46  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Best Mac? on: May 21, 2008, 05:40:46 pm
The GeForce 8600 is MORE than good enough. I just upgraded to a macbook pro, and I have NEVER had such great graphics.

I have the 2.4 speed processor and have nothing to complain about. Want to use those money you save on something really useful? Upgrade to 4GB RAM. That will make your game (and mac) run as smooth as silk. I run heavy programs made for editing photos, grapic, sound and movies, with big files and several programs open at the same time, and I have no lag.

HugeLunatic why haven't you been able to update? Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Well yes, it works with Vista, but Vista is a NIGHTMARE in my experience, XP is a much more stable platform... If you can call anything microsoft makes stable.

DJ Sims have created a new tool to install .sims2package files (sims and lots)

http://www.djssims.com/index.php?category=1&subcat=5

http://forum.jfade.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=456

Taken from the site:

ntroducing Mac UnPac, my first Sims 2 Program written in Java! This is designed specifically for Mac users but can also be used by Windows users. Instructions for that are below. Mac UnPac is simple, but has the following features:

See What You're Installing: View the name, size, and custom content type of each package contained within the Sims2Pack before you install it!
Remove Unwanted Packages: Remove any items from the Sims2Pack file before you install it, thus saving time and preventing every random object in the world from entering your downloads folder

Unless you have 4 GB of ram *does a little dance* then everything goes superquick.

But I have chosen to go into windows "properly" each time Im gonna play anyway. Just because Im weird like that.
52  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / UseShaders cheat makes my pool flash red!!!HELP on: April 24, 2008, 11:53:13 am
Timm123 installing a new EP will not solve this problem, only make it worse. I got that problem on my old PC laptop when I installed Pets. Every new EP takes mroe of the video card, and if you're having problems now, then just wait til you install BV. I guess you will have all walls flashing red, like I did... What you need is a better graphics card.

With the tap of a button...? You need to restart to get into windows as far as I know.
54  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Help! Game won't work on new MacBook on: April 15, 2008, 04:44:20 am
Great, because when I tried to drop it into the applications-folder, it didn't work...

I got the same message as candiwax when I opened BS, but I have tried running the game and it worked... Hmmm. I'll have to uninstall and try again, then.

Wait, so in leopard, the game is to be installed in the applications-folder, not on the macintosh HD?

Ach, good thing I haven't been able to get to my old CC yet (my powerbook is currently into service for harddisk recovery, since it died on me, and I just got a brand new macbook pro).
56  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Flashing... on: April 01, 2008, 05:58:56 am
My fiancè runs a Macbook witheverything up to seasons, no problems. I have a 2 year old Powerbook G4 with 6GB of downloads, everything up to seasons, and I can play on the highest graphic settings. And we don't even have leopard, still good old Tiger.

Then, we have bought more RAM wich is the only thing you need to stop the flashing... Not that anyone listens to me, as usual.
57  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Everything not working on insimenator.net on: March 27, 2008, 01:28:43 pm
Half of my files were black like that. After I installed wohoo, all the icons changed to the wohoo-icon. Both the black ones and the white ones. They work, I don't know why they have different icons, I never saw a pattern in what kind of files they were..

And it IS always worth to try everything you get suggested, and not just write a rude reply like that.

Hi Warlokk, I have a special request for you and I do hope you will consider.

I have a big fascination for corsets, and to me, Dita Von Tease has the perfect bodyshape when she's laced up. I miss a bodyshape that has the laced up look.

Here's tons of links showing what I mean Wink

If you consider this and need better pictures, PM me. The ones found on the net doesn't show fully. I have her book with tons of beautiful pictures showing better the bodyshape.

Buy new RAM, flip out the battery, take out the ram and replace it. Search youtube for videos.

Changing RAM is easy peasy.
