Hooters Girl 34DD - 36

Oh, the things we do for art!  Somewhere Around Here, someone asked if it would be possible to make a Hooters girl in size 34DD top with several sizes of hips.  I think the answer is that if you're really persnickety, no, not until we can get a mesh that really supports it.  However, having said that:

Hooters Girl, 34DD Enhanced, 36" Hips

The top and bottom are separate garments.

Obviously, the top requires Warlokk's 34DD Enhanced tank top.  The bottom mesh requires Warlokk's 36" hip nude bottom.

With that bottom mesh, she turned out to be rather more anatomical than you're likely to find in real life, but it's best match for a mesh I could find in the time available. Smiley

For some odd reason, folks who take pictures of Hooters girls and post them on the net don't usually include the shoes in the picture, and I had to run off on a business trip so I didn't have time for the vital field research, so I couldn't find a clear picture of what kind of shoes they usually wear.  I settled for just pilfering Sheba's exercise shoes (that's another link to a download thread at the Hullabaloo) and dunking them in a bucket of orange dye.

November 11, 2006, Update: Kendra asked for some more sizes, so I added four more: 34A, 34B (default), 34D Enhanced, and 36DDD Enhanced.

Each of these requires the corresponding mesh from Warlokk, except that the 34B default will use whatever default halter top you have installed in your game.

The original 34DDe size is unchanged.

There are some variations depending on what meshes I had available on my machine.  The 34A and 36DDDe versions are based on nude tops and rather perky.

In the time since I first posted this, I've learned that the official Hooters Girl uniform calls for white athletic shoes and bobby socks.  Perhaps one of these years I'll update the bottom to be more authentic.  Anyone who might be so inclined is welcome and enthusiastically encouraged to do so.

In case it ain't obvious: "Hooters" and the slogan "Delightfully Tacky Yet Unrefined" are trademarks of Hooters of America, Inc.  No endorsement is implied and no infringement is intended.  The image of the real Hooters gal is the one I used primary for a reference.  (It says somewhere on the net that her name is Ashley; I think she works at Hooters in Arlington, Texas.)  All these things are used in this outfit for The Sims 2 and the associated display image under the Doctrine of Fair Use.  Erm... I think so, anyhow.  And to support that silly notion, I offer the following restaurant review: The Hooters just south of NASA Road One in Houston serves really great hamburgers, and ya just gotta try their onion rings!   And, yeah, Insimenator has the right to distribute this no matter what the copyright nastygram might say in the .package files; in fact, this is the only place I've posted these because I figure Warlokk's work deserves more than just hand-me-downs from The Pearl. Kosmos Cosplay Outfit for Teens

Here she is, Star Ranger!  Smiley

Note that there are two versions:
  • a top (Warlokk's Teen D size) that allows you to select the hip size
  • a bottom (Warlokk's Teen Large Hip) that allows you to select the top size

That should be enough to match just about any teen girl as long as she's curvy at one end or the other.

Innocent bystanders will want to know that this outfit originally appeared in a discussion topic about skinning for Warlokk's meshes, and the download was in the Kosmos Cosplay for Teens topic at the Hullabaloo.

The topic in the Hullabaloo has more notes about what you can do with these outfits in your game and how to do it.

ADDENDUM (September 24, 2006): I also added a download for the Adult female bottom.  That's file psafkosmos36hip1.zip.  It uses Warlokk's size 36 high-heeled mesh.

Kosmos Cosplay, The Adult Edition
Here I paired the adult Kosmos bottom with Warlokk's 36DD nude top.  It all started with this silly story at the Hullabaloo.

Like the teen version, you can pair the adult version with any size of top (nude tops and T-shirts both work well) to match your sim's measurements.

I haven't made a top version of the adult outfit but anyone who is feeling so incined is welcome to do so.

Note for SimsHost subscribers: If you download these from here, you'll save 3 cents from your SimsHost account; however, note that you're burning Insimenator's bandwidth so I'm gesturing meaningfully toward Insimenator's busker jar.  And since Warlokk's meshes make this thing work, I'll just use the toe of my boot to nudge Warlokk's Tip Jar a little closer for your convenience.  (Hint, hint. Cheesy)

Hmm... just in case someone finds a copyright notice somewhere in these files: I made 'em and Insimenator has permission to distribute 'em.  If someone wants to use this outfit as a base and make meshes for accessories to have a complete version of the KOS-MOS character, you're also very welcome to do so as long as it's posted only on Insimenator or one of the SimsHost sites.
18  Retired Creators / Female Hi-Res Bodyshape Project / Shirt Ideas and Techniques on: September 10, 2006, 01:18:42 pm
I started this as a simple reply to karialSim's request for T-shirt ideas and (as usual) got carried away with the idea.  I'm thinking that a thread about skinning ideas and techniques would be appropriate here, so here we go.

