Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Seasons is a Junk EP.

Memory leaks? Then I shouldn't be able to tab between TS2, Guild Wars, Everquest II, and Railroad Tycoon 3, with 3 browsers opened all at the same time as much as I do....or even have all of them running simultaneously AND constantly. Nor am I constantly rebooting because of rumored Securom issues. Neither Inteenimater nor InSimenator have borked any of my games under any EP once I updated to the proper version of said mods.
I do the same on my computer and have had no issues either. I can leave the sims running for days and still have other processes running and never get memory leaks.

How much will the windows partition take up? I'm wondering this because I want to have the best I can have, but I don't want to spend alot over the base price of the computer.

We won't be able to create neighborhoods? And yet they say they are listening to the community and giving us what we want? I believe you just won't be able to with the initial release of the game, but it will be available after.

I'm not sure if this will help anything, but I pulled out all my mods and still had the same problem of not being able to gain parenting skill.. That might mean I have a hidden mod somewhere, I've just not had enough time to go through alll my downloads and see.

Simmers' Paradise / Mac-Users Only Peer Support / Best Mac?

I'm looking to buy a new mac within the next month for my birthday an d wanted to see if you guys could give me a suggestion.
I know that getting an iMac would be best, but I need a Macbook because I move around alot and like to take my comptuer with me.
I'm currently looking at the Macbook Pro, but I have a few questions. 1) Is the Nvidia Geforce 8600 that comes on there good enough to run the sims smoothly? It isn't listed on the main Sims2 website under the recommended requirements. 2) Is there enough difference in a 2.4 and 2.5 speed processor to pay the extra for the faster one? I get a discount because of school, so I could get the faster one for the price of the slower one origionally or I could save a few hundred bucks if it isn't truly needed.
Thanks for any help!

I use Safari on my PC right now because my cousin did something strange and messed up firefox, and I will not touch IE.
Anyway, whenever I download rar files it doesnt add txt... so it might just be mac that does that with safari... which is strange.

I thought I read somewhere that the new version of bootcamp works with windows vista as well?
I'm planning on getting a macbook pro this summer for my birthday, and I currently have a windows vista install CD because that is what is on my computer.
Does it really only work with xp?

Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / New version of SecuROM
|
on: May 15, 2008, 09:39:09 pm

What exactly is it that everyone says Securom does to their computers? I haven't had any problems with it messing with anything.
And on the note of copyright protection, I don't think anything we do will cause them to back down. Everyone has gotten stricter with copyrights over the years. I even got an email from my university about downloading music illegally and they could track how many songs I had downloaded that way.
Not to start a controversy or a debate or anything, but I'm not sure that people fighting the Securom by not buying EA games will fix anything... It's almost like people thinking not buying gas for a few days will lower the prices...
