I think i was overwhelmed with just playing the sims 3 and all EP and SP for the first time after playing for like 24hrs with breaks its really simple...and the Prima Guide was a great help for 20bucks...lol...thanks for all your help...
i was having problems with some of the quests too. I thought about getting the Prima Guide (wasn't sure if they were still being sold). P.S. who's beautiful baby in the avatar?  |

You can invite the sim from china to visit, then marry them in whatever world you are living in - Sunset Valley, Riverview, Banacle Bay, Bridgeport, or Twinbrook - and they can remain in that particular world and live and work there if you wish.
Yes, but he (she?) asked if that sim could live in China. Thanks for the input.  P.S. I am definitely female.
<admin note: posts merged. just use the 'modify' button next time you have something to add, instead of double posting.>I guess maybe the best bet is to, as you noted, build up to Visa level 3, buy a vacation home, then marry the sim in China. The sim will still have to return home periodically, but you can (with cheats turned on), hold the ctrl key and click on the moodlet to make you wait to travel again (thereby getting rid of it), and return. You can lick the employment problem by being a writer or painter, or just about anything you can do from home, but the sim will still have to return periodically to collect income, pay bills, etc.

Hi all it's been awhile...FINALLY figured how to play my S3 without trashing it.  Anyways, my question, I have WA Expansion pack and I have 2 sims female roommates. One has fallen in love with somone from China and I wonder is there a way for her to move in with or marry her boyfriend and they live in China? If anyone knows how to do this and yes, cheats, I really appreciate it  . I am still such a newbie to S3 and I still have not figured out how to download custom content since, let's face it, some of EA's stuff, including the sims bite. I tried to download cc (custom content) when I 1st got the game but got frustrated since it's an act of congress to download into the right folder  . At least with the Sims 2 all you had to do is put it in the downloads folder. Many, many thanks. |

When we all started on the Sim2... it was NUTZ! SOOO Crazy! everything was wonky! nothing worked right sims were going mad and eating their Young!... ok not really... but it was a mess! If it is that frustrating then put it on an back burner, play sims2 have FUN! and wait.... Just breath and wait! We will get it all fixed and working right! Then try again.... Have faith! Is this an actual help question, or a rant? If you need help, please be specific. If it's just how to download and install CC, then looking through a couple other threads on this page will help. I am SO not a happy camper! I bought the Sims 3 because I read some of the blogs that said the game was worth it. At first I loved it until I decided to download some custom content. First of all it took me like 2-3 hrs or more to figure out how to download custom content  (cc) for S3 which u have to practically have a degree in computers to figure this out. I had to delete all of my original sims i created and start over since my game crashed when I downloaded an update via the download mgr that asked if I wanted to download a patch for the game when clicked on the game icon the computer. Oh well, Maxis/EA u messed up big time. I may never buy another Sims game from u again. Here's a thought if anyone plans on creating their own game better than S3 let me know and I will buy it better yet I will help u create it. Thanks for letting me blow off some steam...I'm going to start playing the S2 again...at least I can download in the DOWNLOADS folder without hassle. If anyone else can convince me to keep S3 (which I will keep as a collectors item or until somone can show me how to download cc) I really appreciate it. Many, many thanks.

Since you are making a movie, take a look at putting your sims against a greenscreen, then using your movie editor to place them into a clip of your weather. Windows Movie Maker won't do it, but Sony Vegas does. IIRC you can download a 30 day trial so you can see if it will work for your purposes.
thanks a million ancienthighway. i only have windows movie maker & i will consider the IIRC and price the sony vegas. all of this is so new to me (movie making that is) so when i play the sims I just play. I was inspired by other simmers who've made some AWESOME movies. when i get brave enough to upload them I will. many, many thanks. you all rock!!!!! |

