61  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Penguin? on: August 09, 2007, 02:19:00 am
The penguin pees? It never did that to me before, even when petting or shooing. It never knocked over a trashcan either. For me it just wobbles around, talks to a snowman or incomplete snowman, then wobbles off. It's never done anything annoying or antisocial. It's so cute too... I tried to put in my inventory so I could place it on a lot and sell it, but it won't let you place it in your inventory...
62  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What was your 1st EVER sim called? on: August 09, 2007, 01:44:18 am
In Sims 1, I always made Betty have two babies: a girl called Bobbyna, and a boy called Bettyna.

In Sims 2, Angela and Dustin have two babies: a girl named Jess, and a boy named Conner. They've become regulars for every reinstalled incarnation.

I'm thinking of adding Bobbyna and Bettyna using SimPE (making them Brandie's siblings).
63  A Safe Haven / General Discussion / If You're Not Playing Sims 2 What Other Game Do You Play. on: August 09, 2007, 01:16:10 am
Currently, I'd play Warcraft 3 or Baldur's Gate 2. I'm usually doing something else at the same time. I've tried playing older games like Age of Empires (1 or 2), but they lack the newer innovations in controllability, and I end up not being able to continue playing them anymore. I think that's why I don't play Starcraft anymore.

If I'm watching tv, I play zelda and pokemon games on my little brother's color gameboy while watching tv.

So basically, if I'm not playing the Sims 2, I'm playing either my older brothers' games or my younger brothers' games.
64  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: August 09, 2007, 12:45:05 am
Yeah, things like different heights and actual fat sims, and being able to default as a fit sim. Being able to establish an elder and adult as a married couple (when creating a family) and well as their children. Not having to drop out of college cause you got married. Fix annoying stuff like holding babies and starving to death, changing to sports channel when the sim doesn't has zero interest in sports, overly and telepathically obsessing over cockroaches, playing water balloons in winter and staying outside when freezing. Sims should have intelligence as a personality trait or genetic trait or any other means of controlling it- I could understand a sim set to low intelligence doing certain things. Have ghost be able to do more than just scare sims. Be able to play as an npc, but the npc still keeping its job/position- like if Daniel marries Kaylynn- she's still a maid (for other households) until you tell her to quit. The grim reaper can be part of a household but still be the reaper. Townies having families- it's just weird that they're just there alone- I usually have to make a family for them. Being able to have a genetic parent and adopted parent that are both still considered parents. Military and home school options. And an actual difference between public and private school beyond uniforms. Even if a fully nice sim is angry with someone, he/she shouldn't be kicking over trashcans and stealing papers. Have fighting be a skill. Go to college from home. Ability to get multiple diplomas (for different majors). Have different levels of diplomas (someone who drops out senior year should still have some work-related benefit). Better created pets.

Some things that would probably be too difficult and/or controversial to implement, but I would love if they had it are being able to follow sim kids to school or other sims to work (I hate hearing about some boss or rival when these people don't exist), have things like murder be possible (I don't like saying something that didn't happen in a story). Being able to go to another sims house (like a community lot), so you're in control of the vistors, not the residents- and the computer having to serve your visiting sims needs for once. Ability to get arrested and have a playable prison. Have an orphanage or group home that's playable- where children taken by social workers are also sent. Hospitals.
65  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Why r Sims so stupid ? on: August 08, 2007, 11:03:35 pm
Quote from: Chaavik;813554
This thread is still hilarious! Yeah, I wouldn't dare leave my sims alone for a minute because I know they will attempt to burn the house down! Cheesy

My biggest peeve right now..? My sims harassing the poor pets every minute to give them hugs or belly rubs... Had a sim the other night hugging the cat, putting it down and then turning right around to pick up the cat and give it another hug! Again, again and again...

Why do nannies have to choose the most expensive meal, lobster thermidor to be exact, to prepare and then stop to go do something else, leaving it to rot on the counter? Why do they have to stand by the crib and stare into the wall? If I was a toddler being watched by the nanny like that, I would be creeped out!

Yay, a place to vent about stupidity the sims exhibit.

Oh, my God! Yes, yes, the nanny always does that, apparently, none of my sims had enough cooking points to just put the thing in a freaking oven. And why is it that pets who hate a person will still be more than willing to do things like hugging and fetching when they hate that person. That's something so annoying about pets: I mean enemy sims will interact in ways to remain enemies (logically), but they won't stay enemies with pets- I mean who decides to pet or play fetch with a dog that you consider your enemy!? They should be shooing and yelling at it, and the dog should be barking and biting, not be like, err... I hate you... sure, I'll play razzle with you (and not bite the person). They really don't leave pets alone! That is so true. I have pets installed, yet, I end up getting annoyed when a sim family gets a pet, so I never let anyone get pets. They won't even give the pets a chance to eat.

