Well they finally added breast sliders haha.  Thats a start!

I would say we are looking at early 2012 before we see a game that is "better" than the sims2.
Suffice to say that the "T" for teen label is basically a death sentence for almost any PC game for the last few years.  The bulk of successful games are rated M.   Rock

What I would like to see in the sims3... this is an easy answer..

1. PROGRAM STABILITY!!
2. Patches that really FIX glitches without causing more problems.
3. Community / mod support like there is for sims2.  When the game become more stable the modders can crank out good stuff.

Something to remember is that the sims 2 was created almost exclusively by EA, they had bought maxis lock stock and barrel before the sims2 was released.  The still kept the maxis logo though, google for EA buys maxis.  You will find a wiki with all the info.

Back to the original topic, its been many months since that conversation I had and it looks like the guy I talked with was sort of on track, there is more CAS customization continually coming out.  Some of the things recently introduced have been CAW and tats and other stuff.  It is probably going to take at least another full year (Fall 2011) before we really start to see a "clean game".  What I mean by that is a game that works how its supposed to work, without a zillion bugs.  It was the same way with the sims1 and 2 .. with sims 2 it was not until around EP4 that we started to see the kinks ironing out.  I have not played in a while but might fire up a new game after the mods have been updated to work with the newest patch... just to see what sorts of game changes there have been.  Also I am quite surprised at how many replies this thread has received and that it is still a hot topic!

The majority of the "spyware" is to probably help them track glitches.  However I do believe this is quite an invasion of privacy on the part of EA.  There are several ways to disable them tracking you...

1. Dont use the EADM, make a shortcut to the proper exe file.
2. Just disable your internet connection before playing.
3. Adjust your firewall settings to not allow any outgoing information to the IP of EA.

Personally I would be happy if they could just roll out a clean / working patch that fixes everything... so if that means spying on the non tech savvy masses out there, I personally do not care.

PS: AwesomeMod fixes like 90% of all the problems that the official patches SHOULD address.  I highly recommend it for all players.

Hello all, I know I do not post very often but have been a member of the sims /1/2/3 community since about 2005.

Anyway, I had a chance to speak to an actual project developer today who works on the sims 3 team at EA.  We basically shot the bull for a few and I told him about the "pudding heads" and we both got a laugh.  We also both admitted to playing sims games in our spare time, he admitted that EA is working on a significant way to address this issue.

I prodded a bit and he finally confided that they are going to really upgrade CAS, get rid of the pure pudding and add around a dozen more sliders as well as more looks customization.  Me being a businessman myself began to think to myself that sales must be in the toilet.. at least for a mega company like EA and a mega brand game title like the Sims franchise.

Hope this little morsel of information gives some hope to fellow fans on the Sims.

I remember when TS2 came out, and honestly it was not until OFB was released that it really started to fly.  That is when mods galore started coming, many if not all the bugs were fixed and modders had a solid grasp on what they were dealing with.

I would expect it will be the same for TS3, its going to take at least another year before we really start to see the game get good.  I like TS3 but as it stands it is just lacking in so many areas.  It need to build upon all the strengths of TS2 and then it will be awesome.  Imagine going back to the original sims right now.. you would look at it and be like "ewww.. horrid" when compared to TS2 currently.  In a couple years people will have that same feeling about TS3 vs TS2 is my guess.   But as it stands "for now" TS2 is the better game.

11  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Any "easy" tutorials for moving sims to new hoods? on: October 25, 2008, 11:41:25 am
So I would like to "move" my sims and some of their homes to a totally new neighborhood.  I would prefer to keep their friendships but it is not necessary.  I am planning on making a ocean front / beach hood and would like to move some of my existing sims there.  Any help on this?

PS:  I am a total NOOB with simpe.....

Thank you..:worship:
12  Simmers' Paradise / General Sims 2 Help / Changing base mesh body type???? on: October 24, 2008, 01:10:54 pm
Is it possible to make a normal sim have a new body?  Kind of like when you create a sim.  Is there a way to take an existing sim and totally remake what they look like in game?  I want to give one of my sims the huge body builder shower proof mesh and another the pinup shower proof mesh.  Any ideas?

PS: I am VERY inexperienced with using modding tools such as simpe etc etc.

Thanks.
