Er.... What do i do? Only Formal and everyday showing up to plan outfits

Okay i was playing my sims 2 games of course and trying to think if i should use the family i was playing in a story and when i wanted to change the teen's clothes all that showed up was formal,everyday,and gym clothes. then for the adult the same thing. For the toddler it's everyday,pjs,and outerwear. and for them as kids it's just everyday and formal.
I have all eps installed and have for a while and have 5 stuff packs but do not have the stuff packs installed.
What do i do to fix this?

i probably sound stupid but how would i do that?

Hop in your car and drive downtown to a clothing store to buy your sims some more clothes and when the sims arrives home she/he should be carrying a shopping bag and the clothes they bought will be automatically put into their dresser..
