It should look like this:

[*url=http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Sunset_Valley]Click me![*/url]

Remove the asterisks, and you get this:

I thought that you were staying out of this thread, Pierre? Yes, the post that you said it in was wiped out, but I clearly remember you stating that you were going to avoid this one. Either don't claim you're going to do something like that, or keep your word. You don't get it both ways.

Well, a person is either consistent and people have a good opinion of them because of it, or they're inconsistent and people believe they're a flake that is better off ignored. I know which I prefer.

Anyhoo, after reading that article, it does make a bit more sense as to why some things would still be around, but there should be more vintage stuff if it's going to be set in the past. You know, less modern appearing things like appliances and stuff. It would be a huge anachronism to have a microwave fifty years ago, or a modern-looking food processor. Does that make sense to you how I explain it? Or would it just be better to say that things ought to look a bit more retro, considering the timeline of the story they're trying to tell is set fifty years in the past?

Because if they really wanted to make it authentic, they should have taken some of those years spent developing the game to make objects that match their story setting.

That's what I just said... If Sims 3 is set in the past, the objects in it ought to have a retro feel to them, which mean the designers of the stupid thing should have made the objects for the game appear to be clunkier or something. *sits on Joy and steals her coffee*

LOL... no, I meant maybe Sims 2 was supposed to be set 50 years from today, silly. *wiggles out from under the cat and steals her catnip*

*lets out an outraged yowl and runs after Joy, stealing the catnip back and eating it before sitting on her again and drinking more coffee* Meh!

Besides, if that were the case, then all of the appliances in the Sims 2 game would be hopelessly antique looking and outdated. So, nyah! Tongue

Are you kidding? I can't leave my coffee cup unattended or I'll find my cat dipping his paw into it and licking it off.

*drugs coffee with a heavy sedative and pushes Paden off when she's asleep*

Now having said that, the first commercial microwave hit the market in 1947, so nyah right back. Mind you, it was 6ft tall and weighed something like 750 lbs LOL. Still, the first countertop microwave was in use as early as 1967. Not quite 50 years ago, but still. *shrugs* I'm not to fussed with anacronisms. Wink

I believe that it was not to long after that when the news came that some intellectual giant decided to dry his dog or cat in a microwave. I believe said critter went boom.

lol My cats don't thankfully.  Although one of them goes crazy for spaghetti.

1947?! Wow had no idea microwaves were made that far back.   I'm with Paden on the retro idea though. Of course I think in my mind I gathered that the Sims in TS2 were from 50 or so years from now, what with the servo robots and all.
