I've conducted numerous field tests, with "hands on" analysis on a variety of subjects. It was exhausting research. Wink

Now let's keep in mind that:
1. This is a GAME, and should not be taken so seriously. Obviously those that customize are serious about their work, but it's in the name of good clean (and dirty) fun. They owe you nothing. Consider yourself paid-in-full.
2. In this game, we find virtual representations of humans. Note that the game comes with a VERY limited number of body shapes. Warlokk gives us the ability to create larger than life sims, they are PERFECT for what I want. For me, nothing is better than his 34ddn-40 with the "all sims walk sexy" hack. Jessica Rabbit can learn sexy from these girls!!!

Warlokk spends an inordinate amount of time (most likely forsaking sleep) to get these out to the community, with little compensation. When you criticize someone who serves others for the enjoyment of it, all you really do is show what a small person you really are (figuratively, and very likely in the literal sense as well).

Hopefully, after counseling, you can begin to enjoy looking at meshes again.

Once more- Thank you, Warlokk. We, The BodyShape Club, can't say it enough. Thank you!!!

I'm not sure who would be the best person to ask about this, so I'll just throw it out there and see if anybody has any thoughts. I'd like to see a mix of Xeno's Superheroine and Warlokk's 34ddn/e bodyshapes. Or maybe the Female BB and 34ddn/e

Specifically, this would be for my version of the Savage She Hulk. I've got her on the 34dd40 body right now (I chose the 40 bottom to impart more curve and a stonger look), looks almost perfect except the the arms and shoulders aren't quite "strong" enough in appearance. I guess I'll post a few She Hulk pics and let you mesh experts give input on to what needs to be changed/enhanced/copied.

Warlokk, I found this b/w drawing that inspired this thought: would it be possible to do a mesh for your bodyshapes that has a zippered front, exposing the cleavage? Maybe altering the shape a bit (flattening them and spreading them out a bit?)- since the outfit would impossibly tight. I have attempted to just recolor an existing outfit, but it looks more painted on than worn. It needs the 3D look that only a good mesh can provide.

Ideally, this would be in several forms: long dress, skirt w/heels, and swimsuit, and swimsuit w/heels. And if you or someone else makes this, could it be in  Powergirl and Classic Pinup meshes? I am working on a neighborhood of heroes and heroines, and a mesh like this would be invaluable:

I can only imagine how busy you must be Warlokk, seeing as to how many meshes you need to do a set. But let me tell you that your hard work is very much appreciated.

Hi.

I've been a silent but deadly downloader here for a while. Warlokk, you are the bomb. Your 34dd 40 shape is the stuff of dreams, and now with the long dress mesh and the heels mesh, I am stoked! Maxis needs to hire you and pay you $1,000,000 per day for the quality and excellence of work you provide. Your bodyshape series and Xenos's Heroine body shape have extended my fun out immeasurably. I would also like to thank Marvine & Beosboxboy, they round out my quadtaverite of Master Bodyshapers.

I would also like to ask Warlokk if you know if anyone has made clothing meshes for you body shapes (like jackets, frilly skirts, harem pants etc). I am making a group of superheroines, and am looking for a little variation. If anyone can assist, it would make my game!

Keep up the good work!
14  Retired Creators / BodyShape Requests / Same thing on: August 16, 2006, 11:14:31 am
I have the same issue, and was just a few days ago thinking the same thing, but for me that it's not JUST Bodyshop that takes forever. The game itself takes a good 5 minutes before it starts "re-reticulating" anything.

And related to that thought - I was also thinking of how great it would be if we could have different body types sorted into groups in-game. When I want to find a specific "heroine" outfit, I have to look through a bazillion outfits that are not sorted out by any means. Same thing with Warlocks dizzying array of body choices. If I want to create a Sim with a default body, I have to go over 100 pages back to find what I'm looking for.

Maybe someone of greater skill than I could modify the menu subsets to choose what bodytype you want and then you would be looking at a folder that had JUST clothing for that body type.

If only Maxis allowed for expansion in the fat/fit section. It seems that would have eliminated part of the problem.
