I had removed Sims 2 from my computer for several months (needed a break) and just recently re-installed it all, including the Apartment Life expansion. Now, about every minute or 2, I get the following error message:

Object error

Controller - age #?? (the question mark are numbers that vary depending on which family I'm playing)

bad gosub tree number

...

And then it says where the file is located - in logs in the documents folder.

Any idea what this means and how to fix it?

Do you have any mods in your game that allow you to change the age of a sim?

If you go into My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Logs you'll find all the errors the game has logged. If you could upload the latest Object Error as an attatchment (do not copy and past the entire file...upload it as an attachment), we can take a look at it and see if we can't narrow down the problem.

Replaced Insimenator Objects with DEST and it seems to be getting worse. Created a couple of sims and the game locked up with them. This is the type of error message I'm getting with them ...

Object id: 690
name: E001_User00546 - Landon
Stack size: 9
Error: Invalid constant.
Iterations: 7
  Frame 8:
    Stack Object id: 198
Stack Object name: Social - Flirt - Suggestion
    Node: 10
Tree: id 8293 name 'Walk Style - Aspiration - Begin' version -32752
    from SocialGlobals
    Prim state: 0
    Params:    Locals: 0
  Frame 7:
    Stack Object id: 198
Stack Object name: Social - Flirt - Suggestion
    Node: 6
Tree: id 8333 name 'Common Entry - Router' version -32754
    from SocialGlobals
    Prim state: 0
    Params:    Locals: 0 0 1 0

as for the age controller thing ...

Object id: 10
name: Controller - Age
Stack size: 1
Error: Bad gosub tree number.
Iterations: 91
  Frame 0:
    Stack Object id: 10
Stack Object name: Controller - Age
    Node: 16
Tree: id 4096 name 'Function - Main' version 89
    from AgeController
    Prim state: 0
    Params:    Locals:

it's all heiroglyphics to me, but the game is basically unplayable. Didn't have this problem before I put on Apartment Life.

First off, I asked you to post the entire file as an attachment, and to not copy and paste it, yet that's what you did.  Second, if it's a problem with the insimentor, then we can't help you. That mod is unsupported, as per this sticky, but I think it's something else.

Can you please upload the entire file as an attachment? If you don't know how to do that, it's easy to solve. Click on "Additional Options" under the text edit box where you type your post and you'll see it.

Thank you.

Or, you could just take out all your mods and reintroduce them one at a time to find what's causing the problem. That would work too.