I've included some notes about how to make tight T-shirts look more authentic, tricks with tops that have bottoms and bottoms that have tops, and some of the special considerations that come up when working with Warlokk's uberboobie gals.

Novelty T-shirts?  Hmm... sometimes it just takes other ideas to kick the cranial creative corpuscles off top dead center, so perhaps some of my recent mischief will provide some inspiration.

I tend to get an idea for something that seems like a quick knock-off project and then spend days fiddling with a single garment.  All of these are rather elaborate with custom alphas and bump maps ("normals") where they work.

Each image is linked to its respective discussion at the Hullabaloo.  (There's a lot more noise about each of these.  More screen shots, too.)

No pretensions of subtlety expressed or implied:

Eagle Brand Condensed Milk

Milk-related themes on an uberboobie T-shirt are always good for a chuckle as well as jeers from those who enjoy jeering.  (Although, to be honest, the pun didn't even occur to me until the webmasters started laughing about it.  Silly me.)

Historical and patriotic themes are good conversation starters:

First US Navy Jack

I made the Navy Jack for 34C and 34D tops, but it just didn't look good on the larger ones.  I think to make a T-shirt emblem look good on a full-figured gal we'd need a mesh that drapes like a looser shirt would.

Note that I like to add some undies to a top mesh.  They don't show in most outfits but if she dons a bottom with a low waist the straps will show.  Another neat application of this trick is to include full stockings with the top mesh.  It's a great way to provide some variety.

One day while we were nattering at the Hullabaloo I said something about different kinds of oil and mentioned Texas sweet crude.  That's all it took to inspire a shirt as well as the gal it's stuffed with.

Texas Sweet Crude

I made a 34D version of Texas Sweet Crude, too.

If you look closely you'll note that usually there's a hint of a bra under the shirt.  These meshes imply really tight shirts so if she's wearing a bra, it'll show.  To get that effect I fiddle with the texture, alpha, and bump map; whatever seems right for the garment.
19  Retired Creators / BodyShape Requests / UV Map Anomaly in 36DNat-36 Mesh on: August 15, 2006, 12:15:36 pm
I noticed an anomaly in the UV map for the 36DNat-36 mesh.

36DNat-36 Swimsuit, the Nipply Edition

See that odd spot on the right side of her neck?  From playing around with a swimsuit a bit, I think I've discovered that the pixels in that area are coming from a block that extends from the neck down to the bra line.

Let's see... in Photoshop, that's a rectangle with the upper-left corner at about x,y = (256, 32), roughly 32 wide by 175 pixels tall.

I haven't fiddled with other body shapes to see if it's consistent.  If I knew how to fix it, I would; but I don't, so I can't. Smiley
20  Retired Creators / BodyShape Requests / Polo with Smooth Midriff on: August 07, 2006, 12:26:07 pm
Rats!  I can't find a decent (or even indecent) photo of the outfit I had in mind so I'll have to describe it.

What I'm thinking of is the polo shirt in size 34D with a smooth midriff.

The standard polo shirt blouses a little at the waist, so that when I use the alpha to trim off the midriff the model looks like she's needs to work off a few chocolate eclairs.

This whole idea was inspired by the outfits that Elizabeth Berkley wore in the movie Showgirls.  In a couple scenes she's wearing a shirt with a collar that leaves her midriff exposed, y'see.  (That's the one I can't find an image of.)

For your amusement, here's my first shot at representing the togs she wore when she auditioned for the big show.  This one uses the T-shirt mesh.

Showgirl
Using Warlokk's meshes: 34C T-shirt top, 36 hip.

The top that Elizabeth Berkley was really wearing at the start of the audition scene didn't last long, but it's what inspired the one I made for that sim:

Wretched picture of Elizabeth Berkley

What really inspired the whole project was the Danskins she wore in the audition scene:

Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls

When I first saw Warlokk's meshes I thought, "Wow!  Hips!  Maybe I can finally do a sim of Elizabeth Berkley!"

Addendum: *8/13/2006) In response to VanDerTerre's request, I put the sundry versions of that outfit on line.  You can get 'em from this topic at the SimsHost Hullabaloo:
http://hullabaloo.simshost.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7197

Read the notes in that topic to make sure you have the right meshes.  Also note that the "bottom-with-top" can be a fun and amusing adventure.
21  Retired Creators / BodyShape Requests / What mesh was that? on: August 04, 2006, 11:32:16 am
Absolutely outstanding work, Warlokk!

Now for the question: Once I've created a recolor of a bit of clothing, how do I find out what mesh it uses?

This wasn't a problem as long as I was fooling around in my own game, but then I thought I might post some stuff and want to tell folks what mesh to use.  I think I embedded the correct identification in the filename but I want to be sure, y'know.

Thanks!
