Thanks so much.  I'll keep checking back.  Smiley

I think a -25 reduction does sound about right.  The way it stands right now, the teen only needed to do a few "Admire" interactions and the relationship was bright and shiny again.  Sims are so narcissistic.  They are suckers for "Admire."   Grin

I'll just keep poking through the code while I wait - nothing was jumping out at me when I did my first run-through so I figured it was time to go to one of the modding masters.  Smiley  Thanks so much.
3  Resident Creators / Mod Requests / Caught sneaking out - bigger relationship drop on: March 29, 2009, 07:17:08 pm
Back Story: I have a mean teen and I decided to fulfill their wish to "Sneak Out."  She was caught and I noticed the parent and the teen only had a small relationship hit after being lectured.  (I think it was -3 LTR and -5 STR.  I don't know if this is random or not - I can't find the actual code for the REL score change.)
Two minutes later, they were joking and laughing again.

Request: I would love to see a bigger drop in their relationship when the teen is caught sneaking out.  Maybe even add a "furious" token to the parent against the teen.  I like making life a little more difficult for my mean Sims.

Extra Info:
I have all expansion packs, so I am currently running AL. I have no stuff packs.

Gratitude:
Thanks!  Grin

4  Sims 2 Community Downloads / Misc. Mods and Careers / Enabled Insurance Policy to Non-Elder on: March 19, 2007, 11:34:00 pm
This is a terrific mod.  You are indeed the Sims financial modding wizard.   I play about 85% of my households in a "non-cheaty" manner and your money mods add so much realism to the game.  Thanks! Smiley

On a side note, do you know of a hack - or is it even possible to make a hack - that can transfer the dead sim's inventory to the next available family sim upon their death?  It should probably only go to a Sim living in the household...maybe the surviving spouse or child, I suppose.
I only thought of this when I realized a few hours after my Sim died that I had left some veggie stock and a very nice custom photograph in his inventory.  Sad

In any case, thanks so much!  This is perfect.
5  Resident Creators / Squinge's Mods / Fun gain when teaching to study on: July 15, 2006, 05:27:42 pm

There's a hack from Monique (MTS2) around to make homework fun and only have homework sometimes, so the 'fun' part is definitely possible.

Thanks a LOT for this. I had a situation where  frustrated sims didn't teach their kids to do homework (study) because of their frustration. I'll check this out right now.

Heehee - The homework sometimes/faster/fun mod is actually my mod (at MTS2)...I'm a big school nerd and I wanted to tweak the entire school/homework bit.  With my mod, serious students will get a small boost to their fun when at school and while doing homework.  Also, students who have higher grades will be able to finish their homework a little bit faster.  Also, mine adds a tiny little social/fun boost to the kids when they are being helped with their homework.

Monique's mod is the Auto Do Homework mod (also at MTS2)...it is such a help.  It makes the kids do their homework at 7PM every night.

So, if you put all of these together (mine, Monique's and Squinge's), you get a nice little homework package.
(They all appear to be compatible..unless I completely missed something when I looked at them just now)

Thanks, Squinge.  Goodness, I love all the little hacks you make for us!

Thank you!  This will be such a help at my Sim School for Troubled Kids (courtesy of Inge's Simlogical School mod).  Now the nice teachers can rehabilitate the all the mean kiddies who are enrolled there. Thanks, Squinge!

lol, that's kind of funny(sorry I'm sure it's not funny to you), could you post a picture of that ? it almost sounds like the shrub is putting the parent up for adoption, have you installed the ep3 patch?

edit: I just realized that it doesn't work for teens it only works for children or younger.

Oh - I missed your response.  Yep, I have the patch installed and the Holiday pack, too (not sure if that makes a difference).
I just saw that you had the same thing happen in your game, too.  I guess the parents just couldn't tear themselves away from the kids - they had to put themselves up for adoption, too.  Cheesy

I'll keep checking back in case you figure it out.  Awesome job so far, though - your work is highly appreciated!  Thanks!  Smiley

Weird that it doesn't happen for you.
I tested it on an OFB installation with no custom content and no hacks except for this one. The parent actually hunches down and becomes kid-sized before he gets into the van.
The parent's picture remains on the left side of the screen so he is still considered to be part of the family.  What I did was just summon him back to the lot.

Edit:  Okay, strike that as a viable solution.  When I summoned the parent back (via the shrub) and saved and returned to the lot, there were two of them.

Thanks so much!

I did notice one thing, however - the person who chooses to put the child up for adoption ends up going in the social worker van with them and they leave the lot.  (It was kind of funny to see the mom wave to everyone and get in the van)
The social worker still takes the child and the memory is given, but the parent goes, too.  Is anyone else having this occur?
