Well, Im just hinking of simply now using them now, but figured I'd ask anyway...

The new buildt-in closets that came with AL simply doesn't work for me, neither in apartment lots or single homes. I have taken out all hacks and cc,  and still the problem persists. Any tips? The game doesn't crash or anything, I just cant use the closets i get the greyed out mouse when I hover over them.
2  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Mac Unpac on: April 29, 2008, 03:02:21 pm
DJ Sims have created a new tool to install .sims2package files (sims and lots)

http://www.djssims.com/index.php?category=1&subcat=5

http://forum.jfade.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=456

Taken from the site:

ntroducing Mac UnPac, my first Sims 2 Program written in Java! This is designed specifically for Mac users but can also be used by Windows users. Instructions for that are below. Mac UnPac is simple, but has the following features:

See What You're Installing: View the name, size, and custom content type of each package contained within the Sims2Pack before you install it!
Remove Unwanted Packages: Remove any items from the Sims2Pack file before you install it, thus saving time and preventing every random object in the world from entering your downloads folder

4  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / The Sims 2 combopatch for Mac (should be stickied?) on: January 01, 2008, 12:09:03 pm
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/games/demos_updates/thesims2combopatch.html

About The Sims 2 Combo Patch
The Sims 2 sports not only a new 3D graphics engine but also the ability to track Sims’ lives from birth to death as they reach for their aspirations and experience a multitude of wants and fears. Not only can they now have children, but they also possess digital DNA that dictates how their offspring will look. Story mode allows you to take screenshots or even shoot video and tell your own tales about your characters.

What’s New in this Version
- This patch will fully update all The Sims 2 expansion packs to their latest version as of December 2007.
5  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Mac and internetbrowsers on: September 16, 2007, 07:58:16 am
I would like to inform everyone about this.

The default browser that comes with Mac is Safari. Safari is a crappy browers, to be honest. It does weird things with .rar and .zip files when you download them.

It is possible to get Internet Explorer for Mac, but it's and old version and it is no longer supported by Macintosh.

Most Mac users downloads Firefox.  Firefox is a very good browser indeed, but has some annoying things, in my opinion at least. But that's just me. Can be downloaded here

But the best internet browser to use on Mac, is Opera. Opera isn't as widely known yet, but I have gotten it recommend in all the stores that sell Macs here. Delicious tabbed browsing, endless posibilites to make it look like you want, and no problems whatsoever. Find out more here

Happy browsing! Smiley
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Change default bodyshop model? on: August 09, 2007, 06:05:10 pm
Is it possible AT ALL to change the default bodyshop model? Has anyone tried to make a mod for this or something? Because Im tired of feeling the urge to puke everything Im in bodyshop over the horrible fuglyness of the male and female model in make projects-mode.
7  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Patches for the mac-games... on: July 29, 2007, 08:23:13 am
Ok, I have been thinking of buying Pets next, and then I know I need to patch it. So far I have NL and POFB with no pathces. I don't know if there exists patches for those, or where to find it, or if it's even neccessary.

So my questions are:
Where to find patches for macgames? I cant seem to find anything on the aspyr-site.
And wich games should/should not be patched? Not only those I have, but all (since I am planning on getting all after a while)

Thanks in advance Smiley
8  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Walls, hairs and acceroises shows up grey. on: July 22, 2007, 05:54:30 pm
Both me and my fiancè are having problems with walls, one type of hair and some accesoires showing us as grey.

Now, the walls are just plain grey, both in the preview and when you put them on a wall (rather nice shade of gray, though). Thing is, some walls in a set works, while others might not. These are set made by many different creators.

The hair in question is raonsims hair nr. 35. All the windows-users I know have no problem with this hair, but one of them mentioned a cousin on a Mac having the same problem with the same mesh. It shows up in CAS and bodyshop like this:

I have tried downloading retextures of this mesh, and they look the same.

As for the accesoire: It's a bracelet, but when you put it on a sim, two huge grey squares appear at her ears.

I have never heard of this before, and find especially the hair to be weird.@

Edited to add: I just found out this applies to terraint paint too... But NOT floors! Please someone say they have a way of fixing this. There are so many murals I need, where half the panels doesn't work.
9  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Custom walls showing up as grey on: July 12, 2007, 08:38:40 pm
Me and my fiancè are having problems with alot of custom walls showing up as just grey. Not all, but alot. They are by different creators. One example is HystericalParadoxm's superwallset. But not ALL the walls in sets re grey either! Some works, and some don't.

We both have the CEP installed.