Well, you can try the weather controller machine that's already in the game with Seasons. You have to look in the Rewards panel for it. Use that to change the weather. As for tornadoes, well, there isn't a mod out there that can create tornadoes. Sorry about that. But if you want lots of rain and puddles that looked more or less like a flood, you can check out crumplebottom_marky4444's weather mods that lets you have more rain, more wetter seasons, dry seasons and whatnot. There is one mod in his section for wetter seasons - spring and fall have a lot of rain.. I mean a lot of rain. One of these mods would be perfect for your rainy appearance on the lot as well lots of water puddles. If you want your Sims to look like they're flying, being taken away by a "tornado", you can check out these two flying mods here. Either one will give you an illusion that the Sim is actually flying. As for the sky, there are several interesting mods you can look at and try out for yourself: Search Results For SkyOberkorn's colored skieschris997's colored skiesThese skies would be perfect for your movie or picture stories to simulate the "weather" you were looking to achieve. Caveat emptor: I don't know if any of these mods work with Seasons, but I suggest creating a test 'hood just to test these mods first before you actually use your real lot for moviemaking or storymaking projects you have in mind. Hope these will help you get what you're looking for. At least it is a starting point to find more stuff out there. I have base, nightlife & seasons. Hi fellow simmers. This may be in the wrong forum so feel free to move it. I have original, nightlife, seasons. Is there a hack where there could be sever thunderstorms, hurricanes, flooding, and yes i dare say, a tornadoe. I am in the process of making my sims movie and would like to add some drama to my story and yes there are some sims the may "accidently" get taken away by a tornadoe  . If they get sucked away by a tornadoe they could be deposited on a different lot (community or drop in on another residential lot) or how about be dropped into a different neighborhood? supporting that site will ultimately change how we play the game, of all the paysites this one is by far the worst (just read the various blogs) and has more potential to damage the game than any amount of securom or drm. that gaming companies throw at us.
one has to admire your conviction Feisty32 in maintaining your loyalty to your favorite creators, but you should keep in mind the great majority of the money that you spend there goes to the site and not the creators. without entering into a huge s__t fight about them, they have over the years used some of the lowest tactics imaginable inorder to shut other sites or get them to join tsr.
by downloading from various booty sites you are doing far more harm to the site rather than the individual artist.
the more revenue they loose the les they have to bribe,influence or buy out so called competition. (yes those are some of the tactics they use)
Razorzman, simpleprincess & others, I had to reply to you responses and I am becoming more and more convinced that I may not buy the sims 3 game. I heard via game informer (the magazine) that ea games was in trouble for not paying overtime pay to thier creators but after reading Razorzman's thoughts on the TSR I don't know if I want to continue to give EA, EASony (aka Buttheads, Inc. ...trying to be nice since there maybe kids in this forum...lol) my money. But like I said before I will wait a good couple of months...who knows maybe a year....before I give EA/Sony aka Buttheads, Inc. my money. I welcome your thoughts. Many, many thanks. |

thanks for the heads up about securom. I will proably wait and see what the feedback will be after other gamers have played the sims 3 before I buy it cry2 have to buy a gaming comp so I can at least play my sims 2 game (my old ones power source keeps shorting out  hence a lot better to get a new comp then putting more $ into this one). Oh well. Many, many thanks all. I will keep checking back to see if there is any new about the sims 3. Rock on!!!!  |

I vote other.... Ok, this is going to sound SO morbid. I would like to see an a sim eating plant like they had in Bustin Out, or maybe a shark attack when a sim goes swimming (what a way to get rid of a sim enemy ), how about sims can fall in love with more than one sims, divorce, child-support, sorry sounds too much like real life but I've attempted to make a sim soap opera with the Sims2 and some of what I stated was not in the game and I've had the darnest of luck finding a download that would allow this. I too am waiting for Insiminator, Inteen, anything that would allow one to do what they wanted in the game. Oh, yes pregnant sims can wear everyday clothes and hopefully not those ugly ones maxis makes . Sorry maxis. Many, many thanks. |

You all rock! I have no idea what a socrum (spelling) is? I too am in the process of getting my comp repaired because the friggin' power source keeps going out. I was at Best Buy today and saw that they had the cases for the Sims3 out but it said "for reserve only....game not included" to which it also instructed the would-be buyer on how to put this game on hold when it does arrive at the store. I talk to a gentleman at GameStop and he told me that it would indeed be out by June 2009. I really want this game but I think I will be patient and wait a good 3 months or so for custom content, modding and yes, CHEATS (let's face it I do some PRETTY mean things to my sims and I couldn't survive without the cheats and modded stuff) ! Sorry all I am computer illiterate when it comes to modding and would so love to learn (personally I like to draw with pen/pencil and paper but am considering graphics as my major). Anyways, if you all hear of any tidbits that would be of interest to myself and anyone else here in this wonderful forum let us know. As always, many, many thanks. |
