Hi Guys,

I have been realllyy quite bored with my sims2 games lately and wanted something with a bit different taste so I went out and got The Sims Life Stories today and installed it, and amazingly I liked it pretty well Cheesy but one major thing I hate is some of the horendious maxis crap thats shipped with the game by default so I now know that you can have CC & hacks for this game like any other TS2 game which I didn't think you could but now that I know, awesome! but I was wondering or making sure really quickly, if I download a hack mod, or any sort of CC I should make sure its compatible with The base game through Pets for it to work in the game correct? but it has been a really long time since I manually added a downloads folder to my TS2 directory and I was wondering if I just go into My Documents, Electronic Arts, The Sims Life Stories, and just click add new documents and place it in the directory, if not how would I go about making a new downloads folder because poor Riley I just don't think that I can bear to look at her any longer knowing she could have new hair, clothes, and make-up Grin so once I find out how to manually add my downloads folder I'm hitting MTS2 and getting her some fabolous Bruno cosmetics A.S.A.P. thanks for the help everyone

you make a Downloads folder just like you did for Sims 2, so yes just add it to My Documents, Electronic Arts, The Sims Life Stories.

thanks amc, for the response I actually went ahead and chanced it by adding a new folder inside the Electronics Arts directory and it worked YAY so I now proceed to pack with atleast a gig of downloads because I literally have nothing to work with in TSLS Sad I just finished Riley's story today she and Mickey married and had a baby that I conviently named Mickey Jr. tongue lol

If you use the Fertilinator bed, you usually get twins Smiley I always sell Riley's old bed and give her the reward one and the 5 times I have played that story she's always had twins with the Fertilinator  YAY

I did use the fertilinator bed but she still had a son but I am kind of glad she did because have you noticed the guest room in sharon/riley's house? it is so tiny! so I would feel like I was neglecting him by putting him in a cracker box for a nursery Sad one other thing really quick, have you ever noticed how neglectful the sims are toward the babies in TSLS? by default they litterally don't care about the infants at all I had the game running on free-will while I made some dinner and when I would check in on the game to make sure no-body had died or anything the baby had a dirty diaper and was starving like his moods were in the RED and do you know what Mickey (the dad) was doing? lounging on the sofa ugh rolleyes

I never really played it beyond Story Mode so I have no idea how those sims behave afterwards. I'm surprised about Mickey. Romance sims are usually good parents for some reason. He's very outgoing but not very nice or playful so that could be why. Playful sims are more likely to seek out fun stuff, like playing with a baby, but most of the sims in Riley's hood suffer from an overdose of seriousness. Only Madison, Dylan, Agora and Ashley are playful. All the rest of them have less than 4 playful points.

Hmm, I don't know I just popped in to check on the game for just a second and I noticed he was on the sofa watching t.v. and I could hear the baby crying and when I moved the camera to him he had a dirty diaper and his thumbnail was red so I guess maybe he had just messed himself because if he had been lying there hungry and dirty for a long time the social worker would have already came so..

Yep, they totally dont take care of the babies unless you get the relationship up with it.  I found you have to (time consumingly) show the parents at least once how to care for the babies.  After that they get better with the next ones.  But I had to use pescado nodroptiredbabies hack and a busload of others before I could really enjoy the game Tee Hee

A shortcut is to use the relations adjuster and make the relation high between the parents and the babies then they take care of them much better.  I also found (from playing it different ways) that if Mickey dotes on Riley, instead of allowing him to sow his wild oats everywhere,   Then he becomes much more playful and caring with the kids.  In my game he took better care of them then Riley, so I guess it varies.

Christanlov's all in one nanny & (all in one npc) solved all that for me.  Here's a case where simblender isn't compatible but the insimenator works like a charm.

I have awesome houses in that game that I wish I could export to TS2 and really miss the treadmill and cell phones and some of the decor & wallpapers.  Riley's house has about 4 stories to it & her and mickey had six kids in my game.  I can transfer my dloads folders between computers and games at home but I haven't figured out how to package lots & don't know if they can be.  Wish I knew because I have families from there I'd like to move to TS2 game.

It was convenient for me when I finally got TS2.   I just moved my SLS dloads folder to my TS2 game when I upgraded since I had all the custom eyes, bodies and skins & hacks I loved in it already.   I guess if I get UNI, BV, OFB etc I'll need to make changes but in this economy I'll probably be enjoying what I have for quite a while.

I wish I could show you some of my old saved sls games (I saved a few favs) so you could see how similar mine was to ts2.
