lol I saw Billy Squier for 97 cents when he was still nobody in a band called Piper. I recognized talent though and bought 2 of their albums....(I can see tons of people saying...billy who???)

OK...prerequisite for fav all time song is   A) it has to be long. If it's gonna be a favorite, I wanna listen to it for a long time. Rules out Honkey Tonk Women....

b) Its gotta have like a slow section and a fast section, or at least a wide range of dynamics (ala Freebird, Stairway to Heaven)

c) its gotta have a rippin guitar solo (see above)

d) its gotta have killer vocals....by that I mean, if the average Joe can sing it, its just average

e) its gotta be by one of my top favs Deep Purple, Bowie, Eagles, Floyd, etc.....

So when you mix all that together, I come up with "Child in Time" by Deep Purple....go youtube it....

oh boy, I have so many, I can't name just one!!

My top ones are

The Greatest Flame by Runrig
Deuces are Wild by Aerosmith
When Love and Hate Collide by Def Leppard
Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty MacColl
Fields of Fire by Big Country
The One and Only by Chesney Hawkes (yes, OK, I know I'm opening myself up to all sorts of ridicule here!!)
Thorn in My Side by the Eurythmics
Bubblewrap by McFly
Shine by Take That
Word of Mouth by Mike and the Mechanics

a strange mix but I guess that's just me all over!

I'm a jerk and I forgot to list my favourite Matchbox 20 songs when I was listing my favourites. So ... "Back 2 Good", "Last Beautiful Girl", "Rest Stop", "Downfall", and "The Difference".

The Killers "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine", "For Reasons Unknown", "Read My Mind", and "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf"

Tori Amos "Mother", "Etienne Trilogy", "Putting the Damage On", "Hotel", "Josephine", "Your Cloud", "The Power of Orange Knickers", and "The Beekeeper".

And "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge.
