1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Game/BodyShop won't start on: May 08, 2008, 10:09:36 am
It worked!

Watching on task manager, it seemed like those files were causing programs to use more CPU than I have (as in over 100% of it), and that's what was causing it to shut down.

Thank you!
2  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Game/BodyShop won't start on: May 08, 2008, 09:44:28 am
OK, so this morning I was playing around in BodyShop, and then finished up and quit the program. I went away for a bit, and when I came back about an hour later, I discovered that I'm unable to open BodyShop or The Sims 2. Either program is listed in Processes in Task Manager, and then about 10 seconds later it completely disappears and nothing happens.

I haven't downloaded anything since, and I've tried removing my Downloads folder anyways. All I did in BodyShop earlier was delete one Sim and create another.

This has been driving me nuts. I've run my anti-virus software, as well as Ad-Aware and Seek and Destroy, and even Perfect Disk. Nothing has helped. I don't have any other non-system processes running aside from explorer and windows updater (which automatically runs, even if it's shut down).

I have all EPs except Bon Voyage, and I have the Glamour Life SP. I really don't want to have to reinstall, because I share my computer with Neuromantik and we're both in contests at this time.

Any suggestions?
3  Simmers' Paradise / FreeTime Help / Free Time - Dance Contests on: April 21, 2008, 02:29:14 am
OK, I haven't attempted any other contests yet, but when I go to the music and dance club house and try to get my sim to join in the dance contest, she and a couple of other sims will gather around the DJ booth, hold themselves and otherwise act nervous, and then just wander away.

Has anyone else had this problem?
4  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Patches? on: October 10, 2007, 04:25:16 am
I haven't seen any problems in applying patches in random orders. Honwever, I'll assure you that most of the time it's good to add the patches, regardless of whether or not you have all of the problems that the patch is fixing or not.
5  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / Does installing expansions have to be in specific order? on: October 10, 2007, 04:23:54 am
I've had no problems installing University after I had Nightlife, Pets, and Seasons installed. It should work fine, but I think most of your Sims will have one of the Turn Ons adjuster potions in their inventory.

I highly recommend making a copy of your Neighbourhoods folder before you install, but all you'll have to do is put the CD in the drive and install normally.
6  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / wedding dress help on: September 28, 2007, 07:05:48 pm
Actually, if I remember right, it's more manual than that if you have just the Base Game. I think wearing any formal automatically was added in with Nightlife.
7  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / But... But It's THERE! on: September 28, 2007, 07:02:11 pm
Did you check your downloads folder to make sure the pieces didn't extract into even *more* zip files? I've had that problem before... drives me nuts when a place packages things like that.

It's from dh-sims-site, here:

Go to Objects-Themed Sets. It's about halfway down the page or so.

Niarne made some utterly priceless expressions today..

Okay, this picture doesn't NEARLY do what happened justice. What happened was, I was playing with a new posing object, and going through all of the photobooth poses. When I select one of them, she strikes this pose and her right arm (screen-left) starts spinning around at the shoulder. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen, and I really wish I'd gotten a video of it.

11  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Skintones / Henna Skin on: September 27, 2007, 01:07:43 am
I made a different henna design that was applied to three different tones, earthpixie. It can be found here:

Thanks for the compliments!
12  Simmers' Paradise / Sims 2 Pictures / Pretty Sims - Post ALL your beautiful females HERE! on: May 22, 2007, 12:04:17 pm
Let's see... Odette's hair is a recolour of one from XMSim's, Annette's is one of Peggy's newest pay hairs, make-up is a mix of Helaene's works and random things from ModtheSims2, and their clothes are by forgetlove3, and can be found here. Cheesy I'm glad you like them! I can't wait to get these two and their male counterpart into the game.

Here's Briar... He's a work in progress, so I haven't had the chance to take some in-game shots of him yet.

These two are both still in the works, so I haven't gotten a chance to give them a nice little photoshoot, but here are my Dollfie-inspired girls, Odette and Annette.

15  Simmers' Paradise / The Shape of Stuff to Come / Gina Torres - Zoe on Firefly, OPINIONS NEEDED!! on: May 22, 2007, 10:51:02 am
I kept wondering how/when you were going to do her... I think she's one of the hardest of the cast!

I don't think you should rotate her eyes, but lift the corners a bit, perhaps. The jaw needs to be a click or two wider, and her lips (along with a couple clicks fuller) could be just a hair wider.

You've done a great job thus far!
