1  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Re: I'm getting a new computer... on: March 27, 2009, 11:57:25 am
The only thing I did when I made the switch was save my downloads file to an external hard drive. It may be possible to somehow extract your families and save them in another file to put on the external hard drive.

Here's a link about backing up your game, getting ready to move things to a new computer, ect.

Here's some info about that. Are you running Tiger or Leopard? If you have Tiger, you'll want to look into the fixes listed on that page. If you have Leopard, things should work just fine.

You can safely download things both from this site and MTS2. It's just a matter of what EP's and SP's you have. If you're worried about the files not working, you can always figure out a system to organize your downloads to help you figure out if a file you downloaded is working or not.

Hope that helps a bit! Smiley

As for your other problem, I have no idea how or why that would happen! That's weird for sure.
4  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Re: Just updated to OSX.5.6 Where do I put my main on: March 27, 2009, 11:46:11 am
I installed TS2 in my applications folder after learning that it will not work to install it directly on the HD.
To add your EP's and SP's, just perform the installation as it tells you and install them on "Macintosh HD" when it asks you where you want to install them. Usually it will be the only area to install them anyway.

Does that help at all? I'm no genius, but hopefully that helped you out a bit! Cheesy
5  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Problem With User StartUp Cheat on: November 16, 2008, 03:26:31 pm
Well, it was already in there with the correct file extension & I still can't get my cheats to work. When I type in my alias the cheatbox expands saying something about no such cheat and an error.

8  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Problem With User StartUp Cheat on: November 14, 2008, 01:58:07 pm
I've searched and searched for help topics regarding the user-startup cheat, both here and @ MTS2, regarding how to make it/where to put it/what to write in it/ect. but have had no luck...

I had to re-install my game, but forgot to save my user-startup cheat, so I made a new one...and now it won't work. Everything is typed correctly, but I don't know if it's in the correct place. :sad1:

Could there be an issue with the application I'm using to write the cheat: TextEdit? What app do you guys use?

I guess I'm looking for people who have a Mac and a user-startup file to help me out and post what their file looks like and where they placed it.

Thanks so much in advance for anyone who can shed some light on the subject! :love2:

I downloaded this application a while ago, but don't know how to use it. Could someone explain? I'm only using it to install Sims and Lots that cannot be installed with the Maxis Package Installer. I also have WooHoo, but whenever I click on "Install" nothing happens.

I can't seem to find anyone to contact about these things that are still alive and around. Can any of you? Please? Cheesy
