I went to install Freetime EP and keep getting a message that windows has to close, blah blah.. It says it can't find the Autorunexe. I have cleaned the disk, tried to install manually, all things stated by EAGames for installation trouble shooting and still can't resolve this.

So I put all my downloads, saved sims etc back in my game folder and went to play Bon Voyage. As the disk was out of my cd/dvd drive I put the disk in and got the same message with the BV game. (Windows has encountered a problem...must close) But BV will run when I use my shortcut. So it obviously can find the autorun exe. Also, I have not removed Securom nor do I play with a no cd crack, I play with my original game disk. I have however, created my shortcut bypassing the launcher  which may/maynot explain why BV won't start by inserting the disk but shouldn't have anything to do with installing Freetime.

 I have even tried to install Freetime from another cd/dvd drive, (an external one) and still get this same message.  So it obviously isn't a faulty cd/dvd drive or a bad game disk. Does anyone know what can be causing this or what I can do? I am stumped.


I really would like to install Freetime. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I recently packaged a lot in the game. I would like to share this lot so I read Aliwags Tutorial on how to package a clean lot. Unfortunately after changing the file name and adding .sim2pack at the end I get this error message and a bunch of empty packages:

Over the past day or so my game has been acting goofy. I enter a lot that I play every day and there are no issues while playing. The problem occurs when saving. If I simply save my game, intending to stay on the lot, it saves and saves with that darned tooting blue screen (blue screen of death) and never stops. I am unable to get to task manager to end task and/or shut down safely. I must hold my computer button in until it shuts down. If I am quitting the game to save, I end up with a black screen (the grim reaper of screens lol) and again cannot access task manager to end process/shut down. When I save game and return to the neighborhood, it will save on occasion (no blue/black screen) but when my neighborhood screen appears it will shake back and forth over and over. I am able to exit the game from there safely. I entered another neighbor hood and didn't seem to have this issue. It seems it is only with this particular one which I always play on.

I have deleted groups cache and cigen and I have removed the few things I have downloaded since this has been happening and even a few days before this has been happening to be sure.
I don't have problems with my computer other than this.

I have a GeForce 7300GT 512 mb graphics card (not overclocked)
I use AVG 7.5 Internet Security (not free) updates daily and deletes cookies/unwanted stuff daily so it doesn't appear to be a virus.


GAMES: Sims2 base, Uni, NL, OFB, GL, and  Pets none of which are new installs.
The only new hack/mod is Squinges Toddler pose but, as I figured,  removing this didn't solve my issue. The other mods/hacks are few, Crammy, Quaxi censor remover ,InSimenator, hula and more of which all, I believe, are correct versions for my game.

I have recently changed from Internet Explorer to Firefox and, not always but many times, when I download a file it ends up with an empty RAR and the opened package file. I have it set to "save file to desk top". Is there something I can do to remedy this? I know I can simply drop the file into the proper folder but I prefer the file to remain intact until I choose to open and extract it. Any suggestions? Thankies in advance. :happy8:

I just installed glamour life and Pets and all went some what smooth. My downloads (furniture, hair, skintones etc) all are present. My problem is that the lots I have either created or downloaded are not showing up in the lot bin and the sims I created in body shop are no longer there (downloaded sims are present though). My neighborhood is fine and the lots and their sims are there, just not showing in body shop or lot bin. I have not put any of my hacks in yet. Did I forget to put in one of my saved game folders? If so which one could it be? I appreciate any suggestions and if this question has been asked and answered 1000 times and I missed it feel free to  :slap: me. LOL Thankies!

EDIT: I have found the problem, I should have moved my folder (not copy it) and drop it into the Sims2 folder and allow it to override . My bad.

Recently when I shut down my computer I get this message :

I am not sure what program it is that isn't responding or how to resolve this. I am assuming that it is not a Sims problem but you know what happens when we assume...

I was having trouble with my game loading and before I did a reinstall I took the forum advice of deleting recent d/l, as well as empty and double files using clean instaler. I also moved the cigen file to my desktop as well as deleted groups cache. The game will now load but the cigen file has not regenerated. I am having other problems with my game but I am not sure if it is related to this not regenerating. My question is this, will not having this file in my game cause issues with the game?  As I stated, luckily I moved it to my desktop so I can put it back in. I appreciate any advice on this.

This isn't a technical question so I hope I am not asking in the wrong area of the forum. I want to convert some clothing to a body shape by Warlokk and Beosboxboy and Marvine, for personal use (not to upload) in body shop. I do pay attention to the read-me files and some say do what you want for personal use.
Here are my questions:

1.  does this mean I can use, for example, a Rabid Angel outfit and convert it to a slim BB shape or a 34DENH shape?
2. Would this be changing the mesh or the texture?
3. Is it allowed to be shown in a picture of your sim? Again, not uploaded anywhere only used in say a contest picture.


If there is a tutorial or a place that explains all of this please direct me. I have searched forums for these questions but haven't found an answer that is specific enough. Again I understand that the read me files explain the creators wishes so I would make sure to read them before I did anything with their clothing item. Thank you.
