I hear your pain, Brat. It's why I stopped watching TV years ago. Reality shows make me want to beat someone over the head with something heavy. Especially American Idol.  angry

All reality shows and useless comedies get season after season, way past the point where they could ever be good or slightly original, and all of my favourite shows got the boot. It's not fair and TV can ... well, I won't say.  tongue

Speaking of "American 'Midol'" (or at least what I call it - Simon, so I hear, needs some) is really a pain in the arse. It keeps interfering with my trying to tape "The Fringe". Why does it keep spilling over? Do we really want to hear an ego crushing, self-esteem smashing show? Not really!

And as far as the Connor Chronicles go, Naria, I actually am a huge fan, too. Yes, it's continuation was threatened and it was rumoured around that they were going to stop airing it. But, they also seemed to have saved themselves. As far as I know, or at least the last time I checked, they are planning on continuing with a third season. I heard they had already signed the contract for it.

But heck yeah, I completely agree with you. We are losing some great shows to more crap. I do know that some shows, such as Prison Break didn't have the intention to go past 5 seasons. But as for the majority, it looks like shallowness has really kinda taken over the airwaves.

It just amazes me how shows such as Desperate Housewives (adultery doesn't seem that important) and Plain Sight (great concept but not great writing), seem to be more popular than well-written shows with a little more depth. It almost amazes me that the same audience as those shows are the same audience that kept great shows like "Law & Order", "CSI" and "ER" going for years.

I, too, hear your pain.

At least from what I read "The Fringe" and Heros will be back. But they keep moving "The Fringe" on the schedule to make room for some DA show like "Disco dancing with the 80's one Hit Wonders", wait I better shut up before I give them an idea...

That was Brat.  Wink The only shows I watch nowadays are the Star Wars Clone Wars show on Cartoon Network and Supernatural.

I hate watching shows because I know they'll just get canceled. No thanks, I still miss all the ones they canceled on me years ago.

Lol, nice. And that's good news about "Heroes". Love that show. Good news, too, on "The Fringe". I heard that was being canceled as well.

And Naria - sorry about that. I hear you on "Supernatural". I think I'm pretty safe with being addicted to that and "Smallville". They've both been running for awhile and I love the writing in both. While younger audiences may be drawn to the show, I still believe "Supernatural" truly was written for the 80's kids. Too many songs and references, lol.

I'm going to be watching what happens with Dollhouse.  It's not unprecedented for a show to live through a cancellation.  I think they gave it the worst slot for the type of show it is that they could possibly give and I'd be shocked if they didn't anticipate this.  Never mind.  I'm never shocked by stupidity on the part of marketing execs.  Why can't they retroactively cancel Knight Rider and give Dollhouse that slot.  Oh, and if your looking for another good show, I really like Bones...  Love the comedy thrown in to the mix with blood, guts and gore in a crime drama type show.

Example BSG end Jerrico cancelled, and Chuck is on the edge. I need to see about Repear. I got were I watch old movie like original Ocean 11 and other classics. Because they don't assume that I am brain dead.

I agree about canceling Knight Rider. They turned that show into a shallow soft porn. WTH? Think they totally blew that remake.

And while I really like Joss Whedon and especially what he did with "Firefly", I thought "Dollhouse" was too much like a re-hash of "My Own Worst Enemy".

Speaking of "Firefly", I am surprised at myself for actually watching "Castle". I was kinda rooting for Malcolm Reynolds since most of his previous shows have been canceled. As cheesy as it is, it's almost worth it to me to catch little Captain Reynolds' moments in the show. I catch little River moments in "Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Man, I miss "Firefly". Maybe I should just start a fan post, lol.

Lord I can't survive without Bones!  I am soo not into blood and gore but I can't tear myself away from that one.  Just no snacking while viewing, Tee Hee.  Angel (who cares if it's canceled I still gotta have it).   Without a trace, Cold Case files, Monk, Psych, occasionally The Closer.

"Leverage" is good at times too, though I think they need to move their offices to wall street and provide some leverage with the econothieves. BBC.

I really like Monk, too - and Without a Trace. Jack Malone cracks me up, sometimes.
