Its refreshing to see a good smile. You have no idea how many smiles I've seen that should be closed-lipped smiles. Bad teeth ruin a good smile.

Some of us have genetics to blame for that, and no amount of brushing will fix the gaps I've had since birth. (Nor do I have the 5 grand it will cost to fill the gaps). Wink

I don't mind gaps. Gaps especially between the two front teeth are sexy (my husband has a little Madonna gap). I mean when people (like my husband as a kid) don't brush their teeth and they are dark yellow, brown, black, with decaying holes in them. Those are terrible. Brandon never brushed as a kid, and his teeth are full of holes, and need to eventually be ripped out and replaced with fake teeth. He was at the store, behind a woman and a little boy. The little boy wanted a candy and the mom said no because he didn't brush his teeth last time he got one. The little boy tried to say that nothing would happen and my husband was like, "Hey kid. This is why your mom says to brush." and showed the little kid his teeth. Needless to say, the kid didn't ask for a candybar anymore. Hehe

It's okay Dugg. I have chronic halitosis(sp) so my breath is always bad. I take good care of my teeth, but my breath smells like salty garbage all the time. So gum and mints are totally needed for me. Wierd, my husband has rotten teeth from HELL and his breath doesn't even smell bad. It's unfair!

If you don't do this, you should try brushing your tongue. Also, doing simple things like making sure you drink enough water (cold water is best). If your not allergic or don't despise this, try eating a half avocado/day. It's not only good for your blood pressure, but your breath too. Parsley is a good, natural breath freshener too (other good herbs are coriander, tarragon, eucalyptus, spearmint and rosemary). Eating yogurt, believe it or not, help cut down on the hydrogen sulfide in your mouth and cuts back the bacteria on your teeth (good old yogurt!). Two more tips I can think of off the top of my head: any crunchy high-fibre fruit or veggie as well as foods with a high Vitamin C content. The high fibre fruit and veg help stimulate saliva production, which help mouth stay moist and washed out. Vitamin C helps create an environment unhealthy bacteria growth (better to get this from food than a supplement).

If all else fails, bad breath can be caused by an overabundance of a H. pylori bacteria in your stomach.

Mints and gum are only a mask, and if they're not sugarless, then you're doing nothing but compounding the problem, since sugar helps to promote the growth of bacteria and plaque. If your chewing sugarless gum/mints, you're at helping promote saliva production.

Wow...I didn't even know I was full of so much information. I knew I was full of something, anyway. Wink