What can cause this? It's starting to become a huge annoynce, especially since this also applies to a lot of murals that I need for contests.
10  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Again: I need some help with bodyshop on: July 09, 2007, 03:06:59 pm
I have always wondered how everyone managed to make such high-detailed clothes, and mine never were that good...

After talking with Corinne on MSN today, I think I found out why. I was bitching on an alhpa being so small, like 150 pixels or something, and she said that was weird, since most were like 1024 usually... And that suprised me. Bigtime. Because my alphas/textures that I extract from bodyshop, is NEVER bigger than 300 pixels, and that's the absolute maximum.

Is it my bodyshop that compresses the file when I extract them? Is there some way to fix it?

I have the basegame and NL, and I am on a Mac. Reason Im not posting it in the mac-forum is because i believe more people will see it here, and that makes my chances for getting some answers bigger.
11  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / Cherry galore: A pin-up outfit on: July 08, 2007, 08:10:36 pm
This was made for a contest on Insim. It will need Marvine's alpha dress and heels-mesh.

Anyway, a true pin-upish outfit with cherries, high waist, a simple white top, sheer stockings and a cute little bolero. This is not perfect, and I am planning on working further on it to make it more realistic, but I decided to upload it anyways. Please let me know what you think, and how I can improve it.

Bag is my own creation and is NOt included. Will by uploaded if you want too. The hairbow with the bow is a recolor I made of a peggy-mesh. The hair is by scoobysnacks at insim, my own recolor.

I have chosen to host the download on my personal website. This is my way of helping making the bandwith-issues easier for Eric and Kathy. Sorry I cannot help anymore.
12  Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Huge bodyshop issue: Oh, the blur! on: July 04, 2007, 05:48:50 pm
I have some big problems with my bodyshop. Random clothes and hair are all fuzzy. At first I just noticed it on the things I have made myself, and since I had that problem on my old PC, I used fixed the things that needed to be done to fix it (those numeric values that needs to be changed). But then I noticed the same thing on things other people have made. The reason I didn't notice that earlier, is because I mainly use bodyshop to make things, never to make sims. But now I see it on mainly hairs, but also some clothes. The thing is, these items looks great in-game!

Also, when I am making things, the preview becomes more and more fuzzy each time I refresh. If I restart bodyshop it looks normal again, and then after some time it gets fuzzy again.

Also, I wondered if there is a way to pump up the resolution in bodyshop. No matter what my gameplay res is, my bodyshop res is always bad.
13  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Raonsims #35: Big problems with this mesh, anyone else? on: June 29, 2007, 10:11:58 am
Both me and my fiancè noticed some big problems with hair nr. 35 from Raonsims when we downloaded it the other day. It looks like a grey helmet or something. It happened in both our games, he has the basegame and I have NL. Has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking of letting Raonjena know if it has happened to more people.

At first we thought we hadn't gotten recolors and just the mesh, so we downloaded recolors again. Still didn't work. Deleted mesh and textures, and tried again. Still the same thing. I then downloaded a retexture of the mesh I found on MTS2, to see if that worked. It didn't. They show up as the same helmet-like thingies.

Does anyone know what we should do? I love that mesh, and I don't want to give up!

14  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Bodyshop messed up one of my projects... again! on: June 28, 2007, 06:15:55 pm
Ok, first it was this: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=48396

This has happened a couple of times with clothes. (if anyone has input on that, please help)

Then yeasterday, I was working on a hair-retexture. I closed bodyshop before I was completely done, because my poor mac was a bit overworked, and all I had left was to fix the color. When I opened bodyshop again, and click that project, the mannequin showed up bald. When I enter the project, toddlers, children, teens, adults and elders show up with maxis hair. BUT this is one thing that I am wondering if is the problem: I don't have university, but still the y/a face shows up. Should I delete the original YA files that came with the mesh? Because I think it was when I saved over those files the problem occured. The YA shows up with missing skull...

Edit: I just tried to start a new project on the same mesh, and copy over the files, and when I pressed refresh then I got this error message: Custom content could not be imported. Please make sure all the files is in the right format and location.
15  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Women / A simple, yet unique weddinggown on: June 05, 2007, 07:18:15 pm
Based upon a request. I couldn't do an exact copy, but I used the textures and made my own version of it.

The mesh you nead is by Nouk. Go to http://www.noukiesims2.net , Nouk-> Clothes Female -> page 2. The mesh is included with the FRENCH RIBBON-dress, download nr. 4 from the top.

So, picturetime!

Hope you'll like it! It's quite simple, yet unusual.