Oh, I just thought of this one. The Sports channel! It irks me off that they keep changing it to the Sports channel... especially, when in their interests, they hate sports. Oh, and my sim decides to change to the weather channel and it keeps telling me it's sunny out but it's going to ran every like two seconds; that was the one time, those sims decide not to change the channel every half a second and I had to make him do it.

My servos stop what they're doing and do chores excessively. I tell them to do something, someone uses the toilet, and they ignore my orders and go clean the toilet. They freaking leave during the middle of woo-hoo to make someone's bed that's across the house. Why do that one guy's servos not work and mine work too hard?

My sims have never frozen to death or burst into flames before. I didn't even know that happened. I have a family of homeless sims who live around a public bathroom. Somehow, even they have survived the elements, though all their children got taken away... apparently, they aren't resourceful enough to use something on a buffet table to feed a baby, they need refrigerators.

Ah, I just thought of something. I've lived with cockroaches before, but sims telepathically know where they are, and run over there just to complain to stomp on them unsuccessfully, complain to me about it (when they're the ones not cleaning up after themselves), and get sick. I have never gotten sick from a cockroach! Stop obsessing over cockroaches you aren't suppose to know are there (They walk of the house through the front door, go all the way around the house, stomp, complain, go back around, go inside, do something for a second, go out the front door again, around the house, stomp, complain, over and over). They sacrifice ninety percent of their time on this, regardless of motives, then complain to me about motives. Granted, I've had moments when my normal activities were briefly disrupted by cockroaches, but I still ate, slept, etc. successfully. They must have occupied less than or equal to one percent of my time, not ninety!

I just thought of something again while reading something in another post. I can't use the myshuno thingie, because it is the ultimate anti-school/anti-work thing. I mean they just stand there in front of it... standing. I X the thing, and it takes them like two hours of standing before finally being free of myshupnosis.

One of the two things I hate most that I can think of right now are throwing water balloons- they do it during winter and excessively. I keep having to hear that some kid is freezing after repeatedly making them stop and go back inside over and over and then I turn my back for a second, and I hear I'm an unfit parent cause he's freezing or burning up again.
Arg. Why can't they go inside when they're hot or cold by themselves? And who takes three or four showers in row because they're hot or cold!?

The other thing I hate (and I discovered this after I decided not to use automatic motive feeding flamingos, and try playing without cheating) is the "hold infant" or whatever that annoying interaction is called. I mean these sims decide to hold the infant and starve themselves to death, I have to manually make them put the freaking baby down and manually direct them to eat, or go to the bathroom, or take a shower, or sleep (because they'll just hold the baby again)! They keep complaining that the kid smells and I have to tell them to change the kid's diaper because they can't figure that out for heaven's sake!
66  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Discoveries on: August 08, 2007, 10:19:29 pm
I'm probably the last person to learn this, but using moveObjects!

The first six are samples of my pre-moveObjects snapshots and the last five are post-moveObjects. I'm not sure y'all can tell the difference, but for me it's hours worth. Needless to say, I'm still experimenting and learning to fully utilize it. The last ones are suppose to be like preview or commercial pics like the ones from the neighborhood stories... you know, like: Are there really mysterious circumstances regarding Christie's accident that Bob Homeless is hiding? And how is the mafia involved? (second to last picture)

Anyway, moveObjects is definitely a new discovery to me!
67  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Sim conversations. on: August 08, 2007, 09:19:27 pm
Hey, your conversations are so hilarious. I like to incorporate the sims' conversations and body language to stories if I can too. Maybe, it's just me, but I like having a bit of randomness once in a while though strangely enough they sometimes talk about something relevant to the story!

This is a brief (very brief- like three bubbles) conversation that gets interrupted. It's also posted on the wedding thread (as it was during a wedding). I didn't get the whole conversation captured, but these are the types of things I remember.

(while watching tv at someones wedding reception.)
Picture 1
Brandi Broke: So let me tell you the first thing about bums (raggedy suitcase)

Picture 2
Angela Broke: So how do you tell if he's a bum (raggedy suitcase)
(Brandi changes the channel and the girl sitting next to them begins to listen in)

Picture 3
Brandi Broke: The way you know is if he picks his nose he's a bum (raggedy suitcase)
(Angela looks straight into the camera like she's shocked and embarrassed to be caught talking about this)

No Photo moment
(Suddenly, a man comes (the husband of the other lady))
Man: Hey, there's a limo outside (limo)
Man (thinking): I'm gonna get some (woo-hoo thought bubble)

Picture 4
(his wife looks up at him and Brandi)
Man: So about the limo... (limo)
Angela Broke (saying to herself): This looks like train wreck (train)

Picture 5
Brandi Broke: Cool! A limo! (limo)
(Brandi runs outside, while man walks casually with a sinister look on his face. His wife doesn't seem to care... another proposed theory is tvsimitis- where the sim is so absorbed into the tv, that they don't know what's going on- known cures are manually "fixing" them, psychic woo-hoo cheating, and fighting)
