1  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Discussion / What Kind of Computer you run sims2 on? on: November 14, 2007, 09:23:00 pm
Hello all :hello2:

I've been wondering for some time what kinds of Computer systems you folks use to run Sims2.
Why? well I've noticed that meshes can affect a computers performance especially when lotsa polygons are used!! :h3lp:
So kindly Creators tend to be "user friendly" and keep polygons lower than they can possibly be. This is to be commended. But Having seen (& sold) computers for the last 5 years I'm thinking that the specifications on Today's PC/Macs are sufficient to tackle most if not all the wondrous meshes that are out there.... ( i could be wrong):tongue6:
I want Creators to use more polygons.....so I'll simply ask all who read kindly post your computer specs. Mine are like this.

approx. Age of system = 4 years
CPU speed = 1.8Ghz
amount of memory = 1 Gb
Video card = 6800 (nvidia)
able to play sims2 with all my excellent custom content enabled = Yes....no problem game loads longer than it used to.

For folks who don't know how to find out CPU speed or type of video card simply go to your control panel/settings panel and look for system, also device manager. or use belarc advisor ( free PC audit tool)

Sorry it's been years since i've used a Mac.....

I hope Meshers/creators can gauge from this when releasing their wondrous creations. keep on meshing!! :salute:
2  The Sims 3 / Sims 3 Buzz / What would you like to see In Sims3 on: September 27, 2006, 02:41:24 am
Well for me i'd like to see more realistic graphics (athough Sims2 is very good on higher end machines)

More variety in meshing options eg. the ability to redo NPC's workers etc.

Also simple things like converting your mp3's into simlish for radio playback.

I don't own any expansions so most of my actual gameplay is because of the wonderful work meshers do!!

please add your own additions....hey maybe someone working on it may address yor peeves!!:angry7:
3  Retired Creators / Female Bodyshape Variety Project / Not getting Formal dresses to work on: July 18, 2006, 12:45:11 am
This one is for Warlokk...

First off Excellent work with the Body meshes.......

Secondly excellent work with your Tutorial....

But i when i try to Use any of your full body meshes (correct skintones too)
the Long dresses of the formal type keep wrapping around the legs.....

Instead of a skirt i get a very tight pants effect. Formal bodysuits....it's cool but  in your tutorial the chinese dresses look "normal".

Even the top mutes the nipple effect.........in mine i still see the 3d nipple (which i love of course:B !!)

Please tell me what i'm doing wrong......

PS. Iron Maiden Rocks!!! (:brushtee:  sorry for butt-kissing)
